Good Morning! It’s another cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We should see some sunshine for a while, but then clouds will enter into the picture. It is cool this morning with temperatures sitting at -14.6 C | 5.72 F. It will warm up a few degrees as the day moves forward. Not much though. Highway 522 is partially snow covered with some icy sections throughout. Not that you should be going anywhere, unless you are in need of some groceries or things of importance. Which actually is what my wife and I did yesterday, as we had to go to North Bay to pick up our groceries we ordered online. I have to say it wasn’t the greatest ride in with the snow we had the night before, but on the way home the roads cleared up somewhat, which made things a lot nicer. We even had some sunshine thrown into our adventure for good measure. I have to say it sure looked pretty with all the snow on the trees. I would say we had around another 6 inches or so to add to the 8 – 10 inches we have now on the ground. While there we dropped off some things to our son in his parking lot. Chatted a bit with our masks on keeping our distance, and then headed on home stopping off in a parking lot to have our lunch. There we sat, chatted to each other and watched what others were doing. In other words being a bit nosey LOL. After that we headed on home taking in what nature had to offer. Once home my wife put things away and for the rest of the day we took it easy. It’s a full day to go to North Bay and back when all said and done. Nice though as it gets us out away from things for a few hours. Today we will clean up the snow we had the day before yesterday, and then I am thinking a rest will be in order. Kind of anxious to see how my snowblower works, it is only a couple of years old, but the reverse didn’t work worth a dam, so I finally decided last week to take it apart and see what was going on. All I could see was that it needed a bit of lubricant which I applied. Seems to work fine now, but … I haven’t tried it out in some snow yet. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife, and will then see what the day has in store. You just never know. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right as this virus is getting much worse.

Good Morning From Port Loring! Ontario, Canada. It’s another cloudy day here in our small community. We are also having a few flurries which will continue on throughout the day. The snow will stop, as night fall approaches. I don’t really think it will amount to much, but in saying that, here in Port Loring anything is possible. Highway 522 is wet and bare so far this morning, but that could change. Around town things are quiet with a lot of folks doing what they should be doing …. staying home. As it is getting bad out there with this virus. And for those that think it is nothing to worry about, what do you say about the 100 people a day that are dying from this virus in Ontario alone. And while on that subject … one thing that bothers me a lot, is that everyone is saying … well if you look at the statistics the folks that are dying the most are the seniors in homes and places. What the hell does that mean?? Is it that we older folks don’t matter?? Makes me shake my head with the mentality of some people. It’s the same as this thing that is going around Black Lives Matter. Hell every life matters!! If asked I would say that most of all these folks that are promoting this stuff, are causing more harm than good. And one last thing. A lot of folks are saying that it is the virus that is to blame for it spreading so rapidly. That makes me shake my head too … as in reality … it’s also what we humans didn’t do. Anyways … that is my Slice of Life for this Saturday morning. Take it for what it’s worth. With that I am off for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and a bowl of oatmeal, and will get back to my shop reorganizing. It’s been a week of 8-hour days, and I am still not finished. LOL Take care, stay safe and do what’s right to protect yourself, family and friends.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. Kind of a norm for this time of year. We could see some light flurries or freezing rain later on today. There is a freezing rain advisory in effect at the moment. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning so far which will make travelling good, but that could change in a bit. However, … no one should be going anywhere other than for groceries or things that are necessary. We have around ten inches of snow in total on the ground here in our area, Temperatures though have been quite mild for most of our winter so far. This morning the temperature getting out of bed was sitting at -0.8 C | 30.56 F right on the freezing line of things. It will cool down a lot starting Sunday. On another note I have been working redesigning my woodworking shop for the past week. Not doing as much woodworking over the years a lot of my things needed fixing and dusting off. Heck of a mess. But I decided to get back into it a wee bit, just enough to keep me busy. I am kind of missing it. The reason I haven’t done much was that my allergy to dust and things has bugged me to where I could hardly do anything out there. Now though knowing what I have learned over the years came up with my own filtering system using and old box fan with a good furnace filter attached to it. Works great and the air in my shop is always nice and clean. Other than when I open the door to my shop stove too quickly. When that happens I head for the house for a coffee till things settle down LOL. Speaking of coffee I guess I will go and have one now with my lovely wife, and then see what the day has in store. Take care, stay safe as this virus is now getting out of hand.

Good Morning! It’s another cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Temperatures though have risen substantially sitting at -1.3 C | 29.66 F. It will warm up a touch more later on. So not a bad day temperature wise that’s for sure. And along with that the winds have changed from the north to the south-west which, usually brings in warmer temperatures. For how long … who knows. The downside of the warmer weather it could bring us some more snow or even ice which I don’t like. But it is winter … so anything and everything is on the table for our area. Highway 522 is wet throughout this morning, but travelling should be okay being that the temperature is in the mid-range. On another note I worked in the shop all day again yesterday on a wall cabinet for our cottage. It’s about finished now other than the door which is done, where my wife is going to do a painting on the front of it. Once that is done I will stain and urethane it and install it in our cottage for all to enjoy. That is when ever this virus is finished annoying us humans. Which might be awhile by the looks of things. I don’t think this year will be much better than last year, if anything it will be a lot worse. Today I decided to do some changing around in my woodworking shop making things easier to get at. Problems arise when you have all the toys but don’t know where they are located. LOL Some days it takes me a half hour to figure out where I put things. LOL So that is about to change. I think. The trouble with a small shop is that there is only so much one can do or move things around. I wonder if there is woodworking shop designer out there LOL LOL At any rate … I will do what I can. It can’t be any worse than it is now LOL Sheesh. So with that you all take care and stay safe. Chat tomorrow.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy frosty morning here for Port Loring, Ontario Canada. Kind of unusual for this time of year. But it is nice to see with the trees all covered with white frost. Highway 522 is bare and dry, and if we are lucky we could see some sunshine on and off throughout the day. Which will make it nicer. Temperatures are still cool this morning sitting at -16.4 C | 2.48 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward. On another note I have been keeping busy in my woodworking shop working away on a new wall cabinet for our cottage to be. It’s coming along and should be finished today, other than staining and painting, which I will get too in a day or so. Other than that not much happening in our small community these days. With that I am off once again for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife and will then see what the day has in store. Take care and stay safe. It’s getting pretty bad out there virus wise these days.

Good Morning! We are having a touch of sunshine this morning, but it is cold. The temperature getting out of the sack was sitting at -16 C | 3.2 F. It will warm up a bit but not much. This is the kind of weather where your firewood starts to pay for itself. The other alternatives to wood heat, are still too high in price to talk about. LOL Looking out Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning. It also has been quite quiet, not much traffic … as, well, simply put, with the stores being closed down no one has any place to go. Which I believe is a good thing with this virus now well over the 4000 mark a day here in Ontario alone. But as I say there is no one to blame, than the people themselves. The old saying is … give certain folks enough rope they eventually hang themselves. The trouble with that saying in this instance, is that they take a lot of others with them that shouldn’t be taken. Such is that. On another note I have been busy in the woodworking shop these days working on projects for spring. Not for our store mind ya, as opening that would be inviting this virus to our door. The things I am working on is for us and our new cottage. The thing I like about it, is that it keeps my mind focused on what is important in life. With that bit of info under your hat I am off for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife and a bowl of oatmeal. After that I will see what the day has in store, other than what I have planned. You just never know. Take care, and do what’s right.

Good Morning! It’s a cold morning here In Port Loring Ontario, Canada. The sun is going to be with us for most of the day, which will make things a bit nicer to be outside. Temperatures getting out of bed were sitting at -16.9 C | 1.58. Highway 522 is bare and dry, and quiet these days with everything being closed down. Yesterday they announced that we will be shut down up here in the north for another two weeks. Which is a good thing. I am hoping they will extend it even further after that. As things are getting pretty bad. They need to keep things closed up tight till the vaccine is made available to everyone. Then things should start to improve. The thing is … we have to give up some things to get out of this mess. No other way. Yesterday I started to work in the shop but got distracted with some things here in the house. Today I think I will be working in the woodworking shop on some things I have in the works. I just put some more wood in the shop stove that I have been keeping going since Christmas. Feels good going into a warm shop. I also lit the wood furnace here in the house which is really nice. There is nothing like the warmth that comes off of wood heat. Especially on cold days like today. With that I am heading for my morning cup of coffee with my lovely wife and will then see what the day has in store. Stay safe and do what’s right for you, family and friends.

Good Morning! It’s another cloudy day starting things off here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. We should see some sunshine a bit later on this morning. One can only hope. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, so if it is absolutely necessary that you have to travel … your good to go. LOL. We haven’t had any more snow for the past few days, which is okay by me. Temperatures have stayed quite warm, but it is cooling down some this morning with it sitting at -8.5 C | 16.7 F. It will remain cool for the next few days before warming up a bit. Kind of nice for our area. On another note … my wife has been busy with orders for some paintings and I have been busy working on some new cupboards for our cottage. Which is keeping us busy. Today I will be doing much the same. It’s nice to have a shop that I can make things in. It is also nice to be making some things for us, rather than others. LOL Not complaining mind ya, as the woodworking business has held our head above water so to speak, for the past thirty years or so. Before that it was farming. Which I actually miss in some ways. I don’t miss the politics that surrounds it these days. So with that I am off for my morning cup of tea and a bite to eat with my lovely wife and will then see what the day has in store. Life is full of mysteries. Take care, stay safe as this virus is getting stronger every day.
Ontario reported a single-day record of 3,519 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, January 7/2021, as well as 89 more deaths of people with the illness — the deadliest day so far of the entire pandemic.
It should also be noted that we now know that people without symptoms spread the virus in more than half of the cases, which is just one more reason why we all should be wearing face masks’ and staying away from folks’.
And the worst part is that a lot of folks still believe that this virus isn’t all that bad. Makes me shake my head. But … such is people.

Good Morning!. It’s a nice looking day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. There are a lot of clouds but the temperature getting out of bed was sitting at -2.2 C | 28.04 F. Not to shabby for this time of year. It will get a touch cooler as the week progresses, but still well above normal. We have around ten inches of snow on the ground at this time. Highway 522 this morning is bare, dry and quiet with folks staying home as they should be doing. If folks here in Ontario had done that from the very beginning we would have had a lot less cases along with a lot less deaths. No one to blame but people themselves. I am beginning to think that around 50 % of our population here in Canada isn’t using that thing on their shoulders these days. And for the life of me … I can’t see why, as how much more evidence do they need proving that this virus is deadly and a lot deadlier than all the other diseases put together. You know these so-called people that say well … we have more people dying from heart disease or other diseases. What a stupid statement, as truth to be told these other diseases aren’t being spread like the virus is. And a lot of these other diseases are self-made and could be fixed with a better lifestyle. At any rate such is that. That is my slice of life for today LOL Take it for what it is worth. Stay safe and do what’s right.

Good Morning! It’s a cloud morning here in Port Loring Ontario, Canada. The temperature is quite nice sitting at -1.6 C | 29.12 F. It will warm up a bit above freezing as the morning progresses. The clouds however will remain with us for most of the day. Highway 522 is bare and wet this morning which will make travelling good, other than getting your car covered with salt and ? Not much we can do about it at this time of year. On another note yesterday I worked in my woodworking shop for most of the day and today I will do some cleaning and getting things ready to do some work making a few things. With that not much else happening in and around our small town. Which is growing, with new people moving into the area. Property that comes up for sale isn’t on the market that long anymore. People from the cities are buying up anything, and everything. Especially the choice properties along Highway 522. Good to know. Not that I am going to sell mind ya … as where would we go? LOL At the moment we live in the best part of the world. With that I am off for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife and will then let the day unfold around me. Take care and stay safe, we are well above the 3000 a day mark now of infections from this virus. And it is closing in on our area. Technically there is no safe place to get completely away from it. But the fewer people the better chance you have.

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. We were supposed to see some sunshine yesterday, but all it did was make and appearance and leave. The way things are looking now we won’t see much sunshine until the middle of the week. We haven’t had any more snow for the past couple days which is a good thing. There is enough out there now to make every one happy I would think. Highway 522 is bare and wet but there should be no problems going anywhere. At least in our area. Temperatures are staying quite mild for this time of year sitting at -3.5 C | 25.7 F. It will warm up a bit and should remain above freezing for a few more days throughout the day time hours. On another note, my wife and I went to town yesterday once again to drop off a few things for our son. We then picked up a few things from a distance and came on home. It takes a good day to go to North Bay and back home, no matter what way you cut it LOL. Then again, we do take our time taking in the sights along the way. That could have a lot to do with it LOL. Today I am going to start working in the woodworking shop as I have a few projects I want to do for our new cottage. I figure it will take a month or so to get all the things made that I want to make. After that we will see what goes on. With that I am off for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right with this virus. We are well over the 3000 a day mark now here in Ontario. And it will get a lot worse I suspect. That 3000 is probably a lot more, as a lot of testing isn’t being done. And the results from Christmas Shopping and New Years isn’t in yet. You can probably add another 2000 or more.
Good Morning Jan 1/2021
Happy New Year! So here we go starting off another year. I sure hope it is a better year than last. But starting things off things are looking pretty grim to say the least. Yesterday here in Ontario we almost hit the 3000 mark in infections and I suspect we will see a lot more in the coming days. If we stay locked down and people do what they should be doing the numbers should drop some. I hope the powers that be has enough sense to do what’s necessary. So far as I see it, none of them have done the right thing. On another note Highway 522 is mostly bare this morning, but there are some icy sections here and there from Highway 69 across to Highway 11. Care should be taken if out and about. The temperatures are staying quite mild this year sitting at -3.6 C | 25.52 F this morning. A touch cooler than yesterday. Taking everything into account I think it will remain warmer than normal here in Port Loring, Ontario for the remainder of the winter. But with that comes more snow than normal. Today we should see a wee bit of sunshine later on and into tomorrow. Great couple days to get outside and breath in some of that fresh air that is all around us up here in the North. Yesterday my wife and worked cleaning up the snow around our place which took most of the day. Today I will do some work in my woodworking shop as I have a few things on the go for spring. With that, you all take care, stay safe and stay home unless it absolutely necessary. The only way this virus can spread is if we humans spread it. It’s a no-brainer on what needs to be done. But then again, it seems that there are a lot of people out there that have no ….. well, I won’t get into that.
Morning Chat Dec 31/2020
Well here it is. The last day of 2020. I am sure there a lot of folks hoping that 2021 is better. I suspect it will be in part, but not for a while. Especially here in Ontario … were now we are closing in on the 3000 a day mark. And I suspect it will get much worse before it gets better. We haven’t seen the results yet caused by all those that … just had to have presents for Christmas. Along with allowing the airplanes to move folks around from country to country. That sure isn’t helping things one bit. On another note the snow has stopped falling here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. We had another 3 or 4 inches yesterday. Lots of snow now for those that want to go snowmobiling. Today my wife and I will clean things up around the house here and help our neighbour with her deck and clean off her car. She is getting up in years. Then after that I suspect we will need a rest. Highway 522 is partially snow covered this morning with some icy sections throughout which is to be expected. Care should be taken if out and about. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at -4.4 C | 24.08 F With that … I am off for my morning cup of tea and a bowl of oatmeal with my lovely wife, and will then see what the day has in store. I make plans for the day, but I don’t plan the results. One just never knows, which makes things interesting. Take care, stay safe … especially now. Update: As of today, Ontario is reporting 3,328 cases today.
Morning Chat Dec 30/2020
Good Morning. It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. Temperatures getting out of bed were sitting at -4.6 C | 23.72 F. We could see another 4 inches of snow today as the day progresses. Just what we need. LOL. We did have another 8 inches or so the day before yesterday. So we are climbing the chart for snow in our area. The temperature won’t rise much more than it is today. Highway 522 is snow covered with a lot of icy sections throughout. So if out and about care should be taken. But you all know that … right? On another note my wife and I went to North Bay yesterday to pick up our groceries. We pick up our groceries without going in the store itself, as we order what we want online. Works great and makes life a lot simple, without taking the chance in catching this virus. We then visited our son at his apartment, in his parking lot, dropped off a few things that his mother made for him, chatted a bit and then headed on home, having our lunch along the way with a cup of coffee. We also chatted most on the way home on the phone to him too. I think since this virus came we have chatted more to our boys than ever before. The weather was great too with lots of sunshine, and it sure was a beautiful sight with all the snow on the trees. We just took our time and enjoyed it. I figured it was going to snow again today, so that is why we decided on yesterday. Another great thing was we gave them new snow tires that our friend Kerry got for us and installed. You know … I worked for Uniroyal Tire Centres, as Service Manager back in the day for a while and I always swore how good their tires were. But these one we have now are just as good if not better. Hmm, at least something has improved with time. LOL Today I will work away here on another podcast, that I have been putting together. With that take care and stay safe. This virus is really spreading fast now with everyone shopping at Christmas. No one to blame but ourselves.
Morning Chat Dec 28/2020
Good Morning! I hope this Monday finds you well. Ruth and I are doing okay so far. Weather wise we are having more than our share of snow, so far this year. Last night we had another good 8 inches or so. And it is still coming down. Snow will probably continue this morning, but should slowly taper off as the morning progresses. The one good thing is the snowmobiles will be happy. And once the lakes freezes over it will be a snowmobile-rs paradise. LOL I am not into snowmobiles, but I do enjoy the snow if I don’t have to go anywhere. I am thinking we will be putting them new snow tires to good use, that my friend Kerry just put on our car. Highway 522 is snow covered with lots of icy sections throughout. Unless it is absolutely necessary I would say it is a good day to hunker down at home. That’s what we will be doing. We should see some sunshine tomorrow, which will make things gorgeous out there. Especially with all the snow hanging on the trees like it is. This morning I dug a path to my woodworking shop and fed my birds. Well … not my birds, but I have noticed they are friendly. LOL One chickadee comes to see me every morning when I put the feed into the feeder. Nice little feller. He isn’t scared of me neither, as he walks around my hand on the feeder. I have to admit my wife and I sure get a lot of enjoyment watching them every winter. Along with one black squirrel. My wife feeds him a piece of bread of every morning. I think though we will cut back a bit as he is getting fat. LOL With that I am off for my morning cup of tea and a muffin for breakfast with my lovely wife, and will then get to work on another podcast that I am putting together. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right with this virus among us. It’s going to get a lot worse in the coming days, caused from all the shoppers that wouldn’t stay home at Christmas.
Morning Chat Dec 27/2020
Good Morning! With Christmas behind us, we are now all starting to look at what 2021 will be. I am inclined to think that things will get a bit worse before it gets better. I know for a fact things will never be as it once was. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that, even with these new vaccines in the works. Problems arise with getting everyone to have their two shots. Heck we can’t convince a lot of folks to even wear a mask, without getting them in for the vaccine. I have finally come to the conclusion, it isn’t about governments or any other institution for the mess we are in. The ones to blame, and I will say that again, the ones to blame … are the people themselves. Just because the stores, bars, churches and places like that were open, it didn’t mean it was okay that humans should go into them. We should have had enough sense to stay out of them places. No one, I will say it one more time is to blame but the people themselves. Actually most things I found that people are buying, they could do without. A lot of people today are spoiled rotten. It’s the same as a few doctors saying some surgeries can’t be done, and making a big deal out of it. I say probably half of the surgeries could be fixed by the people themselves. But hey who am I! People will be people, and I am afraid … given time, people will destroy themselves. Unless … they smarten up, but it sure doesn’t look like we are heading in that direction right now. Anyways … that is my rant for this morning. On another note Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning. The temperature isn’t all that bad neither sitting at -10.1 C | 13.82 F. Quite balmy out there. LOL Yesterday it took most of the day for my wife and I to clean up the snow we had. I would say we had around 8 to 10 inches of snow. More in some areas. Today I will take it a bit easy, maybe do a podcast that I have in mind. With that I am off for a bite to eat with my lovely wife and then will let the day do as it so chooses. You all take care, stay safe and do what is right.
Morning Chat Dec 26/2020
Hi Folks. How you all doing this morning? Good I hope. For my wife and I we are well, and truth be told we had a great Christmas. We spent it alone, with our boys staying at their home this year, which everyone should have done. We did however watch a movie together over the Internet, thanks to modern technology. Our boys being high tech set that up for us. We then had a real tasty turkey dinner that my lovely wife made, with all the trimmings, and then sat back and took things easy. What could be better than that? Not much. LOL On another note highway 522 is snow and ice covered for most parts this morning. Understandable with all the snow we had yesterday. In total, I would say we had around 8-10 inches or so. Of course there was more in drifts. Today we could have some flurries off and on by the looks of things, with the low-hanging clouds that is upon us now. The temperature has dropped substantially sitting at -12.7 C | 9.14 F this morning. It won’t warm up much more today than it is now. Today my wife and I will clean things up a bit, like our decks, around our car and the trails we have made throughout our property. That should give us the exercise that is needed for today. After that I suspect we both will be in need of a rest. LOL With that I am off for my morning cup of tea and a bowl of cereal, and then get to work. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right, like staying home … unless it is absolutely necessary that you have to go someplace. I am happy they shut things down, but it should have been done a lot sooner and longer.
Morning Chat Dec 22/2020
Good Morning! It’s a cloudy day here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The good part is, it isn’t that cold with the temperature sitting at -4.6 C | 23.72 F. It won’t warm up much more today. And if we are lucky we could see some sunshine a bit later. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning and should remain that way for most of the day. As of now it looks like we might have some more snow on Christmas day. Possibly 6 inches or so. Which will make it a white Christmas for many. Yesterday I worked on some things in the house here, and today will do much the same. On another note Christmas is closing in on us. And I see that they are going to close Ontario down for a few weeks because of this virus. My way of looking at it, they should have done that a couple of months or so ago. If they had, this virus wouldn’t be closing in at 3000 a day here in Ontario. They keep on saying that they are doing what is best for the Province and the people, and they won’t hesitate to do something once they have the scientific evidence. That is the biggest joke going, as the evidence is right in front of their faces. It all boils down to money and at the moment … it is what is running this country. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not blaming them as a whole, as the bottom line is, the people are the ones that is spreading it, as they aren’t staying home or doing what is right. Malls are full, churches are full, bars are full, restaurants are full and the large chain stores can hardly hold anymore. I believe that a lot of folks today don’t think for themselves, the powers that be tells them, the stores are open, and they believe it is safe to go to these stores, when it is not. Even taking precautions it’s not!! The thing is, we are so close now to making things right with the vaccines coming on board. But now that the people have made things worse, it is going to take a lot longer for us to get out of this mess. Simple as that. Well … that is my rant for this morning. And remember, all I said is my Opinion Only. Your entitled to yours. Take care and stay safe and do what’s right……… Stay home and stop going to these places. Talk to your family on the phone this Christmas. In doing so you might be saving their lives, or for that matter yours. Merry Christmas!

Good Morning! It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring, Ontario Canada. The temperatures have risen considerably sitting at -2.5 C | 27.5 F this morning. I actually went for a walk this morning it being so nice. We could see about an inch of snow today and a bit more tonight. Highway 522 is bare and dry so far. Yesterday my wife and I went to North Bay to pick up our groceries and visit our son in his apartments parking lot. It was cold, so we didn’t chat to long. We chatted on the phone on the way home. LOL There is something to say about modern technology. Looking around … the Walmart parking lot as jammed pack with people doing everything they shouldn’t be doing. Not one person was standing outside waiting to get in, so that tells me they are all in the store. But it wasn’t just Walmart, all the stores were full of people too. I sometimes wonder where folks’ brains are located. At any rate, we will pay the price that is for certain. I heard that the folks that were cleaning up the Walmart in North Bay, after the fire came from the London area and five of them had the virus while working there, and visiting places in North Bay. So … that tells me we will be seeing more cases arise in the days ahead. After we picked up our groceries that were brought to our car, and seen our son for a few minutes, we headed on home. Actually, all in all, we had a great day. With that I am off for my morning cup of tea with my lovely wife, and will then let the day do as so chooses. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right.
Morning Chat Dec 17/2020
Good Morning! It’s a cold morning here in Port Loring, Ontario, Canada. The temperature getting out of bed was sitting at -20 C | -3 F. However the sun is shinning which makes a bit nicer. It will warm up as the day moves forward, but it will still feel mighty cold out there. It will warm up for the weekend though, which will make it a bit nicer for the snowmobiles’. But in saying that, with the machines they have nowadays, and the clothes they buy, they have it pretty good comparing it to what us folks had in the olden days. Most of us couldn’t afford a snowmobile for one thing. LOL Myself I had an old horse that took me for my ride in the bush. That is … when the snow wasn’t too deep. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning and should remain that way for most of the day. There isn’t any snow in the forecast till the weekend. So that should make travelling good. Which you shouldn’t be doing, other than to pick up some groceries. I am sure that is why our numbers are crowding the 3000 a day mark of infections here in Ontario. I think we are in for some hard times and a lot more deaths. Even though we do have the vaccine. And it is all because some doesn’t want to wear a mask, or stay out of bars, churches, or large gatherings. Well … I am thinking they are going to pay the price. The problem is … they take a lot of others that are doing things right with them. Humans are supposed to be the smart ones of the species here on earth. I don’t believe that for one second anymore. On another note. I did get my shop stove stoked up, so things are nice and warm in there. I also lit my wood furnace, and it is also going nicely. It’s a great furnace! It only takes about four or five pieces of hardwood to keep this house of ours warm for most of the day. At night though, I switch back to oil. Why? Well … I am getting lazy and don’t want to get out of my warm bed through the night. LOL With that I am off for my morning cup of tea and a bowl of cereal with my lovely wife, and then will get to work on a podcast I am planning on doing. Take care, stay safe and do what’s right for yourself, family and friends. And if your going out there in our area, dress warm.
Baby it’s cold outside…..
