Good Morning!
It’s a cold morning waking up. The temperature dropped through the night and is sitting at -6.8 C | 19.76 F. The winds are light, coming in from the North West. It will remain cold for another day or so. We will also see some more snow at times throughout the day, which could make travelling difficult. Might be a good day to stay at home. It’s quite a change from yesterday, that’s for sure. But the rain and warmer temperatures we did have got rid of a lot of snow.
With the melting that took place, it will make things a bit hazardous for the snowmobiles, so care should be taken if you’re out and about, as the lakes and streams will soon become unsafe to travel on.
On another note, my wife and I drove our neighbour friend to Sundridge yesterday, so she could look after a few things.
She did well … my wife and I while waiting picked up a few things, and we drove back home.
Despite the weather, it was a fantastic day all around.
Today I will see what develops and go from there.
With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is preparing for me. Have a great day and stay safe. GW
Good Morning!
It’s a cloudy morning here, waking up in Ontario, Canada. We are having a few flakes of snow coming down, but no new accumulations overnight. Highway 522 is bare and wet this morning. The snow we were supposed to get, I am thinking, will be mostly rain starting tomorrow. Reason being the temperature will rise well above the freezing mark later on today. We will see how that turns out. As of now, I would say we still have a good foot or more still on the ground.
On a different note, yesterday I worked steadily on my new mystery novel, and will do so again today.
It will be the first of a series. I have to say it has been a bit challenging being that I am writing Fiction/Sci-fi instead of real life, but I am closing in on the ending.
After it is finished, I’ll see whether it can maintain interest.
Every writer holds his or her breath at this point.
Have a great day. GW
Good Morning!
It’s a sunny morning here in Ontario, Canada. It sure is nice to see the sunshine. However, it is cold outside, with the temperature sitting at -14.6 C | 5.72 F. Highway 522 is bare this morning, which will make travelling good. In saying that, we do have warnings up for our area, saying that a not so good winter storm is heading our way, starting tomorrow afternoon; and it will continue on until Saturday. It’s possible we could see over a foot of new snow. Kind of depends on which way the storm tracks. So, we will have to wait and see how things work out. I would think if anyone has to go to the big cities for anything, today would be the day.
On another note, I didn’t do all that much other than work away here in the house yesterday, and today I will be doing the same.
With that I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is putting together and will then see what develops for the remainder of the day. Stay safe! GW
It’s another cold morning here in Ontario, Canada. It appears that winter isn’t done with us yet. The night before last we had another 3 – 4 inches of snow and this morning we are having a bit more. Until the wind switches from the North, we won’t see much of a change. But as I said before, the warmer temperatures are lurking in the wing. The temperature waking up was sitting at -11.6 C | 11.12 F. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward. With the transition of temperatures about to take place, there is a good chance that from Thursday to Saturday we will be seeing a lot more snow. Highway 522 is bare so far this morning, which will make travelling pretty good. For my wife and I we aren’t in need of anything, so we will be staying put. Which is a good thing, as by staying home, our chances of spending money decreases a bit. LOL
Yesterday, my wife and I had to clean out our driveway once again. I didn’t wake up my snowblower, as with the snow being so light we decided to clean it by hand, figuring it would give us some exercise. Which it did.
Today I will continue working away here on my computer.
With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal that my lovely wife is putting together for me. Stay safe. GW
Good Morning!
It’s a cloudy morning here in Ontario, Canada. We did have some more snow through the night. I would say around 2 inches. Highway 522 is partially snow covered, which will make travelling not so good. But it should melt off as the day moves forward. The temperature waking up was sitting at -8.5 C | 16.7 F. It will warm up a bit later on.
On another not, other than working away here on my new mystery novel, I haven’t done all that much. Felt kind of under the weather again yesterday, not sure what that is about. So will be taking it easy once again today.
Other than that, not much else going on in and around our small town.
Stay safe. GW
Good Morning!
Starting things off, it is another cold morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. The temperature waking up was sitting at-13.7 C | 7.34 F. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward, and we could see a few flakes of snow later on this afternoon. Being the nights have been so cold, the snow we do have hasn’t melted all that much through the day. In saying that, the warmer temperatures are lurking in the wing so speak, and it won’t be long before they make their grand entrance. It’s the way Nature teaches us humans patience. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which once again will make travelling good for those wanting to head on off the big cities or???
On another note, yesterday I worked away here on my new mystery novel I am putting together, and today will do the same. Things are rolling along in that department.
With that, I am off a Pumpernickel Bagel this morning with some good old peanut butter that my lovely wife is preparing for me. It’s good to have an assortment of different foods to eat.
First, though, we’ll have a Florida Grapefruit, which is in season right now.
But, they are becoming increasingly difficult to buy in supermarkets, since grocery companies are now purchasing them from Israel and places other than Florida.
It all comes down to money; they buy it cheap and feel they can earn more money.
To be honest, they lose money since the ones that aren’t from Florida are worthless with no flavour or juice at all.
It’s a pity what some of our businesses are doing these days.
Gouging the working man to death.
Yet, given enough rope, they will eventually hang themselves.
I should say, some will, others will cry the blues to our Powers That Be, asking for freebies, and regrettably, most will get it, since these so-called Powers That Be don’t want to rock the boat and lose some votes in the next election. Sign of the times. My Opinion Only, of Course.
Have a great day and stay safe. It pays to take extra precautions when out and about these days, as there is still a lot of sickness around.
Good Morning!
It’s a cloudy, cool morning, waking up here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The temperature was sitting at -10.1 C | 13.82 F. It will warm up a touch as the day moves forward. And we should see a wee bit of sunshine as the day progresses, which would be nice. Highway 522 is bare this morning, which will make travelling pretty good.
Nonetheless, one should use caution since there are quite a few deer in the area.
We were driving to town yesterday, when a couple ran across the road in front of us.
If you see one, chances are there is more behind it. We are also having a few light flurries this morning, but it won’t amount to much.
Other than that, not much going on in and around our small town.
Breakfast, that my lovely wife is preparing for me, consists of; Pancakes with Maple Syrup with an Egg on top. Just because we can. Stay safe. GW

Good Morning!
So how you all doing this morning? I hope you all woke up with a mind that wants to move forward? Life is a journey with a lot of uncertainties. Having said that, these uncertainties are what we’re meant to be using, in order to see this journey for what it is.
That’s all I have to offer regarding life in general this morning. Ha ha.
On another note, it is a cool morning here in Port Loring, but it will warm up as the day moves forward. Highway 522 is bare and dry, which will once again make travelling good. On the subject of travelling, my lovely wife and I did make a trip to North Bay yesterday to pick up some groceries and things. The main reason I decided to go was because we were out of cheese. Ya, I know, what has cheese got to do with it. Well … when we run out of cheese, we’re out of groceries. Ha ha. If there is one thing on this earth that I can’t do without … it’s cheese. It might cost me $15.00 for a block of good aged cheese, but in my mind it’s worth the $35.00 worth of gas to get go and get it. Strange, huh? I agree! But I am what I am.
While in town, we picked up what we needed, filled our car with gas, that was the price of gold; had lunch in our car while people watching chatting to each other, and then headed on home. It was a great day, other than what it cost us to get this all done. On the way home the sun came out which gave us the insight that our endeavours for the day had purpose.
Today I will once again work away here on a few things I have on the go. It’s nice to be able to do the simplest of things. Like, putting your pants on in the morning without asking permission from anyone.
Stay safe. GW
I told you yesterday we’d seen some wild turkeys walking up our highway heading west… well, here’s a photo to prove it. There is three more ahead of them.
Good Morning!
It’s a bit cloudy this morning here in Port Loring, Ontario. In saying that, we will have some sunshine on and off all day long. The temperature has still been a touch cool through the evening hours, but the daytime temperatures are warming up. Which is good news for the Maple Syrup folks. Getting out of bed it was sitting at -6.6 C | 20.12 F. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning which will make travelling good once again.
Other than that, not much else happening in and around our small northern town. Knowing that, I am off for a piece of toast that my wife is making for me out of our homemade bread, and after that I will work on my novel that I am writing. It keeps my mind busy.
Many forget that the mind need just as much exercise as the body, if not more.
A healthy body comes from an active brain.
Stay safe. GW
Good Morning!
Starting things off, it is another sunny morning here in Port Loring. The temperature is still a touch cool, sitting at -6.1 C | 21.02 F. But it is two degrees higher than yesterday morning. The sunshine will remain with us all day. And it will warm up more as the day moves forward, which will get rid of some more snow. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, and other than 5 Wild Turkeys walking up the highway heading west, there isn’t that much traffic. Usually they drop by our bird feeder, but with all the snow I guess the decided to take an alternate route. Can’t say I blame them.
On another note, yesterday I worked away once again on my new novel I am writing, and will do the same today. It’s really coming along now.
Other than that, not much else happening in and around our small town. For those wanting to know how much snow we have left on the ground, I would say around a foot or so. More in drifts. The ice on the lakes hasn’t gotten yet to where the snowmobiles can’t run, but it won’t be long.
With that, I am off for a bite to eat and will then see what the day has in store, other than what I have planned. Life is like a mystery novel, actually. You never know what the next page might bring. Stay safe, there is still a lot of sickness out here. My wife and I have been feeling a lot better since we have been able to set outside in the sunshine. It’s amazing how much we humans need it. GW
Good Morning!
Our actual cold weather appears to have left us for the year.
The trees, animals, and air currents are all predicting a shift in the weather.
The evenings, however, will stay cold until the end of the month.
This morning we are having lots of sunshine shinning down upon us, and it will continue for the next week. If you can find a nice spot out of the wind, you would be wise to wake up one of your lawn chairs. I brought ours out a week ago and set them on our front porch, which is on the south side of our home. The temperature sitting out there while enjoying our afternoon tea got up to 80 F. Just as nice as if you were in Florida. Today we will do the same.
Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good.
On another note, I am still working away on this new novel I have in the works. It’s been a long time coming. I think I started it twenty years ago. But with so much going on in my life, I set it aside. This year I decided to finish it. At any rate, that’s what I will be doing today.
With that I am off for some waffles this morning that my lovely wife is making for me and will get to work. . Stay safe. GW
Hello and good morning!
I hope everyone who reads my blog is staying healthy.
My lovely wife and I have been doing OK these days, both of us feeling much better than we have been.
It’s difficult enough to get through life without having to deal with illnesses on a daily basis.
Moving along, it is a cloudy morning here in Port Loring. I don’t predict we will be having too much sunshine today. Tomorrow, however, it should return.
My wife and I have been sitting on the front porch for an hour or so, for the last three or four days, soaking in some much-needed Vitamin D3.
It also feels great on the skin.
It makes a person feel alive and motivated, wanting to do things
The temperature has been well above the freezing mark for a while now, and will continue for the next week. Which in turn will get rid of a lot more snow. I myself, am ready for seeing green … instead of white. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good.
With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning and will then see what the day has in store. Stay safe. GW
