Here is a really nice Monarch Butterfly that my wife captured enjoying some sweetness of one of our lilacs this spring. I enjoy watching them. Thought I would share.

Here is a picture of a waterfall that is located here in Port Loring. Nice place to have a picnic, secluded, and … well, what can I say.
Supper Time
Here is a picture of our supper for tonight that my lovely wife made. Two meat pies with leftover roast mixed with all kinds of vegetables. Sure tasty. Also, some fresh broccoli from our garden, with a dip which just makes you want to eat more.
Turtle Picture
Here is a turtle we seen awhile back asking for some help to cross the road. So we stopped and helped him out. For our help I figured we deserved a picture. On another note, take into account that the highway we stopped on was 522, and not busy, so we didn’t cause any accidents with stopping along the highway. On a busy highway I wouldn’t have bothered. Not that I wouldn’t have wanted too.

Morning Report For Port Loring Ontario Canada
What can I say? It’s a beauty of a day here in Port Loring. Sun is shinning with some cooler temperatures. At the time of this post it was sitting at 11C/51F. It will warm up a few degrees but not as warm as yesterday. I think this is perfect weather. We didn’t get the rain they expected yesterday or through the night. I was hoping we would have as things sure need a good watering. Today I will do a bit of mowing where it needs it then, maybe clean my chimney and eve-troughs for winter. The summer is almost over. Man time sure flies. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will see what mischief I can get into.
On another note I should mention here I am not on Facebook anymore, or should say for a while, as I have too many things on the go these days. But I will be here on my Blog when I can. GW

So another really nice day here waking up. Temperatures at the moment are sitting 25.8 C | 78.44 F. We could see a bit of rain later on today. Vegetable garden is doing pretty good but it is dry and things are deteriorating a lot. I will however replant some lettuce which will then last till the fall. Bugs are not too bad this time of year. With that I am off for a cup of coffee with my lovely wife and will let the day unfold around me. It sure is a nice day.

Morning report
It’s kind of foggy here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada this morning. It cooled down overnight which I like. Later it will warm up and once the sun does it job the sky will clear. Actually, it is looking like it’s going to be a fantastic week. Today I have some story writing to do for my columns, which will probably keep me busy most the day. But once that is done, it is back working on my Flutes. I was hoping to get them finished before the snow flies. I also have to clean up my vegetable garden a touch and plant some more lettuce. One thing my wife and I enjoy is fresh lettuce for the table all summer long. We have been eating some broccoli lately. It sure is tasty. Deep greenish blue ting, nothing like the store bought stuff. Loaded with enzymes. What could be better. I would say there isn’t any vegetable as healthy to eat as broccoli. With that bit of info, I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will let the day unfold around me.

Cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It looks as if we might get some rain early this morning. We could use some for sure which would save me watering my tomatoes. Temperatures cooled down nicely through the night which made things nice for sleeping. My wife and I did manage to go for a walk this morning which keeps us both fit. Or if nothing else a quiet time away. You have to go early though, or there is an onslaught of trucks and things heading to work. Today I will work away around the house here, I have some cleaning to do in the basement getting things ready for the winters wood. Man time sure goes by fast, here we are now coming into September. Waking up they were sitting at 11.7 C | 53.06 F. It will warm up some as the day moves forward. My wife and I did go for a walk this morning which should help the old body. Few folks fishing out on the lake. Hardly a ripple in the water. Nice to see. This morning I will do some work in the shop cleaning up a few orders, then maybe if time, I will get back to my Flute making. Then this afternoon will take it a bit easy. What can I say? Other than it is another beautiful day here in Port Loring Ontario Canada. There is no reason not to do your vacationing here. We have some great Resorts, and Camps to stay in and the fishing is fantastic. Hardly any bugs to annoy you, so hey, what could be better. I don’t think there is any place in Ontario as nice as Port Loring, when it comes to being surrounded by Nature. Temperatures today will stay in the low 70sF/ 21 C. What more can a person ask for? Today I am going to be working in the woodworking shop once again. Yesterday I managed to finish fixing my roof on my Lean-to that covers my firewood. Glad that is done up. Bothers me when things aren’t as they are supposed to be. With that I am off for some bacon and eggs this morning, and then I will enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch with my lovely wife and take in what Nature has to offer. One thing about our property, it is beautifully laid out surrounded by huge pines. My wife says there isn’t a window you can look out that doesn’t have a picture perfect scene. I agree. Another really nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Nothing is nicer than to wake up to pleasant sunny days. Humidity is low and not too much wind. Can’t get much better than that. Cottage country is at its best right now. If you are thinking of taking a summer vacation this is the time to do it. I should say for those that lives in the big cities. For us, it is a daily event. Come winter though it is a different story. LOL Today I am going to finish working on my lean-too that I store my wood in. Fixing the roof is not an easy chore as I am finding out. But I am half-way finished. My vegetable garden is in full swing now with fresh vegetables for the table daily. I will pick a couple of my tomatoes today for lunch and supper. That I am looking forward to. Nothing nicer than tomato sandwiches. Well other than Bologna sandwiches. I am kind of partial to them. I know, it isn’t the best to eat, but I am thinking there is a lot worse. So with that I am off for my morning coffee with my lovely wife, and will see what the day has in store for me. Another really nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and not too hot. Can’t get much better than this. The rest of the week is looking good too. On another note I am thinking I will pick one of my first tomatoes today and have it for lunch. A few more are almost ready as well. So taking today’s date in comparison to last year for picking tomatoes, we are exactly two weeks later. On the good side of things that means we will be eating them for a longer time in the fall. Which, is fine with me. Today I have some work to do on my lean-to where I put in my firewood. It needs a bit of attending. Like anything else time takes its toll on things and a few repairs are needed. Same goes for our bodies. Then when that is finished up I might get back to my Flute making for a bit, then maybe take in some front porch sittin’. The summer is going by fast, and I am thinking we should be taking a bit more advantage of the nice weather. So with that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and let the day unfold around me. You never know what might occur in one day. Another really nice day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and temperatures are sitting at15.8 C | 60.44 F. By the looks of things we are going to have a great week weather wise. This morning my wife and I had a nice long walk, taking in what is going on around us. It’s nice to see so many folks fixing up their homes and grounds. Sure wasn’t like that 16 years ago when we moved here. But that is the way things go. With new folks entering into the picture new ideas are formed. Some for the good and some not so good. Such is life. Yesterday we took a drive to North Bay to visit our son and get some of my computer issues looked after. Had a really nice lunch out, picked up some groceries and came on home. Great day for a drive. This morning I will take things easy a bit, relax on the front porch with a coffee or two, maybe do some computer work now I have it working to its fullest potential, thanks to my son. Then this afternoon will let things happen on their own. Why is that? Just Because I Can. Have a great day!

Not to bad of a looking day waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun was shinning and will keep on shinning off and on throughout the day. There is a chance for some early morning showers. Temperatures have cooled down some and it was quite nice throughout the night. I slept with my window open enjoying the fresh air. At the moment temperatures are sitting at 13.8 C | 56.84 F. It will warm up some as the day progresses. But not as warm as yesterday. I would say if I had to pick a time of year I like the most it would be about now. Not many bugs, not to hot and the fishing is good or will get better in a few days. On another note, with this rain we had, the vegetable garden is looking good. I got more colour in my tomato patch and keeping an eye on one that is just about ready for a sandwich or two. Yesterday I got a few stories lined up for the papers and did some computer work. I had a few issues I had to straighten out. Today I will see a bit about mowing around the house here as the rain got the grass to growing once again. So I will get my exercise today, which is a good thing. Finally, we are getting some rain here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. I was going to go for a walk but decided against it, which turns out was a good thing. Although my old Dad used to say when it rained and I got wet. “George … you have to learn how to walk between the drops.” I tried, but seems I always got wet for some reason. Maybe I wasn’t doing it right. Anyways it did cool down a touch through the night which made it nice for sleeping. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 18.7 C | 65.66 F. The rain will continue for a while and once it has it out of its system we might see some sunshine. Today I think I will work here on my computer, I have some stories to write up for different papers and magazines. Could say I will take a day off the physical work, and add a day of mental work. It’s actually a good combination to be doing, as keeping the mind active is a good thing. Saves a whole mess of problems down the road away. Not that I am getting old mind ya. LOL. On another note, this rain is making my vegetable garden happy. I thought I seen a grin on a couple of my tomatoes a few minutes ago looking out. Also, I got my rain barrel filled up with some nice soft water for future use. So what some see as a bad day, in reality is a good day. We all woke up to something different this morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada, with fog everywhere. It will be very humid today until the sun comes out, which it should do later on. Tomorrow we hopefully will see a bit of rain as things sure need it. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 16.8 C | 62.24 F. It will warm up as the day progresses. This morning I will hill up my tomatoes a wee bit and put some grass cuttings around them. Then give them a drink. They are a nice size, but still a long way to ripening. Reason being I didn’t get them planted till June 1st this year. Not much you can do about that. I do have a couple that is showing some colour. On the good side of this dry weather, the grass has slowed down a lot which makes me smile, as we don’t have to cut it as often. After I get my garden done I will get back to filling some small orders and then see if I can finish up the Flute I started yesterday. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee and will see what the day has in store for me, other than what I want to do. Have a great day.

No sunshine this morning here in Port Loring. Ontario. Canada. Temperatures waking up were sitting at 19.6 C | 67.28 F. It looks like we are going to get some much-needed rain today and into tonight. I hope so our garden is in need. The trees around our place would also like a drink I suspect. Today I will be working away in the woodworking shop on some small orders then once finished I will get back to my Flutes. I have 25 on the go this time, which will make a nice show for next summer in our store. Our lettuce in our vegetable garden is slowly ending, so once it cools down a wee bit I will plant some more, which then should last till Fall. Zucchini is growing leaps and bounds these days along with the cucumbers, and we been enjoying them daily. Ruth cuts them up, and we use it with other vegetables for dippers in her home made dressings. Tastes pretty good. Tomatoes are just starting to turn a bit yellow as we planted mostly low acid ones this spring. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. Good size I will say that. Can’t wait till they are ready. Nothing like fresh tomato sandwiches. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will see what the day has in store. Have a great day.

Looks like another really nice day shaping up for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is slowly making it’s way up in the East. To me there is nothing nicer than to watch the sun rise each morning. I like it better than the setting sun. Temperatures through the night were sitting around 11.5 C | 52.7 F. Great sleeping weather. Today it will get warm, warmer than yesterday. Then cool off with maybe some rain tomorrow. Today I will carry on with my Flute making and finishing up a few sign orders my wife took in yesterday. Actually we had a busy day yesterday. Seemed it was motorcycle day as we had quite a few bikers drop by for a visit and pick up a few things in our store. I guess that is what motivated me into posting some pictures of motorcycles yesterday. At any rate it was a great day. I also managed to stain the back deck, so one more thing off the list of things to do. With that I am off for my morning walk with my lovely wife, then will have a cup of coffee and see what mischief I can get into.
