Good Morning! It is a touch cooler this morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Temperatures were sitting at 37 °F/3 °C. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward. Which will make things nice for working outside. We also should see some much-needed sunshine today and into tomorrow. But then we are back to some rain for a couple of days. I am hoping the rain will pass us by, as I do have some things outside that I would like to do. Like painting the outside of the cottage. But, I have found that you can’t buck Mother Nature. She does what she wants, in spite of how powerful us humans think we are. LOL Highway 522 is real quiet this morning, but it is Sunday. A day of rest for some. For me … every day is the same, and when it comes to rest, I …. well, I rest when I need it. Which could be any day or hour for that matter. LOL On another note, the grass has slowed down a lot in the growing department, but I suspect I will have to cut it one more time in a few days. I like to put my bagger on the mower, as I can then gather the leaves and put them on my veggie garden, which in turn lets them rot through winter, and come spring … I have free fertilizer. I then till it in and get to planting. What could be better than that? Nothing. So with that bit of information under your hat, that is if you wear a hat, I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and maybe …. just maybe I will add a piece of toast with some fresh honey I picked up from a friend of ours last week. Honey you know … has a lot of great values in the health department. And with this virus going around we humans could use all the help we can get. Only the raw honey has what is needed to help us. Also, the great thing is, that for most parts it lasts a long time, without going bad. It is a bit expensive though, around ten dollars for a quart size tub, but there is a lot of work that goes into it. On the bees part that is. LOL Take care, and stay safe. It isn’t getting any better out there that’s for sure. We are closing in on the 1000 a day here in Ontario. And I suspect it will get worse than that. I also think we haven’t seen anything yet compared to what will take place in a month or two. The only help we got is ourselves folks!

Morning Slice of life Oct 3/2020
Good Morning! It’s a pretty nice morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Temperatures were sitting at 4.2 C | 39.56 F. It will warm up as the day moves forward. I am thinking it will remain mostly cloudy, but we could see some clearing and if lucky some sunshine later on. Highway 522 is slowing down a lot these days, which in my mind is a good thing. Especially with the amount of people getting infected with this virus. I would say that the figures are way low to what they really are. I wouldn’t hesitate to say, they would be about double of what we are hearing, and will continue to rise if folks don’t start to take things serious. I can’t see where some people’s logic is these days. If we don’t put things in motion to slow it down, we will lose control of the situation, if we haven’t already. My son living in North Bay told me yesterday he was happy to see some students, now starting to wear a mask while congregating outside the schools and parking lots around town. That to me is a good thing. Now we need to get our older folks and mid range to start doing their part. When my wife and I were in town we seen restaurants full, with no one wearing a mask, or for that matter taking any precautions what’s so ever. They are the ones that is causing a lot of our problem. If asked I would say stay home. Make your own coffee, its better anyways, or get take out, and eat or drink it in your car, outside or take it home and relax with a good movie. Stay out of churches too. They are about the worst places you can be in. Talk to family members on the phone instead of visiting them in person. I can’t see why so many folks are so blind to what is truly real in life. Makes me laugh, as some of these people say they base their life around science. And then they head on off to church or a restaurant for lunch or dinner. Bottom line is, the only way we can control this virus and make things tolerable is if we start doing what is right and take the blinders off. Our health officials are good in part here in Canada, but we as an individual have to do our part. I would also say if asked that folks needs to take the blinders of with a lot of things. What a lot have believed in for most their life, in reality isn’t real at all. Anyways … that’s my opinion on things at hand this morning. LOL. Take care, and stay safe.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It also has become a touch cool too. We could see temperatures rise a bit and a bit of sunshine as the day moves forward. But all said … it is starting to look like Fall. Most of all our leaves are down in certain areas now. It was quite a show this year, that’s for sure. I missed a few days here on the Blog as you all noticed. Not that anything was wrong as a lot have asked, it’s just my wife and I have been extra busy getting things ready outside for winter. But I think, we have things all set now for what’s to come. We also had some friends drop by for a visit yesterday which we enjoyed while outside from a distance. Today I will get started working in my old woodworking shop on a corner table I have in the works, and then onto a cabinet for our cottage that will hold some groceries, plates and things. They will be nice added features, when all said and done. It’s nice having my shop to make these things for sure … but it is even nicer having the know how. LOL With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife. No breakfast this morning. Have a great day and stay safe, this virus is growing every day, which makes the chances of getting it … just that much easier.
Morning Slice of life Sep 29/2020
Good Morning! I hope everyone is well and staying healthy. Waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada we are seeing a wee bit of sunshine. But temperatures have dropped a lot. At the moment it is sitting at 11.6 C | 52.88 F. It will warm up a touch … but not much. The sunshine though should stay with us for most the day. Then we will be back into rain for two more days with even cooler temperatures. So things are changing weather wise. Sign of what’s to come. But in saying that … I am not ready for seeing any white yet. Highway 522 is slowing down a lot now, with folks moving back to the cities and cottages being closed up for winter. Yesterday my wife and I kind of took it easy. Today I will get back to working in my woodworking shop. I am in the midst of making a wall cabinet for our new cottage, and then I am going to make an end table for the one corner of the cottage. That should keep me busy and out of trouble my wife says for a week or so. On another note we do have most of all our outside work done up for winter. The vegetable gardens are put to bed for the long sleep. We still have one small garden with some tomatoes in it that we are using daily. But it won’t be long, and they will be finished too. The grass has slowed down a lot, so that makes me smile, as we won’t have to mow much anymore this year. The leaves on the trees are falling fast this year. We are right in the middle of it right now. It sure is a sight to see. But the time line is short. With that I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning. Raisin-Bran. LOL I like that occasionally. Not the best health wise, but not so bad. Moderation is the key with food these days. Once finished, a cup of perked coffee with my lovely wife should get me ready to do some work. Take care and stay safe. This virus is getting worse.
Morning slice of life Sep 28/2020
Good Morning! Well … it’s a not so good day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada weather wise. We had some heavy rain early this morning and at the moment it is cloudy with some lingering showers. Temperatures have cooled down some and will continue to drop throughout the day and into tomorrow. We should see some sunshine tomorrow which will make it nice to take in the colours that Nature has to offer. Traffic for Sunday was quiet, but I suspect it will pick up as the day moves forward. The virus is increasing its toll on us humans here in Ontario. We are closing in on the 500 a day mark, almost to where it was when it started. At this time we need to take extra care, but it seems there are a lot of people that just doesn’t care. So in knowing that, we that do care have to take extra precautions when around people like that. Not much else we can do. On another note, I did manage to get the curtain rods all up in our new cottage and my lovely wife hung them up. I have to say that curtains sure can make a home. LOL Today I have some inside work to do, so my wife and I will be doing that. With that I am off for a bowl of Oatmeal and a cup of coffee with my lovely wife and will then get to work. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right.
Morning Slice of life Sep 27/2020
Good Morning! Well … it’s another really nice day shaping up for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning and temperatures are sitting at 20C/68F. Can’t beat that for our area at this time of year. The leaves are out in full force with colours galore. But by the looks of things our nice weather will be leaving us in a day or so, with lots of rain on the horizon. Yesterday I did get my vegetable garden tilled up. Was quite a job as my old rototiller didn’t want to run right. But I managed to get it running long enough to do what needed to be done. I will work on it through winter, or next spring. Always something to take the fun out of things. LOL Today I will get them curtains hung up in our cottage, or at least put the rods up for my wife. Not that she couldn’t do it herself, but it’s a bit easier for me to do, with her not being the tallest of women LOL. After that I am thinking we will do some front porch sittin’ with rain in the forecast for tomorrow. The good part of having rain tomorrow we will see how them new eve troughs work … that my wife and I installed on our cottage a couple of days ago. LOL Highway 522 was quite busy yesterday with people coming and going from all over. I would think they are taking in the colours, closing up cottages or heading home. Can’t say I blame them. On another note I noticed the virus is taking its toll on us here in Ontario. We were well over the 400 yesterday and climbing. But I suspected it would, with all the opening of stores and schools and groups of all kinds. It seems that the younger ones aren’t taking things serious these days. But then again, I am finding there are a lot of us older folks that aren’t taking things serious neither. I have to admit, I am loosing my faith in humanity. Not much we can do I guess. At any rate I am off for my morning cup of coffee and some bacon and eggs on this fine Sunday morning with my lovely wife. Take care and stay safe. No one can do that but you. GW
Morning Slice of Life Sep 26/2020
Good morning!. It’s another really nice sunny day for us here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Yesterday I got tied up with other things first thing, so as you can see I didn’t get to doing my morning post. Yesterday though was a beauty of a day with temperatures like summer. Today will be much the same. We could see a passing shower later on in the day. These nice temperatures will remain with us until Tuesday or Wednesday. After that they will drop a lot. So if you have some outside work that needs doing, this is the time to get at it. For my wife and I, we are pretty well all set for winter, other than I still have to till up my veggie garden. I like to do it every Fall. I might do that today and get it out of the way. I do still have a few plants on the one end still producing some fresh veggies, but I am thinking I can work around them. I kind of got the feeling that I had better get it worked up. We will see. LOL After that I will help the wife put up some curtain rods and new curtains she bought awhile back. They will pretty well finish up the inside of the cottage. So happy about that. It took my lovely wife and I all summer to complete. I still have to hook it up to the septic system, but that will have to wait till next year … as I haven’t the time ... or energy to do it this year LOL. Highway 522 is or was really busy yesterday with campers and trucks moving from East to West. But it was Friday, and Friday’s mean the weekend, and the weekend folks like tend to celebrate a bit. LOL. So with that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and a bowl of oatmeal LOL. I enjoy the oatmeal a lot, or as we used to call it Porridge. I should mention that there is nothing better for keeping a person’s blood pressure on track … than oatmeal. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right. Which I know you will. GW
Morning Slice of life Sep24/2020
Good Morning! Well … it’s a cloudy morning here waking up in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. A bit hazy over Lake Memesagamesing. Highway 522 is busy this morning with lots of trucks moving east and west. So many they actually woke me up. I kind of overslept this morning with it being so cloudy. But then again if my wife and I want to lay in bed an extra bit in the mornings … we do so. LOL She says we earned it. Probably right. The leaves are sure turning colour-fast here in our area. Looks beautiful. I will take a few pictures for those in the USA that couldn’t make it up this year because of the virus. I have heard from a few of my friends from the US which is nice. I feel bad for them not being able to travel into Canada. But … hopefully next year things will change. Not good at the moment though, and truth be told they should stay home as we are getting more and more cases every day. Reason being … business’s and some aren’t doing what they are supposed to be doing. I keep on saying. I don’t know where some peoples minds are. I do see that right now, it’s the young between 20 and 40 that are getting it and passing it on. At any rate, such is that. Yesterday I got a spurt of extra energy and painted the trim on the cottage to be, and installed a new eve trough with my wife’s help. Should help a lot in moving the water away from the building. I should have done it years ago. Amazing how some things slips through the cracks. LOL I did do a bit of work in the old woodworking shop, cleaning up my mess. I have to admit as my wife says I sure am a messy Marvin from time to time. But, that’s the joy of having the equipment and know how to do these things. Over the years we have saved thousands doing things ourselves. Probably wouldn’t have today, what we do have if it wasn’t for being self efficient. Anyways … enough of that. I hope you are all well and staying safe. I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, do some serious chatting LOL and then get to work. I have a bunch of perennial plants to move today. Should keep this old feller out of trouble. Oh! If you click on the pictures below they will enlarge for better viewing.
Morning Slice of life Sep 23/2020
Good Morning! The sun is shinning, but we here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada are in the midst of a lot of fog. Once it burns off, it should be a great day for doing just about anything outside. Temperatures will rise to near 23C/71F. Kind of like summer weather for a change. Highway 522 is busy with mostly locals moving around. There are a few campers and things moving up and down the highway. I should also mention that the leaves are sure looking nice this year with lots of colour. For the next week or so it would be a worthwhile trip around the area to take in what Mother Nature has to offer. After all, she is the best artist on the planet. Next to my lovely wife that is. LOL Yesterday I got a lot done in the cottage to be and today being so nice I will do some work on the outside of the building itself. That is … if my old back and hip allows me to. I must have hurt it a bit yesterday. Always something. LOL. On another note I did mange to get most of my large vegetable garden cleaned up for winter. Kind of sad to see all the vegetables gone for another year. I still have a few tomatoes for sandwiches left, which we are enjoying every day. I am sure going to miss them, as the ones you buy in the stores have no taste at all. But in saying that, my wife did do up a lot of preserves this year, which will be very tasty throughout the winter months. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and will let the day unfold around me. You just never know these days what a day will entail. Take care and stay safe. The rates of infections these days are closing in on the 500 a day mark. Not good. GW
Morning Slice of life Sep 22/2020
Good Morning! Once again we are in the midst of sunshine here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It should stay with us for most the day. And along with that, temperatures will rise up to near 70F/22C. And continue on through most the week. Great weather for finishing up some things I have to do around the house here. Truth be told Mother Nature is working with me this year. Well … actually she has worked with me for over 70 some years now. All I do is mention I have to get certain things done, and she always has given me time. Now and then she cuts it close, but for most days it all worked out. Yesterday I worked putting together a new bed in the cottage, it’s a full over a single bunk. Looks great and should be nice and comfy with the new mattresses we bought. Today I will bring in the new sofa bed we bought along with the kitchen table I made. Add a few other things, like curtains, new fridge and utensils along with some shelves, pictures and things … I am thinking it will close to being finished. At least for this year. Once finished I will post a picture or two to show you what we been up too LOL. Highway 522 is pretty busy once again with locals and a few tourists moving around. With that bit of information under your hat … I am off for my morning cup of coffee. No breakfast this morning. Take care and stay safe. GW
Morning Slice of life Sep 21/2020
Good Morning! Things are looking nice weather wise here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The sun is shinning with just a few floating clouds in the sky. What could be better than that? Not much. It will warm up some as the day moves forward. It will get even warmer tomorrow and the next day with temperatures feeling like summer. But in saying all that, we had better enjoy them as they will be short-lived with cooler temperatures moving back into our area next week. Hmm … it seems Mother Natures gives … but it also takes back when ever she wants. Highway 522 was a wee bit busy yesterday with folks moving around. Mostly locals out doing what ever LOL. Yesterday I finished hooking up the new sink and taps for our cottage to be, and surprisingly I had only one small leak which I managed to fix. Amazing … as it seems over the years I have had issues when it comes to plumbing. LOL. Then in the afternoon I dug out the old corn stalks for my wife, so she can use them to decorate the outside of our house for Thanksgiving. Which by the way is edging it’s way closer. I have to admit my lovely wife can take anything and with a flick of her Witt … it is made into something beautiful. Even food. Yesterday she made up some more sweet pickles for winter. They sure are tasty let me tell ya. Today I will work away on some things in the cottage and in the afternoon I will do some front porch sittin’. Just because I can. My wife is going to do up the last of our tomatoes, so they don’t go to waste. With that I am off for a bite to eat this morning and after that I will enjoy a cup or two of fresh perked coffee with my lovely wife, that she makes so tasty, and then get to work. Take care and be safe. This virus is more dangerous now than it has ever been, with more cases being added every day. And with the kids back in school it will get worse. Hang on to your hat is the old saying, as we are in for a ride.
Morning Slice of Life Sep 20/2020
Good Morning! Well … we did have a wee bit of frost this morning most didn’t make it to the ground where it could do any serious damage this time. Which is good. The frost we had the night before last though, took its toll on a few items, but most handled it quite well as far as I can tell by looking at things. Once plants become mature they handle the cold much better. But even still, if we get down to below freezing and ice forms on your bird feeder, most tender plants are done for. On another note we are in the midst of some sunshine this morning and things will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. And next week is looking real nice with warmer temperatures entering into the picture for most days with lots of sunshine. Highway 522 is slowly edging back to its norm for our area, but there are still a lot of campers moving up and down the highway. I suspect they are heading home. Yesterday I got to work and cleared out all my old tomato plants that were about had it, along with some other things. I like to get them out of the garden before it freezes. They don’t go to waste though, as I put them in a place to rot and given time they turn to mulch and I use the results for fertilizer back in my gardens. One thing a person should know is that nothing should go to waste, everything can be reused given time. In the gardening section that is. LOL Today I will continue on working in our new Cottage to be installing the sink, taps and things. It’s coming along. Once finished I will see if I have any leaks LOL. Moving along I see this virus is expanding its territory since we opened the schools and things with more than 400 yesterday. I have to shake my head sometimes. The thing is it hasn’t gone away. At any rate I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, do some chatting and then get to work. No breakfast this morning. I like to keep my body guessing LOL. Have a great day and stay safe.
Morning Slice of life Sep 19/2020
Good Morning! Well … we had our first frost here in Port Loring Ontario, Canada. And it was pretty heavy too with it covering almost everything in our gardens. It will be interesting to see if it hurt some of my plants. My tomatoes should make out okay, and along with that it will give them a nice flavour. My wife is going to be making some tomato relish this morning with what we have left. So she will be busy. Myself I will be working inside the new cottage to-be, installing the bar and cabinets I made. I turned on our new heater I bought for it when I got up this morning. So we will see how that makes out. It should work great, but time will tell. Highway 522 was a bit busy yesterday with folks stocking up for the week ahead. We did manage to get the grass all cut around the house here yesterday, which took most the morning. Looks nice for sure. Our Sedum Plants are really turning pink and red now and will continue on for the next couple of weeks, giving us something new to look at. One thing about my wife’s gardens is that there is always something new showing off. Makes it nice for sure. With that I am off for some bacon and eggs this morning. We don’t have it often, but every once in a while I get the urge. LOL Take care and stay safe. Keep your distance and wear a mask, along with washing things down when out and about, including your hands and face. And don’t let anyone into your home. I see so much of that happening these days. It’s taking a chance that isn’t necessary. I keep on saying that this virus is going to spread fast once again once it gets a foot hold. It was just a few weeks ago that they were telling folks don’t worry we have it under control, we are below a 100 cases a day and started opening back up. It was the worst mistake they could have made. Yesterday we jumped from 300 a day to over 400 a day. That’s 12000 a month. And then we have some idiots out there questioning why this is happening. Well … all I can say is hang in their folks, and take extra precautions, especially when around those that don’t give a dam.
Morning Slice of Life Sep 16/2020
Good Morning! It’s another cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We haven’t seen much sun now for over three days. Today we could see some rain off and on throughout the day. Tomorrow however we will be back to sunshine. But along with that sunshine we will have some cooler temperatures. My feelings on things when it comes to this weather we are having is that the colder the better, as it will slow down other virus’s that is waiting in the wings. The trick now is to take extra precautions. Highway 522 is slow these days with just the locals moving about. Yesterday I did a lot of work on the cottage itself, fixing the door and caulking around windows and things. We don’t have many more days that them things can be done. Today we will finish up the bar and the kitchen cabinet. Once they are done up nice I can install the sink and things. Then it’s on to making a large wall cabinet I have in mind, that will go on the wall above the bar for dishes and things. So … still lots to do, but it is slowly coming together. The main things now is to get things ready for winter outside. We still have some tomatoes the wife wants to do up, so I am surmising she will be working on that in a day or so. With that … I am off for my morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat with my lovely wife, and then will get to work. Have a great day and stay safe!
Morning slice of Life For Sep 15/2020
Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We could see some showers throughout the day and maybe a thunderstorm tomorrow. So … a couple not so nice days is upon us. But Thursday is looking good with the return of sunshine. The weather this time of year for our area is all over the place. Highway 522 is slowing down these days with mostly locals moving around, checking out the sights LOL. We have had a few folks that just moved into our area stopping in saying hello. Which is nice. Yesterday I worked in the shop on a new pine kitchen table for our cottage to be and will finish it up today. My wife is painting and staining our bar I built and kitchen cabinet. Once that is all done up I will install the sink and fasten down the tops. Will be nice to get that out of the way. Once done we can then move onto decorating it with some new items we ordered. But it will be a real nice place for folks to stay when all said and done. Just as nice as our home now with all the modern conveniences, we added like … cable TV, internet you name it LOL LOL. On another note I am happy the firewood is all put into the house for winter piled nicely and keeping dry. The nice thing is we don’t have to go out into the cold come winter, everything is right at hand. That new New mac Wood Furnace we have is sure nice. Not only that but it cut down the amount of wood we burn almost in half. And a nice clean heat too. In another week I will get busy cleaning out our veggie gardens getting it ready for next spring. Then before it snows I will till it up a bit. So lots to do but in saying that, we do enjoy doing them. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and do some serious chatting LOL and then get to work. Take care, and be more vigilant with this virus that is lurking in the wings. Its more dangerous now than it has ever been. More people are being infected every day, we are well over the 300 a day now and rising. That works out to over 9000 a month. Not good my friends. But the good news is if we wear a mask at all times when out and about, and wash things before you put them away in your home, and keep your hands away from your face and wash them good too. It will help a lot. Have a great day.
Morning Report Sep 14/2020
Good Morning! Well … we are finally getting a wee bit of sunshine here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It will cloud up for tomorrow with a slight chance of a shower late tomorrow night and into Wednesday. So it might be a good idea of taking advantage of what we have today. Yesterday I managed to finish putting in our winter wood. It took me two days this year. Makes me feel good knowing, no matter what we will be warm this winter. The best move I made moving to this neck of the woods was installing a new wood furnace that works alongside my oil furnace. Today if my friend Kerry has time to do an oil change on my car, I will take it to him. If not I will work away in my shop on a small kitchen table I am making for our new Cottage to be. I did glue up the top a couple of days ago but got distracted with the firewood. This time of year I do things in sequence, as they are needed. Highway 522 was quiet over the weekend but it will probably pick up as the day moves forward. With that take care of yourselves.
Morning report Sep 13/2020
Good Morning! It’s a cloudy rainy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. It did rain off and on through the night and will continue for most the day. Tomorrow however, we should be back to sunshine for most parts. Highway 522 was busy yesterday being Saturday and everyone out and about getting things for the weekend. For myself I was busy bringing in firewood for most of the day while my lovely wife was doing some staining on the new bar top I made for our cottage to be. Later on she helped me finish things up for the day. I did manage to get about half of it in for winter, so I am happy about that. I was going to finish it today … but with this rain I don’t think I will be able to. Tomorrow will be nicer. On another note my veggie garden is winding down for the year. We did have a lot of nice produce, and sold a bunch too. We do have some tomatoes left which my wife is going to make into tomato sauce and juice. I like the juice for drinks throughout the winter months. The tomatoes you buy in the store throughout the winter has no taste what’s so ever. We don’t buy them. Not sure why they even grow them to be honest. Oh well, as I always say it is all about money these days not quality. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and do some chatting. With this rain … I might have a second cup. Take care and stay safe!

Morning Report Sep 12/2020
Good Morning! Well … we did have some sunshine early this morning but at the moment clouds are entering into the picture. We should see some sunshine off and on throughout the day. At least I hope we do. Temperatures have cooled down some these days. We have been having to turn on our oil furnace now for the past week in the early morning hours. Takes the dampness and coolness out of the house. My old bones don’t seem to like the damp cold weather anymore. Highway 522 is slowing down these days now that the kids are back in school. Yesterday my wife and I got our mowing done for the week, which usually takes the morning. Then in the afternoon we took things a bit easy enjoying a drink or two together. I figured we should get our body rested up for what’s to come, which is putting our firewood in the basement for winter. Which I will get at after we have our morning cup of coffee. It usually takes me two days. Sometimes three LOL. I like to get it in while it is nice and dry. Once that is done I can rest a bit mentally wise LOL. I always feel better knowing that no matter what the winter brings us we will always be warm. Add some preserve’s that my wife has made, along with a few things in the freezer, we are pretty well set for anything. We have been doing that for all our lives. Best to be prepared, especially with what is going on in the world today. So with that … I am off for that cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will then get to work. Sure looks nice outside these days. We can’t get enough of it. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right.

Good Morning! Well …. it’s another cloudy rainy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We haven’t seen any sun now for two or three days. Today won’t be much better with the rain staying with us for most of the day. Tomorrow though we should see lots of sunshine if my prediction is on course. And if we are really lucky, which I think we will be, the long range forecast is looking good too with more sunshine in store for us for two weeks or so. Time will tell though, as I don’t believe anyone or any machine knows for sure what is going to happen when it comes to Mother Nature. But it’s fun playing around with it. Highway 522 is slowing down even more these days, which is a good thing. The kids are back to school in a lot of areas, so we will see how that goes in a few weeks. Takes awhile for things to start happening if they are going to happen. Myself I don’t think it is a good thing sending them back, as we do have the means nowadays to teach them just as well at home, as in the schools. I also can’t understand why some think that education is more important than a child’s life. You know, I believe with what they are learning on the Internet, and from talking to folks today, that most would make out pretty darn good without school. We older folks did okay in our day without much schooling, and are still doing quite well today. At any rate I know things change … that is my feelings on the subject. LOL On another note my wife and I have been really busy in the cottage to be these days. I almost got the bar and sink cabinet finished. I also ordered a new heater for the cottage which works quite well. It’s portable and plugs into the regular outlets. Time will tell how that goes. It should be okay as I have it insulated really well, with new windows and an insulated steel door with a window in it too. We do have to start bringing in firewood for winter soon, so that is on our minds. With it being so wet I think we will wait for a week then get at it. I am not going to put in as much as I usually do this year, as I am planning on burning a bit more oil. Hmm …. I guess I am getting a bit lazier LOL in my old age. We will see how that goes. With that … I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and do some chatting. You know … we have been together now for close to 50 years now, and we never get tired of chatting with each other. And on top of all that … our chats are interesting. LOL. Take care my friends, stay safe and be vigilant more than ever now with this virus. It’s very patient and very deadly for some.

Today my old weather stick is saying that fishing won’t be very good once again. I give it a 2-Star Rating out of 5 for catching a few. With this rain and things I feel it’s best to stay home. But hey … you do what you have to do. LOL Temperatures this morning were sitting at 15.5 C | 59.9 F. It won’t warm up much more than that. The winds are light coming in from the South West. Good Luck and Stay Safe. With this weather things can get slippery in the boat and on them rocks.
Morning Report Sep 9/2020
Good Morning! It’s a cloudy rainy day here in Port Loring Ontario, Canada. Temperatures have sure cooled down sitting at 15.5 C | 59.9 F. It is looking like this weather will remain with us for another day before we see some sunshine. We actually had to turn our oil furnace on in the house the past couple days to take out the dampness and warm things up at touch. Highway 522 is slowing down with a lot of tourists moving back to the cities. Which is a good thing in part, but not so good for them in part. Especially with the opening up of business’s and schools. I know we have to open some things, as our country is dependent on money. It is projected that the federal debt will hit $1.2 trillion by the end of the year. $1.2 trillion is about $31,000 for every Canadian — including children and retirees. I am thinking it will be many years before things get back to normal, if we ever do. Too bad, but that is how we made it. I believe we have to stop funding a lot of huge corporations and a lot that aren’t really hurting or can get by on what they have now. In doing so, we will then have enough cash to help those in real need. I say that again in real need. We are so close now to finding a vaccine, we just have to hang in there for a bit longer. Another thing is that some are saying this virus picks on some, like immigrants more than those that have lived or been born here in Canada. I say that is because they now make up of most our population. To me that is just crazy thinking. This virus picks on anyone that it comes in contact with. It’s not fussy. Simple as that. To me … this is just a way of some getting more money. But hey! Now don’t get me wrong. I am aware and know that it does hurt some … more than others like those with health issues and the elderly that have a low immune system. So with that off my mind. I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will then get back to some inside work on our new cottage to be. It’s sure coming along now. Looking more like a small home now all done up. LOL With staying home these days we all have a lot of spare time on our hands. Take care, stay safe and hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I don’t mean a light to … the hear after. And remember what I say here on my Blog is my opinion only. Your entitled to yours. LOL
