Port Loring Information, Fishing Times & Weather

Good Morning:  Not to bad of a morning so far.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…17.8 C | 64.04 F.  Will warm up a touch a bit later.

Forecast For Today:  Stormy, much rain.

Bug Report:  All is well within our area.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from…10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  Then again from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Today fishing will be at its peak for the year.  No reason why folks shouldn’t have fish for supper.

Around Town:  Later on this afternoon our Cornfest takes place, starts at 3:00 PM.  For all the information click on the flyer in the post below this one.  On another note, went to North Bay Yesterday to visit our son, go for lunch and pick up some groceries.  Lots of folks out and about with traffic backed up on all roads and highways.  Great to see folks out and about for sure.  Also I should mention here that Ontario Fresh Fruit is in the stores now and it is my opinion that everyone should be picking up a basket of peaches, nectarines or pears.  There is nothing more healthier for you than fresh fruit.  The good thing is…it is grown right here in Southern Ontario.  There is no better anywhere in the world.  I picked up a basket of each yesterday myself and what a treat.  Better get them fast my friends as they don’t last for very long. Also the peaches are freestones right now which makes it much much easier for those making jams, jellies, freezing or putting in jars.  So on that note, don’t forget to support your local establishments, and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Port Loring Information, Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:   Well this morning waking up temperatures were sitting at 9.3 C | 48.74 F.  It did get down to 7.8 C at 6:00 AM this morning.  So things are starting to cool off some in our area.

Forecast For Today:  Fairly fine, possible showers, early, then more clouds than sun.

Bug Report:  All is well in our area other than in the bush or evening hours.  Then the mosquitoes make their appearance, but not so bad.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from…8:30 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then once again from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 4 for catching them this morning and a 4 fish rating out of 4 this afternoon.  Can’t get much better than that my friends.  Good luck to you.

Around Town. Well it’s the day before out Cornfest here in town.  Flyer is below for anyone interested in the particulars.  Click to enlarge.  Other news, not much to report.  Things are slowing down with the kids going back to school.  Parents and young ones are busy shopping along with getting prettied up for their arrival in either a new grade or school.  Kind of an exciting day for the kids to say the least.  Myself when I went to school there wasn’t much change.  The old one room schoolhouse was the same year after year.  We did get to move to a different row though, which was something special to us back then.  There was only one teacher, teaching all eight grades.  The school had around fifty young one and you know…that teacher had time to deal with each one of us directly.  Something unheard of today.  Back then our teachers were an amazing sort to say the least.  Kind of like our doctors back then, as one doctor would look after hundreds of folks travelling door to door in all kinds of weather for miles and always had a friendly face when arriving.  Along with a great bed side manner too, which has all been lost in today’s world.  Have a great day.  ltss-0362

Port Loring Happenings, Weather & FIshing Times

Good Morning:  Nice looking day this morning.  Got a touch cool for this time of year through the night, but sure was nice for sleeping.  I always figure if a blanket is needed sleep is at its best.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at…10.1 C | 50.18 F.  Will warm up considerably as the day progresses.

Forecast For Port Loring: Fairly fine, improving.  All and all a really pleasant day.

Bug Report:  Not to much to report here in this department.  Few mosquitoes and deerflies but nothing that would stop someone from enjoying the outdoors.

Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there will be from…7:00 AM – 1:30 AM.  Then again a bit later from 3:00 – 5:30 PM. I give it a 3 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Pretty good day for catching fish.

Around Town:   A touch quiet the past two days.  Things are winding down for the season as kids are heading back to school next week.  Folks are heading off to the big chain stores for clothes and things, outfitting their young ones with what they think is needed.  Reports are coming in that stores in the cities are quite busy.  Other than that our Cornfest is going to be upon us this weekend.  You can click the flyer below on the previous post for all the details.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Lorning Information, Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:   Well some sun is upon us this morning which should bring a smile to everyone’s face.  Temperatures this morning waking up were sitting at…11.1 C | 51.98 F.  Will warm up to around 21 C / 70 F a bit later.

Forecast For Today:  Fairly fine, possible showers early then we will have intervals of clouds and sun for most the day with not as much humidity.  No reason for anyone to complain today, at least about the weather.   Seems over the years the four most interesting topics that folks choose to chat about is.. Politics,  Religion, Getting Old and the Weather.

Bug Report:  Just great out there these days with hardly a bug to be seen.  Unless of course venturing back in the bush in the evening hours. But even there with a camp fire going one can have some enjoyable moments.

Fishing Times:  Well this morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Thinking it will be a great day to catch a few.  Good Luck.

Around Town:   Today if one is out an about stopping off at the Farmers Market would be a delightful option.  Or any of the other stores in our area would welcome you too.  We have a lot to offer folks if one just takes the time to seek them out.  Treasures beyond your imagination just waiting to be found one might say.  For all the information relating to the Cornfest which is fast approaching,  the farmers market today and our small store  click flyers below.  Have a great day.

Around Town:  Well as I keep on mentioning here on the Blog, it is a festive time of year and here in Port Loring Ontario we have a great event closing in on us.  Our yearly Cornfest. For all the details relating to this event click flyer below.  Also one shouldn’t forget our Farmers Market…it is winding down for the year, so you won’t want to miss it this coming Wednesday.  For times, location and things you can also click that flyer below for better viewing.  Other than that not much more to report.  I am headin’ off for a nice cup of turmeric tea and then to the shop to work on another batch of flutes.  I have to say it has been a full year just keeping up with orders.  But then…I enjoy making them. We have a great selection if your thinking of getting one, for you or a friend.  Oh and should mention I just finished up a Branch Flute and every now and then a really special one comes along.  It along with many others will be up for sale within a week…once my lovely wife has done her part in prettying it up some.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Loring Ontario, Weather, Fishing Times & Information

Good Morning:   Well really nice looking day out there once again this morning. Temperatures dropped last night so that one could put a sheet over themselves.  Slept like  log.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at…14.9 C | 58.82 F.  Will warm up considerably as the day moves ahead.

Forecast For Today: Fairly fine, improving even more given some time.

Bug Report: No activity of any kind in and around our area other than a few mosquitoes and deerflies if out in the bush.

Fishing Times: This morning after putting things together the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there will be from..9:00 AM – 11:45 AM.  Then once again from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.  I give it a 3 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Things are improving for sure.  Today I recommend live bait, be it minnows, worms or leeches.  All three will give the advantage over lures today.  Let line down to bottom and raise up about a half a foot.  Nothing more to do now than to sit, relax and take in what nature has to offer till the big one hits.  Good Luck.

Around Town:  Lots of cars moving up and down Highway 522 yesterday.  So in reality that is a good sign that a new crowd of tourist have arrived over the weekend.  I expect a busy week for our stores here in Port Loring.  My wife drove a good friend to North Bay yesterday that wasn’t feeling well, hopefully on the mend now.  She said the stores were really busy there with check out lines quite long.  I suspect they will be for the next few weeks, with folks getting the young ones outfitted for school, as it opens back up next week.  So my friends, enjoy that sunshine and warm weather and don’t forget about the Cornfest, which will start this coming weekend.  Flyer is on the previous post for those that would like to see all that is happening.

Port Loring Information, Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:   Well another day is upon us and a sunny one at that. Temperatures waking up were sitting at…16.9 C | 62.42 F.

Forecast For Today:  Showery early, improving as the day moves forward.

Bug Report:    Great time of year to enjoy the outdoors without being annoyed by insects.  Take it all in my friends, summer doesn’t enter into ones life and stay for very long.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there with line in water will be from…8:30 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then again a bit later from 2:45 PM – 5:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating for catching them this morning and a 3 fish rating out of 4 this afternoon.  Good luck.

Around Town:  Well our Local Services Board had their election for the up coming year and some changes were made.  The new board is as follows… Dan Brooks, Mike Buchanan, Luke Legault, Tim Gehrke and Warren Whitehead. There were 9 nominations to choose. The minutes should be out next week.  Great to see a couple new folks now and then taking up the challenge, as new, brings new ideas into full circle.  Also great to see we still have some older members on board, as they are so important in helping the new ones get organized and on the right track. Without them things would be a shambles.

On another note its a great day by the looks of it and I suspect I will do some front porch sitting and soak up some of that sunshine that has been so scarce for the past few weeks.  Nothing on this green earth is better for you.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Loring Information, Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:   Well another rainy day here in Port Loring Ontario.  Thinking maybe we are in the subtropics or some place like that, with all the rain we have been having.  Amazing how much we have had this year.  Will be interesting to say the least in seeing what kind of winter we get.  Not that I like the cold mind ya.  Waking up the temperatures were sitting at…18.1 C | 64.58 F.  Winds were coming in from the…303 deg | WNW.

Forecast For Today:  Changeable, mending as the day moves forward.  If things goes to plan we should see a bit of sunshine later on.  Tomorrow and days after are looking a lot nicer with lots of sunshine and warmer temperatures.  Lets hope it prevails for the rest of the summer.

Bug Report:  Nothing out there in great quantities bothering us humans.  Rainy, wet, cool days have kept them at bay. Might say it has kept us at bay also.

Fishing Times:  This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then again from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  Not the greatest day to be catching them. Might get lucky.  Thinking though a rain coat will be in order if out and about.

Around Town:   Things are moving along these days. Tourists have made their appearance bringing in much needed currency to the region.  With out them we would surely be a lost community to say the least.  I have to say this has been a really successful year at our store here in Port Loring.  Folks from all walks of life dropping by to take in what we have to offer.  My wife and I thank you all for that.  Other business’s have also been doing quite well, at least the ones I have chatted with.

On another note, veggie gardens are getting a bit more than needed soakings, with all the rain that has been dumped upon us.  In spite of the rain though it is amazing really how well things have been growing. I have found that height and growth is the key features this season.  Never has their been a year here in Port Loring,  for such vegetative states amongst all plants.  Sure sign that something is happening with our environment.  Thinking we will be seeing some major changes in our weather patterns over the next few years.   Some places will fair quite well with these changes, for others it will be disastrous. Time will tell as it does with all.  So on with my day.  Exciting just to see what comes our way, all is new and things just waiting in the wings to happen.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Forecast For Today:   Unsettled, short fine intervals as the day progresses.  Should see some sunshine here and there.

Bug Report:  Really nice out there actually with no annoying insects to bother a feller or gal.  Or not enough to stop one from enjoying what nature has to offer.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick is saying that the best time to be out there with line in water will be from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  Then a bit later from 4:45 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating this morning out of 4 for catching them and a 3 fish rating this afternoon for catching them.  So should catch a few I would suspect.  Nothing beats fresh fish, caught and cooked up.  Good Luck.

Port Loring Weather, Fishing Times & Information

Good morning:   Well nice sunny morning waking up.  Temperatures were sitting at     9.7 C | 49.46 F.  Will warm up in a bit once the sun gets to doing her job. You can view all the detailed weather data here at our very own weather station, located right here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada.  Click the following link.. http://www.loringlsb.ca/weather-station/

Forecast For Today:   Rain at frequent intervals later on in the day and into tonight.

But Report:   Other than a few mosquitoes irritating those who have perfume or man made chemicals on their skin, it is pretty good out there.

Fishing Times:   This morning the old weather stick along with the data that is coming in says the best time to be out there will be from..8:30 AM – 2:00 PM.  Then again from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 4 for catching them this morning and later on possibly a 3 fish rating out of 4.  Should be able to have some fish for supper.  Good Luck.

Around Town:  Most places in town are doing well.  Some resorts are down in attendance, but that is understandable with the weather being as it has been.  But there is still a couple weeks left in the month and if things goes to plan we should see some really nice warm sunny days.  Temperatures will stay near 23 C / 73 F.  Can’t get much better than that.  On another note my wife and I have been quite busy with sales this year in our small store.  Native American Flutes are selling as fast as I can make them. Guess 45 years of making them is paying off with folks enjoying their serene sound of existence.  Still got a good selection though, as I did make up quite a few earlier in the year.  Good thing I did.  My Lovely Wife’s Paintings are also selling quite well in galleries and here at our store and on line.  She has a  hard time keeping them in the stores, as folks have been picking them up quite rapidly.  But it is to be expected though, as she is a talented Artist to say the least.  She paints irresistible abstracts, to nature scenes consisting of all kinds of animals along with nature of all kinds, refined in such a way, that when looked upon they hold your mind in wonder and amazement for hours on end.  Lots more of her paintings are in the works for the coming months which I am sure will take you on a visual adventure to only be exceeded by…owning one.  You can view some of her work here at her new web site, which will be added to in the near future.  That is my job and being so busy I just haven’t had time to do the work that is needed on it, but that will change in the coming weeks.  Click The Following Link..    https://ruth-walters.squarespace.com/      Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Loring Ontario, Weather, Bug Report, Fishing Times & Information

Good Morning:   Well cool morning out there starting out.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…8.9 C | 48.02 F. But will warm up some as the day moves forward.  Got down to 6.2 C last night at the lowest point.

Forecast For Today:     Changeable, mending and for a change of pace it will be mostly sunny today.  So….some front porch sitting will be put on the agenda today for sure.   Need to soak up some of them rays for sure after all the cloudy days we have had.

Bug Report:   Pretty good bug wise these days, but last night I found the mosquitoes quite bad.  Was glad to get into the house away from them.  All the wet weather has contributed to their existence a bit I am thinking.  But through the day they are tolerable.

Fishing Times:  Today the old weather stick along with the data put together says the best time to be out there will be from..9:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  Then once again from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  I did manage to get out yesterday with my good friend Barry, tried a new spot using his boat and things.  Not so lucky this time out, didn’t catch a thing.  Put the north wind together with all the rain we have been having, has messed up the fishing somewhat.  But only for a few days.  Other than not catching any fish yesterday I had a great time, as I always do with Barry.  Just good to get out.

Around Town:  Not to much to report here this morning.  Farmers Market is still up and running every Wednesday.  Cornfest is closing in on us also.  Kind of makes me wonder where the summer went.  Times sure  does fly by these days.  Kids will be heading back to school in a couple weeks also, with parents out buying all new clothes and things to make their journey to a new grade exciting.   So my friends, get outside today and enjoy that sunshine, soak up some rays, breath in some of that fresh air and get some exercise.  Do all that and no flu shot will be needed this winter.  Easy, simple and a whole lot better for your constitution.

Port Loring Ontario, Weather, Fishing Times & Information

So how you all doing this morning?  Good I hope.  Crazy weather sure isn’t adding to ones pleasure that’s for sure. But on the bright side the old saying is, that messy weather brings families closer together.  Could have some substance to them words.  Temperatures were still cool waking up, sitting at…13.5 C | 56.3 F.

Forecast For Today:   Stormy, much rain with a thunderstorm this morning followed by a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon.   But tomorrow things will change and some sunshine will be upon us.  Winds have changed from the north to the south which is another good factor.  One more day of this wet stuff my friends.

Bug Report:   Well when the rain stopped yesterday for a wee bit the mosquitoes were raring to go.  Found that out while picking my tomatoes.  But not really enough to irritate a feller to much.  Other than that things are pretty good.

Fishing Times:  Well I will give them but can’t see anyone heading out to the water today.  Taking things in order that they are presented along with the old weather stick, the best time to be out there will be from 9:00 AM –  11:30 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 5:45 PM.  Good luck with that.

Around Town:  Not to much to report here this morning.  Although I should mention that our Cornfest is in the works and for all the information you can click the flyer below.  Did  manage as I stated above that I picked my first bushel of tomatoes yesterday.  Brought them in and will get to doing them up and putting them in jars tomorrow morning.  Maybe should do it today as it would warm up the house some.  Hmm have to see about that.  Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.  So enjoy your day my friends, stay dry and warm, better weather is heading our way for tomorrow.

Port Loring Ontario Canada, Weather, Information & Fishing Times

Good Morning:  Well once again it is cloudy and damp.  But things will improve as most things do in life when given time.  Waking up this morning temperatures were sitting at..10.7 C | 51.26 F.

Forecast For Today:     Showery early,  then improving.  If things goes to plan we should see some sunshine later on today and in to tomorrow.  Also things will warm up some.  Almost a whole week of no sunshine.  Doesn’t make for a happy camper, one could say.

Bug Report:    None to speak of out there in this weather.  Will start to see a few mosquitoes once the sun moves upon us later but none in great amounts.

Fishing Times:  This morning taking all things into consideration, including the old weather stick, it is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then a bit later from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4 for catching them this morning and a 2 fish rating out of 4 this afternoon.  Good luck.

Around Town:  Folks have refrained from moving around for a bit, weather being such as it is. But once the sun comes out things will get back to its norm.   Veggie garden is sure in need of sunshine.  Tomatoes though are ripening fast on the vine.  This year being so wet I left them on to ripen to their fullest potential before picking and preserving.  In-spite of the rain and cloudy sky’s we will still have a great crop, which was brought on from our sunny sky’s earlier in the month.  My lovely wife tries to do up between sixty and a hundred jars a year.  Seems to be the magic number, which lasts a family of 4 for one season.  Quart jars that is.  Other items are doing quite well too.  Pumpkins are in abundance as our squash.  English cucumbers are being eaten daily and relish is in the jars waiting till winter arrives to sample.  Not that I didn’t have a taste or two already.  Corn is climbing to ten feet or better with cobs hanging, just a waiting for the sunshine to fill them with flavour.  So all and all my friends, things are turning out great.  Seems Mother Nature has a way of looking after herself and us humans no matter what the weather brings upon us.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Fishing Times:   This morning the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM.  Then again a bit later from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4 for catching them this morning.  Then later on I give it a 2 fish rating out of 4.  So fishing will improve along with the weather.

Around Town:   I had to go to town yesterday to pick up a few items and passed our Farmers Market.  Have to say it was quite busy.  Which is a good thing.  Great to see folks out and about supporting our locals.  I mentioned I had a dentist drop by the other day and yesterday found out that my son is having some problems with one of his back choppers.  He did manage to get into a dentist which put a temporary filling in between the two teeth with something in it to stop the pain.  Had it done in the morning of yesterday and was still hurting last night, so hoping he is on the mend this morning.  Nothing is worse than a toothache as I know from years gone by.    Feel bad when ever I hear of anyone suffering with teeth problems.  So…tea time here, then see what the day brings upon us.  All good I hope.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Loring Ontario, Canada: Information, Weather & Fishing Times

Good Morning:   Well a bit cool this morning with more rain in the making.  Temperatures waking up were sitting at…13.5 C | 56.3 .

Forecast For Today: Stormy, much rain.  Things will steadily improve though starting tomorrow.  Although it will be quite cool for the remainder of today and in to tomorrow.  After that though things are looking good.

Bug Report:   Hardly a one interfering with us humans.  Cold windy weather is holding them at bay.  OK by me too.

Fishing Times: Today the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there will be from 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM.  Then once again later on towards evening from: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  I give it a 1 fish rating out of 4. Not the greatest as our weather pattern is messing things up some.  But in saying that, the fishing in our area has never been so good. This year has been exceptional for catching, Pike, Pickerel and Large Mouth Bass.  I haven’t heard of one person that hasn’t caught their limit.  Reason being the water has stayed cool this year, which entices the fish to feed more often.  Also makes them frisky which makes for lots of action bringing them in.  Good luck.

Around Town:   Today is Market Day here in Port Loring.  I am thinking it would be in ones best interest to drop by and see what they have to offer.  Being that the Market is covered, rain isn’t a factor and what better place to take in on days like this. Might pay to bring along a jacket of sort.  Also don’t forget our other gift shops and stores here in Port Loring.  They also rely on you folks to stay afloat, so to speak.  Most put a lot of time, work and effort into their products, so that you have the best to choose from.  Also remember this.  When and where ever possible, try and buy Canadian Made Products.  After all…this is Canada.  Enjoy your day my friends.  Click Flyer Below for all the details relating to the Farmers Market.  Also if your in the area drop by our small store, you can click that flyer below also for information on how to get to us and a few items we have to offer.  All made right here in Canada.

Port Loring Ontario Canada: Weather, Events, Fishing Times & Tips

Good Morning: A bit damp this morning from the rain we had through the night.  We had 15 mm of rain from last night till early this morning.  Temperatures have dropped to 17.4 C | 63.32 F.  Quite pleasant for sleeping or working.

Forecast For Today:   Stormy, much rain.  Cooler weather will be with us for two more days with Thursday being the coldest.  Could get down to around 50 F / 14 C Thursday morning.  After that will get back up to the normal temperatures.  So some inside work is in store I would think, or maybe a trip to the city to pick up supplies.

Bug Report:     With these East winds coming in  this morning there is hardly a bug to be seen or felt for that matter.

Fishing Times & Tips:    Today the old weather stick along with the data that is flowing in says the best time to be out there will be from: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Then once again from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  I give it a 2 fish rating out of 4 for catching them.  If out one might take a rain coat.  But I would suspect most would put fishing on the back burner for a day or so, weather being as such.  For those still wanting to go out, today I would recommend any live bait.  Days like this calls for the real thing.  Good luck.

Around Town:    Today is a touch quiet but that is to be expected as folks are staying in where it is dry.  Tomorrow morning is our Market Day with lots happening there.  One can click flyer below to view all the details, times and such.  Also one should remember that our Cornfest is approaching fast and for all the information pertaining to that you can click on that flyer also.  Two great events in one small town.  Enjoy your day my friends.

Port Loring Ontario, Canada: Events, Weather, Fishing Times & Tips

Good Morning:  Great looking day out there this morning.  Temperatures were sitting at 15.6 C | 60.08 F waking up.

Forecast For Port Loring:   Stormy, much rain is to come.  Hoping it is later on this evening which I suspect is the case.  Also the rain will be around for a couple days by the looks of the way the data is shaping up.  Today though we should see sunshine along with the temperatures rising quite substantially.   Will be a warm one as this leading front of hot air makes its appearance.  But it will be replaced by cooler air tomorrow.  Temperatures tomorrow will be much lower in the 60s, or if your into metric, around 15 C.

Bug Report:   Other than a few mosquitoes and deerflies things are pretty good.

Fishing Times & Tips:  This morning  the old weather stick is saying that the best times to be out there fishing will be from 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM.  Then once again from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM and finally one more time from 5:45 PM – 7:30 PM.  Great day for fishing, maybe one of the best this year.  I give it a 4 fish rating out of 4.  Today my suggestion is to use what ever you like in lures and live bait.  Live bait would be my pick of the litter.  Minnows being on top of the list.  14Great place to buy your bait and things, is Gohm’s right here in Port Loring Ontario. Won’t find a nicer feller’ than Reg.

Around Town:   Things are quite busy as a norm for this time of year. Cars and trucks moving up and down highway 522 in abundance.  Great to see folks out and about.  Had a nice chap drop by yesterday, a Dentist in profession, residing at Lost Channel.  Nice fellow and we had a pleasant chat.  He enjoys the blog each morning and made a point of stopping by and letting me know.  Also picked up one of my latest books.  Nice to hear from folks and would like to thank him once more for taking the time.  So thinking now I will head on outside and take in what nature has to offer and enjoy my morning tea.  Seems nothing soothes the body and soul more than a good cup of tea, made, using our cold fresh water given to us free of all chemicals.  At least here at our home.  Will also soak up some of that sunshine that our body needs so badly.  Remember, for great health, one should expose their skin to the sunshine no less than fifteen minutes a day.  Early morning sun being the best. Want to lower your cholesterol with out medication…stay healthy?  This is the way to do it.  No Doctors Needed if you look towards what nature has to offer.  Enjoy Your Day My Friends.

Port Loring Ontario Canada: Weather, Events, Fishing Times & Tips

Good Morning:   Another really good looking day out there.  Waking up temperatures were sitting at..14.4 C | 57.92 F.  Will warm up quite a bit as the day moves forward.  Summer is finally here.

Forecast For Port Loring & District: Possibly showery early,  then improving.

Bug Report:  All is well with hardly a bug bothering anyone.  Can’t get much better than this.

Fishing Times & Tips:  Today looking at things, the old weather stick included, it looks like the best times to be out there fishing will be from..8:00 AM – 1:30 PM.  Then a bit later from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM.  I give it a 4 fish rating for catching them out of 4.  Can’t get any better than that.  Item of preference today in the line of lures would be a  Fluorescent UV Spoon, small hook size..  Weight would be 7/8 oz.  Add a piece of worm to it and you are in business. This lure is great for long casts and gets deep even in fast-moving waters.  Also great for trolling.  You can usually purchase these lures for around $5.00 or so.  Just one more piece that one can add to their collection.  Good luck out there today. Around Town:   Lots happening in and around Port Loring. Resorts that I have talked to are all doing quite well in bookings.  Stores are also doing well which is a great thing as up here in the north we don’t really get too many months that allows the money to flow in.  On another note the Cornfest is edging closer to  us here in Port Loring.  Just one more great event that will take place, bringing folks together for a fun time.  Great to be a part of it.  Click Flyer below to catch all the details pertaining to it.  ltss-0362
