Well not much to report here again today. Did go to town again yesterday as my wife and I had some things to do for the Local Services Board here in town. I often wonder if the folks in our district really realize what we five members do behind the scenes. Not to forget our secretary Nancy. One also has to remember us five don’t make a cent, as it is all volunteer work. Not complaining mind ya, as i put in for the job a few years ago realizing what was involved, as the other four have done. Just that a lot goes on at the Local Service Board, all for the good of our community. Sure there are a few heated moments now and then, but for most parts with this Board i can honestly say, things are getting done. Things that will help our community grow and thrive for years to come. Also things are being put in place that will last for years after we five have left. Also guidelines that make it easier for new members to adapt. Yep the Local Services Board has changed over the past three years let me tell ya. A Board that one can come to, sit down an leave knowing exactly what is going on through out our community. How’s that? Sound OK? Best I can come up with at the moment. Have a great day my friends.

Cold weather will be upon us for a few days then things will warm up a touch, which is OK by me. I am actually really looking forward to summer this year, even more than the past few years. Can’t wait to get outside and do some front porch sittin’ enjoying the warm southerly breezes, along with soaking in some of that sunshine. Of course putting that old Giesler Boat in the water will be a priority come spring. I have to say that out of all the boats that I have ever owned my Giesler has been the nicest. Some say it takes to much work keeping them in shape, but I haven’t found it that way at all. I keep mine out of the direct sun when not in use, but other than that it fends for itself. Great boat and would recommend it to anyone that wants to do some serious fishing. The old saying is, that if your not fishing in a Giesler, your just not fishing. Enjoy your day my friends, that’s what she is all about.

Well took a trip to town yesterday to pick up a few items. Stores were packed with people and all carrying packages so…..that tells me they are spending money, at least in the North Bay. Even had a hard time finding a parking spot. At the end of the day we got what was needed and headed on home. As I always say, nice place to visit but sure is nice to be home. Ontario’s favorite Groundhog didn’t see his shadow on Groundhog Day, meaning winter is on the way out. For years I have watched this old critter and after examining the theory behind it all….. I have to say this; The old Groundhog is at the very least as accurate as our modern day system, if not, maybe a touch more accurate. Have a great day.

Not to much happening. I have been putting a lot of time working with the folks that are making us two nice 8 foot by 12 foot road signs for spring. One will be put in out by Lost Channel heading East. The other will be put up just past Highway 524 on Highway 522 heading west. Just about a mile or so on the right past what some call Farleys Corners. Both are going to be real nice signs which should last for years. I am working on a schedule that they both will be up before the 24th of May. Just in time for our busy season here in Port Loring & District. Lot of work but end results I am thinking it will be a gift that keeps on giving, and hey, we that live here deserve them. Long time coming.
