Well I guess it is now law that all boaters must have an Operators Card to operate a boat, doesn’t matter what size neither. I myself had to bite the bullet and take the test which I did and did quite well. You will have to take the time and read the book and do a bit of studying for a few nights if you want to pass. You will need around 75% to pass. There is 36 questions multiple choice. Below is the link of the company I dealt with and found them to be very good. Click Link Below which will take you directly to where you can take your Exam. Have a safe, enjoyable summer.

I am no fireman that’s for sure, but I do know when and when not to be doing any burnin, like brush piles and things like that. Reason being this year more than other years, that it is exceptionally dry. Wouldn’t take much to start off a major fire here in the north. So be careful and if you must light a fire make sure you take the pracautions necessary. Below is a link to the Nugget News Paper in North Bay which sheds some more light on the subject. Click link below.

Well vegetable garden is planted, one flat of tomatoes, Better Boy this year. Hope I am not disappointed as I usually put in Early Girl or Glamour. So time will tell I suppose. I also put in some bush peas, potaoes, cucumbers for pickling, broccoli, Brussel Sproutes, radishes, corn, cabbage, regular and red. Total cabbage plants around ten or so, enough for us. I also got herbs of all kinds a growing and if them pesky black flies let up some I might just get my corn seed in the ground. Man they are bad out there this morning. I was telling folks that they weren’t bad this year but, wrong……………………………… LOL Oh well such is that and they are the joys of living in the north. One thing is they usually disappear as fast as they come. From Mothers Day To Fathers Day is their days I always say. Also very dry this year and it is a constant on going thing to keep the plants watered. As it is the shock from transplanting is taking a toll on them. Usually they are ok but this year it got so hot so quick, well it is hard on all the tender plants. Should toughen up in the coming days, or I hope they do. Oh and also put in some zucchini, around five or so plants.

Hi folks, for years on the farm we worked with Mother Nature. I say worked with her, as there is just no other Way. She gives you clues and if your up on some of her ways, well your ahead of the game. So……………..for those that aren’t sure whether to cover your tomato plants at nights in case of frost, let me show you an easy way to find what the night time temperatures will be. First off you need to know what the Dew Point Temperatures, between Noon and One, Once you know that, you will know what the lowest it will be for the following night. Simple huh? Has worked for me for many years. Don’t be in to much of a rush in getting them seeds into the ground either. Better to wait till night time temperatures stay above fifty.

For most parts we don’t really know what is going on in the Gulf of Mexico with the oil spill. Some say a certain amount of oil is being poured into it, some say more. Myself I believe the situation is actually much worse than what the Powers That Be want you to believe.
I would think millions of gallons of oil is covering the Gulf right now. Thing is folks, if this oil makes it way into the Gulf Stream currents, well lets just say it wouldn’t be good. Even as it is right now the impact from the oil will take hundreds of years to clean up. I don’t think they can clean it up to what it once was.
The one thing we have to realise, is that we can’t live without the oceans, and what are we doing. With man’s greed we might have just set loose a giant monster from the depths of the earth that could destroy us all. I still believe we have the technology to stop this, question is do we have enough time. In closing I would like to say this; One just can’t keep taking from Mother Nature, destroying her home with out her not retaliating in some way. This is only one incident, there are many, many more, just waiting, waiting to come forth to destroy its enemy, MAN. My Opinion Only.
