Morning Chat June 10/2021

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. And boy has it been warm. Actually down right hot there for a few days. Today things have cooled down a lot with the temperature waking up sitting at 14.2 C | 57.56 F. It will warm up quite a bit as the day moves forward … and if we are lucky we might see some rain through the night. And we sure need it! The good news is that the cold temperatures we had earlier last month, and now the major hot temperatures, sure did a number on the blackflies and mosquitoes. But in saying that we aren’t without some pesky parasites, as now the horse and deer flies are annoying us humans along with the animals. They love the heat, especially the deer flies. And the worst part is once they find you, they don’t leave you alone. They seem to get at my hands a lot, and when they bite you know it. LOL Anyways what can you do? We live in their neck of the woods. It’s the price we pay for living in paradise. Highway 522 is busy these days with lots of campers and things moving around in our area. There are also lots of new faces when going to the hardware store or to get the mail. Sign of the times, I suppose. Another thing I have noticed is, that a lot of those new faces aren’t as friendly as they used to be. I am not sure why that is. Maybe it’s the type of people they are, the virus that is among us, what ever, it makes me wonder. Some you even say … It’s a hot one, huh? They just give you the look and say nothing. Oh well, maybe I am just getting old. At any rate, I am starting to miss what our town was like years ago, when you went to the store, knew everyone and heck … sometimes you would be chatting for a half hour or so with different folks about all kinds of things. It kind of made a fellers’ day. On another note, my wife and I have been really busy these days, that is the reason for not being here on my Blog that much. We have been working on our new shower house for our cottage to be. I have to tell you, it has sure been a job. And not a cheap job with the price of things nowadays. But I suppose I am lucky in a lot of ways, as I do have the knowledge and equipment to do these things myself, which has saved me a bundle. With that bit of information under your hat, I am off for a bowl of cereal and my lovely wife and I will then get to mowing our grass. It isn’t long in some areas but in others is in need of a cutting. I hope my mowers run good today. It seems my old equipment is a challenge to keep running these days. Hmm …. something like myself I suppose. Anyways, you all take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat June 7/2021

Good Morning!. It’s another sunny day here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature waking up … was sitting at 18.9 C | 66.02 F. It will warm up substantially as the day moves forward. So once again, it would be a good idea of getting things done this morning before it gets too hot. Highway 522 is busy these days with lots of campers and different vehicles moving into our area for the summer. So care should be taken if out and about. On another note, the blackflies and mosquitoes are among us once again. The cold spell there for a few days slowed them down some for a bit. But with the dragon flies and birds, they are making short work of them. Which is okay by me and my little woman. Eat hearty, I say. My vegetable gardens are looking like a garden once again, now that we replanted a lot of things after the freezing temperatures we had awhile ago. I also noticed it is very hard to buy seeds this year, especially corn. I did find a package I had lying around, but it only had five Kernels in it. So we won’t be having much corn this fall. Other seeds like lettuce and things I have lots of, so we will be okay in that department. With this hot dry weather, watering will be essential for a while. At least till they get up there in size. I have put down a lot of grass cuttings around the plants, which should hold the moisture and nourish them as the days move by. Nothing like rotten grass cuttings to help them along and give things the flavour that is missing these days. On another note, I did manage to get a lot of work done outside yesterday. We did bury the water lines to the new shower house out back, and today I will start hooking up the shower. It kind of looks like it might be a challenge all coming in a box disassembled. Hmm, might pay to read the instructions first. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and a bite to eat … and will then get to work. Take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat June 6/2021

Good Morning! It’s a nice looking morning getting out of bed. The sun is shinning along with a light breeze. Which will make it nicer with this heat we are in for today, as temperatures are going to rise a lot. So if you have any outside work to be done, I would think the morning hours would be best. The temperature waking up was sitting at 20.9 C | 69.62 F. Yesterday we did have a wee bit of much-needed rain, but we could have used a lot more. My wife and I did finish planting our vegetable gardens yesterday, with some new plants, replacing the ones that got frozen. Today I will be running water lines to our new building out back which will probably take most of the day. Once that is done I can get to working on some of the inside items that need to be done. But we will see. If it gets too hot I won’t be doing much digging. Instead, I will enjoy a bowl of some sweet cherries we bought the other day. Speaking of cherries. Man have they risen in price. We paid more a pound, than I was selling a 6 Quart basket when we had our farms years ago. Actually, everything is up there in price with this virus among us. Some can be justified, other things can’t, with lots of folks using the virus as an excuse to raise the prices. Those are the ones I won’t be going back to do business with. At any rate such is life. There are a lot of humans without any compassion at all and this virus has brought them out in full force these days. But they will get their just rewards. With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal and will then get to work. Take care and stays safe.

Morning Chat June 1/2021

Good Morning! Well here it is the first of June. Man, time sure fly’s by. I am not sure why that is, as some days things move fast and then other days I wonder if they will ever end. I guess it is all in how you look at things. Not that I am complaining mind ya. Highway 522 is still busy these days with lots of travellers in our midst. The weather has been nice too, with the temperature this morning sitting at 11.8 C | 53.24 F. It will warm up a lot more as the day moves forward, and this weekend it could get down right hot. I might have to get my old fan out of winters storage. On another note, being so dry, which is hard to believe, I have been watering my vegetable gardens daily. The grass is also slowing down, which is okay by me. Yesterday we worked all day on our shower house out back near our cottage to be. It is turning out nice, and we did manage to get the roof shingled. Today I will hang a cedar door I have had lying around for the past ten years, or more. I can’t remember where I picked it up, but I did, and I finally found a home for it. So you see … it does pay to hang onto a few things. I have to admit I hang onto a lot of things. My problem is. I know I have something, but I have trouble finding it. LOL Hanging doors isn’t my favourite job, but it has to be done. The good part is the door didn’t cost me a cent. With that, take care and stay safe. And have a great day. GW

Morning Chat May 30/2021

Good Morning!. It’s another cold morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 5.2 C | 41.36 F. We have had some heavy frost for the past two mornings which I suspect took its toll on a lot of gardens. I lost a few plants myself. I had them covered, but being so cold it didn’t help. Not much a person can do other than replant. Usually things work out, but occasionally a year comes along that surprises a person. Such is life. Highway 522 is still quite busy these days with folks coming in from all over. Knowing that, extra care is needed to keep one safe with this virus. Even though a person has had his or her shot doesn’t mean that they are invincible. I suspect we will be living with this virus for a few years to come. On another note, my lovely wife and I have been getting a lot of work done on our new building out back. It is finally starting to look like something. Today we will finish up the trim work and then get to installing the shingles on the roof. It has been cool working out there, but the good part is the black flies and mosquitoes don’t like the cold all that much. Which makes things a lot nicer for working. With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal and will then see what the day has in store. Other than what I have planned. You just never know, and I like it that way … as it makes life interesting. LOL Take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat May 28/2021

Good Morning! It’s a sunny morning for a change here in Port Loring, Ontario. It is a touch cool though with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at 2.3 C | 36.14 F. It will warm up somewhat as the day moves forward. Tomorrow things will begin to be more pleasant temperature and sun wise. But in saying that, the cooler temperatures have kept the black-flies and mosquitoes at bay. Which makes it nice for getting some of our outside work done up. Yesterday we got our mowing finished up in the morning, and then in the afternoon we installed some expensive sheets of plywood on our roof of our new building out back of our house, that we are building. We had a busy day but a good day. Today we will put on some trim around the window and door and a facer board. And then we will shingle the roof. That’s the plan. But you never know what a day has in store. On another note we did have a wee bit of frost last night, so I am happy I covered our vegetable plants that we planted a few days ago. Tonight I will do the same. After tonight the nighttime temperatures shouldn’t be a concern. With that I am off for my morning bowl of oatmeal and maybe an English Muffin and will then get to work. Take care and stay safe.

Morning Chat May 27/2021

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It is also a touch cool with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at 5.1 C | 41.18 F. It won’t warm up much more than it is now, and I suspect it will remain cool for tomorrow too. After that things should be better sun and temperature wise. Highway 522 is still quite busy these days with lots of new people moving around. The black flies and mosquitoes haven’t been too bad for the past two days, which is nice. But once it warms up they will be back for a few more days before leaving for another year. Well … the black flies that is. The mosquitoes stay all summer … feasting off us humans along … with animals. On another note we started to do some work on our shed yesterday, but my good friend Barry called and said he was available to help me take down one of our huge pines beside my house that died. And said he would give me a hand if I was feeling up to taking it down. So we did. Truth be told everything went off without a hitch. We fell it in the right spot and had it cut up in firewood size before lunch. After lunch my lovely wife and I cleaned up the mess, and we piled the good wood in the bush for later use. So all in all a great day. We were tired though and ready to put our feet up. With that, I am off for my morning bowl of cereal and then my wife and I will get to mowing our grass which is ready to cut. Always something to do. Take care and stay safe. GW

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy damp rainy day here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 16.8 C | 62.24 F. Not to bad. If we are lucky we might have a wee bit of sunshine later on. But it is calling for more rain tomorrow. So …. knowing that, I guess I will be doing some inside work. Not that, that is a problem, as I have lots to do no matter what the day entails. Yesterday my lovely wife and I worked all day on our new shed out back we are building. We actually had a nice day and the black flies and mosquitoes weren’t all that bad. I have noticed the Dragon Flies are starting to make their appearance, which is a good thing, as they sure clean up them pesky blood sucking parasites. Nature taking care of Nature. Highway 522 is still busy with city folks coming into our area from all over, taking in what we have to offer. Good in one way, not so good in another way. LOL With that I am off for my morning bowl of cereal, and will then see what the day has in store. Life’s a mystery, you just never know what a day might bring. Take care and stay safe, things are still quite bad out there virus wise.

Morning Chat May 23/2021

Good Morning! It’s another cloudy, damp, cool morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature waking up was sitting at 8.7 C | 47.66 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward. The blackflies are still quite bad in certain areas, along with them pesky mosquitoes. Highway 522 is busy these days with lots of campers and things moving up and down the highway. Used to be … I could go to the Hardware store and know everyone that I happened upon. Nowadays, I don’t know half of them. Sign of the times I guess. Reason being, that a lot of people from the big cities are seeing the light, selling, and moving to the country, caused by this virus. I can’t say I blame them. It is also amazing how much the prices of homes have risen here in our area. Truth be told … it is getting hard to find properties for sale any more. Everything has been bought up. Even the vacant land is selling fast these days, with folks putting trailers and mobile homes on them. On another note, our firewood was delivered a couple of days ago, and my wife and I decided to get to work and pile it before it got wet with this rain we have been having. It got a wee bit wet on a few pieces, nothing to be concerned about. We had it all piled under our old lean-to in one and a half days. Not bad for an old feller and a hardworking woman. They call that Team Work! We do everything together. Today I might do some outside work if the weather clears and warms up some. I will see how that goes. This damp cool weather plays havoc on these old bones of mine. LOL But I keep moving. The worst thing us older folks can do is to sit and do nothing. With that I am off for a bowl of cereal and will then see what the day has in store. You never know what a day might bring ya. Take care and stay safe. Things are still quite bad out there. GW

Morning chat May 22/2021

Good Morning! It’s a rainy day here in Port Loring, Ontario. I suspect the showers will remain with us for most of the day. But in saying that … we do need it. Makes me smile as my lovely wife and I just finished planting our vegetable gardens, and they could use a nice drink to get them settled into their new home. Highway 522 is busy these days with folks moving into our area from all over. Kind of makes me wonder with this virus that is among us where some peoples minds are located. On another note, our firewood that we buy every spring arrived yesterday. Even with the heat I managed to pile half of it. Today we will finish it, as we can work under our lean too which should keep us dry for most parts. Once that is done we can get back to building our second lean-too out behind our house. We started building it a few days ago. So lots to do these days. I would also like to build a deck on our new cottage that we fixed up last year. It would be a nice place for our family and guests to sit on them warm summer days. But with the price of lumber these days I will have to give that some thought before I get all gun ho. LOL It’s amazing really two years ago you could buy a 4×8 sheet of 1/2 inch plywood for $22.00. Today it costs me $70.00. I am thinking there is a lot going on that we don’t know with these price increases these days. At any rate, not much we can do other than only buy what is absolutely necessary. So with that bit of information under your hat … I am off for a bowl of oatmeal and will then see what the day has in store. Take care and stay safe. Even with these vaccines that a lot are getting, things aren’t very good at the moment. Some would like you to believe that, but it isn’t. It’s going to take time for things to improve. And just because some have had the vaccine, is no reason to ease up on the safety measures. The virus is still very deadly.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy Friday morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It has been nice temperature wise for the past few days. This morning it was sitting at 20.6 C | 69.08 F. It will warm up a lot as the day progresses. The blackflies have been bad for the past few days, and they will remain with us till Father’s Day. The mosquitoes are just starting. I think in a lot of ways they are worse than the blackflies. And they love this hot muggy weather. But as I always say … we live in the north, and they are part of the package for living in paradise. LOL Highway 522 is busy these days with folks moving in from other areas. There was an accident on Highway 69 last Wednesday as they were rerouting the traffic our way to highway 11. On another note, my lovely wife and I did get our mowing all finished yesterday, so we are good for another week. The grass is sure growing these days which is nice to see. I like to gather ours and pile it in spots around my vegetable gardens. Then, when it rots a bit, I spread it in between the rows, which in turn makes for some pretty tasty vegetables. I can’t wait till our tomatoes are ready. They won’t be ready for a while though, as this year the plants are quite small. Talking about our vegetable gardens, my wife and I did manage to get it over half planted yesterday. We were sure tired at the end of the day, after mowing, tilling the gardens and then planting. But we slept good. LOL Today our firewood is coming which is a good thing, as it gives it time to dry through the hot days of summer. This year being so dry we are thinking the delivery feller can back right up to where we are going to pile it, which will sure make things a lot easier for us. We won’t have to move it twice. We will see how that goes in a bit. Other than that, not much else happening in and around our small community. Take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat May 20/2021

Good Morning! Well, it’s been a couple of days since my last post. The reason being my lovely wife and I have been extra busy working on some outside things. The weather has been nice other than a shower or two. This morning the temperature was sitting at16.7 C | 62.06 F. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. Actually it is going to get down right hot for a couple of days. On another note, the black flies have been real bad the past few days. Now the mosquitoes are starting to enter into the picture and this hot, damp, muggy weather will bring them out in droves. Not much we can do about it, as this is the north, and what will be, will be. Yesterday my wife and I went to town to pick up our groceries that we order online. It sure was busy with people moving around all over. So much for being closed down. While there we visited our son in his apartment parking lot. Dropped off a few things, had a chat and went to pick up a few vegetable plants that we ordered for our gardens. Which we will get to planting hopefully later on today. We will have to see what the weather is going to do. Boy are plants expensive this year. It seems that everyone is raising the prices on things relating it to the virus that is among us. Being as old as I am and not being fooled as much these days … I would say there is a lot of price gouging going on. Not a good thing and really there is no reason to be doing this. But … it is what some humans do. After we picked up our plants and had a chat with our son, we had our lunch in our car with a cup of coffee my wife made for us before we left and headed for home. Actually we had a great day. With that I am off for some bacon and eggs that my wife has made for me and will then get to mowing the lawn. Take care and stay safe.

Morning Chat May 12/2021

Good Morning! We are finally having some sunshine here in Port Loring, Ontario this morning. It is a touch cool with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at 5.6 C | 42.08 F. It will warm up considerably as the day moves forward. And the good part is, that the rest of the week the sunshine will remain with us, along with some warm temperatures. We are heading into summer weather now. But in saying that them pesky blackflies are going to be with us for a few weeks too, along with them blood sucking parasites, the mosquito. Today I have some work to do in my woodworking shop, so after breakfast I will get at that. Man time is sure moving along these days. It won’t be long, and I will be planting my vegetable gardens. Actually, if the temperatures stay warm at night say around 50 F I might be planting within a week. I will be keeping an eye on things. Only one eye … as I need the other, to do other things. LOL On another note, I see that they stopped using the AstraZeneca Vaccine here in Ontario. I have been saying all along that I don’t think this is a safe vaccine to be taking. I do believe in places like India where they don’t have hardly any vaccines at all right now, it would be better than nothing. For my wife and I we couldn’t see taking it and then having to worry whether we would get a brain clot or?. The stress alone would be enough to put a feller out of commission. We have enough on our plate these days without that. Anyways … you all have a great day. Make it a good day and enjoy some of that sunshine. I am a firm believer that the vitamin D 3 we get from the sun can play a major role in helping us humans with this virus that is among us. Along with a lot of other diseases. If a test were taken yo u would find that almost everyone is major low, and I mean major low on vitamin D. Actually one of my sons was getting sick all the time, so I had him ask his doctor to check it out in his blood test. What they found was outstanding. Well below the 22% mark. He was so low that they immediately put him on 50,000 UI. once a week for a few weeks. The test costs $40.00 here in Ontario. But I think everyone should be having it done. Insist on it! In doing so a lot of sickness would be eliminated. But you do what you want to do. Stay safe. GW

Good Morning! It’s a rainy cool morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The temperature waking up was sitting at 2.3 C | 36.14 F. It will remain cool and wet for most of the day. There is a possibility of the sun making an appearance later on, but I suspect we will have to wait till tomorrow. The good news is that starting tomorrow weather wise, things will take a major change with lots of sunshine and warmer temperatures entering into the picture. Summer weather is heading our way. On another note, the Black Flies are starting to annoy us humans. It never fails they are here from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. And this year they made their appearance right on time. Yesterday being so wet I worked in my woodworking shop cleaning up the mess I made over the past two weeks. Today I will get things together that I will be needing to build a smaller lean too for my wood outback of my house. I figure it should be big enough to hold around 3 or 4 cords. It will make things a lot easier to get at the firewood come winter. After that I will work on a story or two for my columns in the Newspapers I write for. I like to get them done, so I don’t have to be inside when the nice weather is upon us. With that … I guess I will go for my morning bowl of cereal and will then see what the day has in store. You just never know. Take care and stay safe. GW

Good afternoon May 10/2021

It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring Ontario. We did have a wee bit of sunshine earlier, which was nice as I finally got finished installing my under drainage pipes in behind my house. The problem I was having was that the water from the eve troughs wasn’t running away from the house. I have been wanting to do that for the past 17 years LOL. So this was the year. Took a lot of digging to do it by hand, with some of it being in clay. I got a good deal from Home Hardware on some under drainage pipes which made it even nicer. So now we will wait and see what happens when we get a rain. I don’t see any reasons why it won’t work. Now I am going to build a lean too for my firewood behind my house. I do have a large one, but I figured it would be nice to have one closer to where I put it in the house. And if I get time I will maybe add a fish cleaning station on the ones end of. Maybe even a light to see what we are doing as most of the time when we come in from fishing it is a getting dark. So lots to do. With that I am off for a bite to eat, and I think I can smell coffee brewing. Nothing like a fresh pot of perked coffee. Take care and stay safe … things aren’t all that good right now with this virus. GW

Morning Chat May 9/2021

Good Morning! It’s a cool morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature waking up was sitting at 6.1 C | 42.98 F. By the looks of things we will be having a really nice Mother’s Day. Tomorrow though we will be back to some rain and cooler temperatures. So …. if you have some outside work to be done, today is the day. I have lots to do as my lovely wife does, so we will be looking after that and tomorrow we will take the day off. Yesterday I did get a lot done on our shower house for our cottage to be. Today I will carry on. I should mow our grass, but I am thinking we can wait for a couple more days. And I don’t feel like doing it today LOL. Highway 522 is pretty busy with folks moving around along with others coming into our area from other places. I was told we have 4 cases here in town now. Knowing that extra care should be taken. In a small town, it can infect a lot of people if we aren’t careful. I think most are, but there are some that don’t seem to give a damn. Makes me shake my head in wonder. I guess the only way these people will learn is if they become infected or a loved one. Anyways enough of that. It’s Mother’s Day. A time to remember your Mother and all she does and has done for you. Take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat May 8/2021

Good Morning! It’s a bit cloudy here in Port Loring, Ontario this morning. And it is also a bit cool with the temperature getting out of bed sitting at 3.7 C | 38.66 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward. We should see some sunshine off and on throughout the day. Highway 522 is picking up these days, with campers, trucks you name it moving up and down the highway. So much for the stay at home order. It also looks like my lovely wife and I might have to do some grass cuttin’ this week by the looks of things. It is getting a bit long. The dandelions are showing off with flowers everywhere. I am thinking it is time to pick a couple and make a tea. They are a very healthy plant to eat, or make a tea from. We just pull a small one, and my wife washes it good and drops it into a pot of boiling water. Say around three cups. Let it set for ten minutes, and it’s ready to drink. What could be simpler than that. On another note, my wife and I went to North Bay and had our first shot of the vaccine last Thursday. Everything went well, and I was surprised at how well they handled things on the safety end of things. Once you park your car they take care of everything. On the side effect and needle part of things neither one of us felt anything, and it’s been three days since we had it. Other than maybe a bit of a sore arm where they administered the vaccine, when I laid on it through the night. Other than that things are good. It’s not a 100% guarantee, but it should save our life if we do happen to catch it. But not right away maybe in three weeks or so. As it takes time for the body to get things up to par now that it knows what to look for which is what the vaccine does. It makes the body aware of what is taking place. Pretty amazing really. The second shot will bring the bodies antibodies up even more to where it can fight it a lot better. But that won’t be until August. I am kind of hoping that they move that date up a bit. We will have to see what they do. The vaccine my wife and I had, was the Pfizer. After all my research I have come to the conclusion for now, the Pfizer or the Moderna is the best there is. It is a newer way of doing things which I believe is the way of the future, and you know … I have a feeling that we will soon be able to take a vaccine that will stop most of all our cancers. Now wouldn’t that be nice. One other note that should be addressed is I haven’t found any ingredient in the Pfizer or the Moderna that can harm you. It is basically made up with Salts, Oils and Sugar, along with the mRNA. Also known as messenger, mRNA is the only active ingredient in the vaccine. The mRNA molecules contain the genetic material that provide instructions for our body on how to make a viral protein that triggers an immune response within our bodies. The immune response is what causes our bodies to make the antibodies needed to protect us from getting infected if exposed to the coronavirus. With that, I am off for my morning bowl of oatmeal, and will then head on off to the dump. Things have been piling up here for the past week or so. Take care and stay safe it is getting terrible out there with more deaths every day here in Ontario. I am hoping a lot of more people will start seeing that this virus, is … very dangerous.

Morning Post May 6/2021

Good Morning! It was a very foggy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. Along with being a touch cool with the temperature sitting at 0.1 C | 32.18 F. Actually we had a heavy frost through the night. But the sun is making short work of things, as the skies are clearing as I type. It will warm up as the day progresses which in turn will make it nice for those that want to get outside and soak up some of that Vitamin D3. Which is what everyone is in need of right now. Especially with this virus among us. I would say it is the next best thing we have in our arsenal of defences, other than the Vaccines. On another note … I didn’t get outside yesterday, but I did do up a couple stories for my newspaper columns. With that … I am off for my morning bowl of cereal and will then see what mischief I can get into. Or so my lovely wife says. Take care and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat May 5/2021

Good Morning! It’s another cloudy cool morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. Yesterday it rained for most of the day. Today will be about the same. The temperature waking up was sitting at 6 C | 42.8 F. It won’t warm up much more than it is now. Highway 522 is slightly busy. On another note I didn’t work outside yesterday being so wet and cold. Today I will stay inside and work on a story or two. Not much else happening in and around our community. With that you all have a great day and stay safe. GW

Morning Chat May 4/2021

Good Morning! It’s a rainy day here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at 5.7 C | 42.26 F. I am afraid the rain will remain with us for most of the day. Highway 522 is picking up with more people travelling every day. On another note the grass is about ready to cut for the first time this year. I do have a lot of outside work that needs to be done, but with it being so cold and wet I haven’t felt like doing anything. And you know? I can do that. LOL Yesterday I worked in our cottage to be, helping my lovely wife for a while. Later on I wrote up a story for my newspaper columns. Today being so wet I will stay inside. With that I am off for my morning bowl of oatmeal and will then let the day unfold around me. Take care, and stay safe. This virus is sure taking its toll on the young these days, and our hospitals are full. Things should start to taper off once folks get vaccinated, along with staying home. Some don’t like it, but truth be told … they are the only things we have that protects us, or at the very least keeps us out of the hospitals. Have a good day. GW
