Good Morning!

Waking up here in Port Loring this morning, it is a bit cloudy. It is also wet, caused by all the heavy rain we had through the night. I have to say it rained pretty good too. I do however like to listen to it fall on our roof at night. It seems to lull me to sleep. It reminds me of when I was young many years ago as my bedroom was upstairs, and we had a steel roof. You could say, memories of the good old days. The temperature getting out of the sack was sitting at 5.2 C | 41.36 F. It will warm up some as the day moves forward. And taking a look at my weather station, we could see some sunshine today. But it will be short-lived, as more rain is in the forecast for the next few days. And I hate to mention the word snow, but we could see some flurries later next week. Highway 522 is bare and wet once again this morning, and the traffic is slow these days.

On another note, I was going to head on out to my woodworking shop yesterday, but decided to stay inside where it was warm and dry. And you know … I can do that. Ha ha. Some say it must be nice. I say yep it sure is, but my lovely wife and I earned it too. For most of our life, we worked from daylight to dark.

Today I will see what develops. Now I am feeling somewhat better, my mind is on doing all kinds of things. I just have to choose cautiously, as I don’t want to be laid up all winter. My mind says okay let’s do this, but my body says hold … up there a minute partner, and think this out.

With that, I am off for a bowl of oatmeal and a piece of toast that my wife is making for me. Then I will see what the day has in store. Stay safe there is a lot of sickness spreading around these days, and it will be quite bad for the next month or so before things settle down.

Funny in one way, as when we were all wearing masks, you hardly ever heard of anyone catching a cold or flue. Actually, no one even needed the flu shot. Makes me wonder why more of us aren’t wearing them these days, especially going into winter. For my wife and I we do when ever we go into stores or where there is a lot of people. We also use hand sanitizers before and after too. We feel it is a lot better than getting sick. But, as I always say. “To Each Their Own.”

Good Morning!

Starting things off it is a rainy, windy cool morning here in Port Loring. Outside doesn’t look inviting one bit. But it is that time of year when you can expect just about anything. We could see some strong wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h throughout the day, accompanied by some thunder and lightning. So all in all not that nice of a day. Highway 522 is or has been busy with lots of hunters moving into our area. Not so good news for the hunters, but good news for the critters. It seems nature has her ways of looking after their own occasionally.

On another note, my lovely wife and I did take a trip yesterday, taking in the leaves. I have to tell you they were sure nice. Couldn’t have picked a better day. Lots of sunshine along with the temperature being quite nice too. We took some pictures, stopping here and there, and then later on picked a nice spot overlooking a lake and enjoyed a danish and coffee that my wife brought along with us. We enjoy doing things like that. The only thing is we don’t do it enough.

With that I am off for some breakfast and will then see what the day has in store. Oh … I will post a few pictures here on my Blog a bit later that we took of the leaves yesterday. Have a great day.

It looks like a real nice day is shaping up for us here in Port Loring. It is cool with the temperature sitting at 0 C | 32 F getting out of bed. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. If you want to take in the colour of the leaves, today would be the day to do so. After today the weather is going to be rainy and cooler which will cause the leaves to drop. Highway 522 was busy yesterday with folks moving around trying to find things that were open. We had a few drops by our store. Today, my lovely wife and I will finish closing up our cottage, and might put in one more row of garlic. I did plant a few rows already, but I found some garlic I missed this summer, so I will plant it, better than just letting it go to waste. We did have a great crop this summer. Actually, everything grew well this year.

With that I am off for a bite to eat and will then see how I am feeling. I take things one day at a time these days. Enjoy your day.

Good Morning!

Starting things off, I hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving. We had our Turkey dinner on Saturday as our one son had to leave for home yesterday, so he would be back for work. He said the Highways weren’t all that bad till he hit the QEW. Other than that, he had a good trip up and back. Yesterday we took it easy chatting to our other son who is leaving today. All in all, we have had a great time.

On another note, it is a touch cool out there, waking up with the temperature sitting at -0.6 C | 30.92 F. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward with some sunshine, too. Which will make Thanksgiving Day quite nice. Highway 522 hasn’t been all that busy for the past couple days, but that is to be expected being a Holiday weekend. The leaves however are sure nice right now, and I am thinking we will be taking a drive to take some pictures in the coming days, before it’s too late. With this cold wet weather they have been dropping a lot. They sure look pretty right now though. Even nicer when the sun is shinning on them.

With that I am off for a cup of fresh perked coffee my lovely wife is making for us and will then have some sausage and eggs for a change. Occasionally we enjoy something different.
