Good Morning:  Another great looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Sun is shining, not to hot, not to cold and low humidity.  What could be better, other than it being a long weekend for some.  Also the first of August is when a lot of folks take their yearly holidays. Usually two weeks with pay which was earned.  Myself for most my life I was self-employed, other than a few years starting out.  So holidays didn’t come that often for my wife and I.  Now though is a different story.  Every day is a holiday and we enjoy them to the fullest. Sure lots of work has to be done each day, but its our day, to do with in what ever way we choose.  With that enjoy the day and look forward to tomorrow. The future is yours to make.

Good Morning:   Nice day here in Port Loring Ontario other than being quite warm.  Knowing that it would be a good day to find a cool place and take in what nature has to offer.  Yesterday I finished up two bird feeders which turned out nice. Good Morning: Looking like a nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Gardens had their well needed rain, which in turn made them grow immensely. Yesterday started on making a couple of bird feeders with Plexiglas sides so one can see if more feed is needed. I was thinking of buying one, but for the price they want these days it is much cheaper for me to make one. Sign of the times. Seems today folks want huge dollars for their work. I know things have changed costing more for materials but it hasn’t changed that much. Used to be a fair wage for a fair days work. Not so today by some folks standards. There are ways to get around this though and that is by shopping around. If the price is to high for the items you are getting, or the work they are putting out, tell them and move on. Another thing one has to watch when shopping in stores, is the sticker price. Price on the shelves say one thing, get up to the cash register and every so often it says another. One has to watch 24-7. Don’t be taken advantage of.

Good Morning:  Another nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada.  Not to hot, no humidity to speak of, sunny with a few clouds, companied with a light cool breeze. Kind of makes a feller want to get out of bed. Today will clean up my shop a bit was going to get at that yesterday but the mowing and customers kept me busy. Not complaining, as I do enjoy folks dropping by to say hi and visit our small store. Yesterday was a day for selling Native American Flutes.  Amazing how far folks will drive to get them. Good Morning: Well that was a warm one yesterday. But I did manage to get a few things done in the house that has been on my mind.  Today will be another day of taking things easy. I also felt sorry for my plants yesterday so gave them a drink from the rain barrel.  Hoping we get that rain they are calling for later in the day. Nothing quite like rain water to make things grow.  Our store has been quite busy this week with folks putting in some orders for signs and Flutes.  Also with our new natural health book that just came out, Natures Gateway To Health it has reached the 500 mark in sales yesterday, here from our home and on-line.  Great book with lots of information that anyone can put to use.  So with that, you all enjoy your day and take it a bit easy today till this heat dissipates. Good Morning: Being so warm decided against doing too much strenuous work yesterday and will ease off today and tomorrow as things are going to get even warmer.  Should start to cool come Thursday.  On another note I noticed my cucumbers showing off a touch.  They also like the heat and can tolerate it as the tomatoes, as long as they have lots of water.  Same goes for the pumpkins. Will pick our first Zucchini today, wife likes to add them to salads. They are also very good mixed in spaghetti sauce.  With that have a great day.  If you can pick a nice shady place, pull up a chair and a cool drink and take things easy.

Weather Forecast: Sunny day here for Port Loring Ontario.  Will get quite warm though with temperatures reaching up to near 35 C – 90 F.  Could even get higher. Care should be taken. Good Morning: Managed to get my lawn mowed yesterday or what needed it. Still a lot of dry areas that I stay off of being so dry. In the afternoon I headed on out to do some fishing once again with my buddy Barry.  Hot day out there on the water but had a great time.  Being so bright and hot the fish weren’t bitting that much.  We did hook on a few nice ones that got away from us.  Supper made up of one nice Bass.  Not complaining mind ya as any day out on the water is a good day.  Enjoy your day. Good Morning: Looking like a nice day here in Port Loring Ontario. Had some more rain overnight and yesterday which was just what we needed. Gardens grew so much if transplanted I would have enough for another. Corn sure picked up and pumpkins are running and out in bloom along with the Zucchini. Should be eating the Zucchini this week sometime. Today I will do some work on my fishing boat. My sons bought me a fish finder so going to see if I can get it to working and installed in a good location. My boat is a Vintage Feather Craft. Aluminum with sleek features. One of a kind for this area brought over from the USA many years ago. Out boating looking behind it leaves a spread of water like no other.  After that might just do some front porch sittin’ and enjoy a cool drink or two. One has to take advantage of this nice weather. Good Morning: Finally here in Port Loring we are getting some much-needed rain. Trees and gardens are looking good. Yesterday late in the day my friend Barry and I went out fishing for the first time this year.  Boat run good after its winter nap and had a great time.  We did hook on a few pike but threw them back as they were a touch small.  A bit later we both hooked onto a nice pickerel so wife and I will have a nice supper tonight.  No other fish here in the north tastes like pickerel.  I do like large mouth bass though, they are also quite tasty.. Talking about bass I was casting out from the boat in a weed bed and while bringing in my line I felt a few little nibbles, which I figured was a small fish of some kind.  I set the hook and told Barry that I got one but a small one. Thing I didn’t take into consideration was that it could be a big one, just heading in the same direction as I was. That is what happened.  A few feet from the boat up it went out of the water, shook the hook out of its mouth and gone. Really nice large mouth bass. Lesson to be learned if you get my meaning. Good Morning:  Cloudy day here in Port Loring and looks like it will remain that way for most of the day.  But on the bright side of things it is still nice and warm along with the bugs not being to bad. Fishing I hear hasn’t been the best for the past couple days but that is to be expected with the rain we had.  It will get better in the coming days.  Today I will thin out my tomato plants as they got way to much foliage on them at this time.  Trick of it is to remove the suckers, in doing so the tomatoes will get larger.  Yesterday we cut all our scapes from the garlic.  Wife chopped them up and put them in freezer bags for winter.  Great in soups, mixed in with meat or ground up for dips.  Enjoy your day.

Words Of Wisdom: If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there’d be a shortage of fishing poles.
