Good Morning!

For a change we are waking up to some sunshine which is sure nice. The temperature is still somewhat cool, sitting at 0.9 C | 33.62 F. It will have to warm up a lot more than that, if we want to get rid of the snow we have left. But the warmer weather is heading our way starting on Saturday, and it will continue getting warmer after that. So patience is in order for those of that are yearning for some front porch sitting. Highway 522 is bare and dry after our ice storm yesterday. We were lucky as the high winds we had didn’t knock out our power. They flickered off and on a few times, but that was it. We did have some large branches broken off of some of our large red pines, caused by the wind and ice. So we will have to clean them up, when it warms up.

On another note, Easter is almost upon us, which will make the working man somewhat happy, as they will have a day off from work. Other than most farmers, that is, as their chores needs to be done 7 days a week. My wife and I lived that lifestyle for most of our lives. Today, we don’t have the farms anymore, but we still have the country to wake up to every morning.

Two of our boys are coming for a visit this weekend, we see them two times a year. Living where we do, so far away from them, makes it difficult for us to see them on a regular basis. But we make the best of it.

Yesterday I did work a wee bit on my new mystery novel I have in the works and I probably will do the same today off and on. I do have a few things to do getting ready for our visitors that will be arriving sometime tomorrow.

With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is making for me.

Have a great day! GW

Good Morning!

As it might be a good morning in some ways, it sure isn’t weather wise. Overnight, we had thunderstorms rolling in from all directions, along with some severe lightning. Our old house was a shaking. Sure is amazing how powerful Mother Nature can be when she wants to be. The downside of things other than what I just mentioned, is that the temperature is hovering right around the freezing mark, -0.3 C | 31.46 F. Which is causing a lot of ice build up on all the trees and things. If the sun happens to come out, which I don’t think it will today, things will sure look pretty out there. We will have to wait and see how that pans out. Tomorrow, however, the sun will return and remain with us for a week or so, which will be nice. And things will start to warm up nicely by the weekend. I think in about a week, all of our snow will be gone. I hope so, as it’s been a long winter, not as cold as most, but just the same I am tired of it.

Highway 522 is mostly bare, but there are some icy sections throughout. My thinking is it would be a good day to stay home and wait till this storm runs its course.

On another note, I didn’t do all that much yesterday. My wife and I kind of took it easy, recouping from our trip to town on Monday. Today I will see if I can do some more work on my new Mystery Novel I have on the go.

With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal and a piece of toast that my lovely wife is making from me, and then I will see what the day has in store other than what I have planned.

Have a great day! GW

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy morning, waking up. The temperature at the time of this post was sitting at -0.8 C | 30.56 F. We could see some freezing rain later on today, but … we could also see some sunshine. The good news is that starting next week, things will really start to warm up, which makes me happy.

On another note, we sure had a miserable morning yesterday, waking up to a blizzard which amounted to another 4 inches of wet heavy snow. And of course it was a day that my wife and I had to go to town, as she had a dentist appointment. Which didn’t go too well, as she was put on antibiotics for seven days. After that, she has to go back to get it removed. They did try to remove it, giving here five needles, but the freezing wouldn’t take. So she wasn’t a happy camper, that’s for sure. She went through a lot. But not much we could do about it.

Once we had them out of our hair, we picked up a few groceries, and headed on home. Once home, we both went to bed. Between the snow we had to drive through and the dentist, we were all in but our shoelaces, and they were hanging out. Ha ha. The snow we did have however was gone for our trip home. At least something went well.

Today we will both take it easy. We need to get rested up as this weekend is when the Masters Golf Tournament starts. We never miss it. With all the beautiful flowers and green grass on the course, it gives us the feeling that spring is here. We look forward to it every spring.

With that I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is putting together and will then see what the day has in store other than what we have planned.

Have a great day! GW

Good Morning!

It’s a sunny morning, waking up. Which is sure nice. However, even with the sunshine, it is still quite cold outside. The temperature climbing out of bed was sitting at -10.6 C | 12.92 F. It will warm up a touch above the freezing mark as the day moves forward. Tomorrow, though, we will see the temperature rise up even further to where a person could sit outside. And the remainder of the week it will get even warmer. Which by the end of the week ahead should get rid of most of our snow. I hope so, as I am sure tired of waking up to snow and cold every morning.

Yesterday I didn’t do all that much other than chat to my wife. She has had a problem with a tooth which is hurting her and being the weekend no dentists work so….. she has had to suffer it out and will have to till tomorrow. I will then take her to North Bay and see if we can find someone to fix the problem. It is hard to get things done these days. I am hoping we can find someone that will help. We will see.

With that I am off for my breakfast and after that I will see how things are going. Have a great day. GW

What’s Happening on March 31/2023

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy morning waking up, and along with that we are having a bit more snow. The snow will remain with us for most of the day. Kind of figures, as yesterday I had my snow tires removed for summer. But in saying that. My wife and I don’t have any plans on going anywhere for the next few days.

So here we are on the final day of March.
Well … time really seems to pass quickly these days.
In some respects, it’s a positive thing, but in other aspects, namely with regard to aging, I kind of wished it would slow down a little bit. But there is nothing much one can do about that. At least for now.

But you know!

I think the way we live and connect to our bodies will probably significantly change in a few years.
Right now Drug firms are working hard to maintain their positions, but I have a hunch they won’t be the ones that will protect us from illnesses, pollution, and a host of other problems.
Scientists will likely create a kind of human body that is resistant to such things.
Of course, this is just my own opinion.
Time will reveal all.

On a different subject, yesterday I worked on my next mystery novel once again.
I finished it, which is good news—at least for me.
Now it is checking it again and possibly making a few tweaks here and there. I’ll say that again – possibly making a lot of tweaks here and there.
I’ll have to wait and see how that turns out.
After that, it will be left in the hands of my readers.

With that, I am off for some pancakes with some fresh local Maple Syrup, that my lovely wife is preparing for me; which should give me the energy that I will be needing for the day.

Have a great day and stay safe. GW

What’s Happening On March 30/2023

Good Morning!

It’s a sunny morning here for a change. However, the sun might be up this morning and showing itself, but it’s cold outside with the temperature sitting at -12.1 C | 10.22 F. lt will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good for those in need of a few things in the cities.

We have had a lot of melting over the past week or so, but we still have a good foot of snow in most areas around our home. It will be nice to get rid of it all. Once the snow gets down to a couple inches, it won’t take long then.

On another note, I am still working away on my new Mystery Novel and today should get the ending wrote. After that it is editing and putting it into book size along with setting things up, so it can be read on a book reader. Still lots to do, but it is at least wrote, other than a few changes I might make while editing.

With that, I am off for Florida Grapefruit along with a couple pieces of raisin bread that my lovely wife is making for me.

Have a great day! GW
