For those that suffer from allergies every spring, one has to remember, or should know that there is a fix to the problem. What would that be? Simple really. Again, one just has to use common sense and look at what nature has to offer. One doesn’t need all these allergy shots, or pills, or what ever. Through my eyes all they do is make the problem worse or bring on new problems. Think about this, most allergies come from pollen. Now comes the fix. Bees. yep bees is the answer. The bees goes out, collects the pollen, brings it back to the hive and makes honey. So if everyone took at couple table spoons of honey each day, they would soon find out that they don’t have any more allergies. Now in saying this, one should use nothing other than pure, unpasteurized honey. All the others won’t work and will in reality make the matters worse. Same as milk in theory, as unpasteurized milk fixes most body problems, where as pasteurized milk causes a lot of our problems. So, get your self prepared if you have allergies by simply picking up some raw honey and get to eating. And who said getting healthy is a long hard process. My Opinion Only.

Our two new highway signs will be installed with in the next month or so, one coming in from Highway 69 and one coming in from Highway 11. Long time coming and will finally let folks know who we are back here. I came up with the plan, a couple years back thinking that advertising in papers is not a bad thing, but it is a one time thing, and then ones money is gone. Two signs will advertise for our community for years and my way of looking at it is; it is money well spent. The gift that keeps on giving you might say. Have a great day.

Not much happening around town. Maple syrup for most parts is all finished up for the year. Now we just hope that the temperatures don’t drop really freezing cold as with the sap in the trees it could split them. Keep our fingers crossed on that. Yesterday I went to town so that is the reason I didn’t get to my morning post. I have to say that North Bay is sure a busy city. But that is a good sign, folks are out an about ,shopping and doing what they like to do best. That’s what life is all about. Have a great day my friends.

Around town not much happening. Weather is our biggest thing with temperatures in the high 70s. Yesterday I ended my maple syrup collecting for the year. Exactly one week to the day is all we really got this year. To bad too, as I was doing good there for a bit, but such is that. Today we will get into cleaning up the old shop and doing some yard work; with some front porch sittin’ thrown in for good measure; enjoying a fresh pot of organic perked coffee; flavoring it with our fresh home made maple syrup. Rough life huh? Have a great day.

Great day for any outdoor work let me tell ya. I took my spiels out of the maple trees this morning as they are running pure yellow sap and with temperatures so high some of the trees are starting to bud. Early I know, but what can you do. Only half as much syrup this year compared to last. Good day to do some front porch sittin’ and soak up some of that sunshine. Have a great day.
Humor for A Sunday Afternoon
A bit more humor;
A senior woman went to the doctor’s office where she was seen by one of the older doctors. After about four minutes in the examination room, she burst out screaming as she ran down the hall. A younger doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she told him her story. After listening, he had her sit down and relax in another room. The young doctor then marched down the hallway back to where the old doctor was writing on his clipboard.
“What did you do?!” the younger doctor demanded. “Mrs. Terry is 71 years old, has four grown children and seven grandchildren, and you told her she was pregnant?”
The older doctor continued writing and without looking up said, “Does she still have the hiccups?”
Humor For a Sunday Afternoon
My lovely sister Barb sent me this bit of humor so thought I would share. I really got a kick out of it.
Frank feared his wife Gloria wasn’t hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family doctor to discuss the problem. The doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give him a better idea about her hearing loss.
“Here’s what you do,” said the doctor. “Stand about 40 feet away from her and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.”
That evening, Gloria was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Frank was in the den. He said to himself, “I’m about 40 feet away, let’s see what happens.” Then in a normal tone he asked, “Honey, what’s for dinner?”
No response.
So Frank moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, “Gloria, what’s for dinner?”
Still no response.
Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, “’Honey, what’s for dinner?
Again he gets no response.
So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. “Honey, what’s for dinner?”
Again there is no response.
So he walks right up behind her and says, “Gloria, what’s for dinner?”
“For heaven’s sake, Frank! For the FIFTH time, CHICKEN!”

Warmer temperatures will stay with us for another week or so with plenty of sunshine. Sap is running but slowed down some yesterday, with no sunshine. Should pick up today later on when the sun makes her appearance. I tapped twenty trees this year, not to many compared to most, but enough to fill our needs. Just one more thing folks could do if they happen to have a few maples around their home. Nice thing about it, the syrup is good for ya, not like white sugar and corn syrup which is deadly. So….guess I will head on out to check my sap buckets, see if any run through the night and then get to boiling it down. Sure nice to be out and about let me tell ya. Have a great day my friends.
Health Issues
Had someone ask me today what I thought of an add that came out in the paper today; that said folks that might be struck with cancer have the option of cutting parts of their body off before it supposedly arrives or they even know they got it. Think on this. First off we all have cancer cells in our body millions of them. Most never get large enough to be noticed. Most never materialize to the point we need to even do anything about. And then again cutting, burning and things isn’t the answer. Nutrition is the answer. Strengthen you body, do the research, listen to you body, don’t be swayed into things that for most parts aren’t true. Take the blinders off, be your own person. What we have to come to realize is, that we all have to learn to live with cancer. It doesn’t have to be a death sentence, it’s an awakening, a reminder that our bodies are lacking some things. All the money we pour into killing cancer is not the way to go. Put that money into fixing our food system. Take the poisons out of food take the additives out of food. Its not our food what is the problem, what is in the food is what the problem is. All these man made chemicals is what is the cause of 99% of humans sickness, simple as that. What makes me such an expert? I am not, it’s just common sense. Its all there for every one to see, amazes me most can’t see it. My Opinion Only
Port Loring Weather & News
Good morning/ Well was out of town yesterday so didn’t get to adding the weather and things. Sun is shining this morning with temperature reaching 52°f today. Tonight it will drop a bit to 36°. Nice weather all week in the hight fifties with lots of sunshine. Barometer today this morning is sitting at 21.68 in Hg. and rising. Good sign. Winds are from the West and will turn southerly as the day goes by. They are coming in at around 3 MPH. I told folks to get them ice huts in off the ice a couple days ago and some didn’t listen and I see today in the paper of around twenty seven people stranded on ice that broke up on Lake Nipissing and had to be rescued. Ice Fishing is done up here for the year through my eyes, as one shouldn’t be out on the ice with temperatures reaching fifty with sunshine., my opinion to risky. I The moon will rise at 11:59 PM and then set at 8:57 AM. It will be overhead at 3:55 AM & underfoot at 4:24 PM. The sun woke this morning at 7:38 AM and will set at 7:20 PM, giving us here in Port Loring 11 hrs. 42 mins. of daylight. Highway 522 is bare and dry for most parts.
News For Port Loring & District
Ice fishing huts should be off the lakes as soon as possible. A bit of rain tomorrow an then sunshine all week with temperatures in the fifties. Also for those that do up some maple syrup, this is the week to get them trees tapped. Going to do mine today. Cold nights and sunny days it should be flowing quite well all week. Went to town yesterday and did a bit of shopping with my son, an visited him for a couple days. Have say the stores were just a buzzing with folks out and about, in spite of all the snow they had there. While I was in CTC picking up some antifreeze for my radiator to top it up, we had over four inches come down. After that the roads were major slippery. But folks were on their best behavior and not too many accidents. Stores are busy with folks buying. Restaurants are packed with folks enjoying an meal away from home. My son actually took us to Casey’s and I have to tell you, if you haven’t been there give them a try. My most favorite, is there trio, Turkey club with salad and red pepper soup. I have never tasted any better and prices are very good. Well tea time here and then I will get outside and get to enjoying some of that sunshine that is showing itself. Something folks should know. Most folks today are so worried about high cholesterol taking drugs of all kinds to lower it. Thing they don’t tell ya is this. If one would get out in the sunshine there would be no such thing as high cholesterol. Folks seem to think that the sunshine is Vitamin D, well in one way it is, but in reality what the sun does, it changes the cholesterol to vitamin D, and other good things. Then the cholesterol in your bloodstream migrates to the surface of the skin, to replace the cholesterol that was converted to D and other good things. There the sun in simple terms, just sucks up the Cholesterol from your skin. So if every one got the sunshine needed, there would be no such thing as high cholesterol. Amazing huh? And folks take pill after pill after pill. Do the research my friends and don’t be fooled, no one knows your body better than you do. My Opinion Only. Have a great day.

With temperatures being close to fifty yesterday and winds coming in from the south, then rain for most the night, the snow is about half gone. If temperatures continue to be warm, which they will after tomorrow, all our snow will be gone by middle of next week.
