Good Morning!

It’s a cool, cloudy morning here in Port Loring. It was a few degrees colder overnight, but it has warmed up some now, with it sitting at -12.3 C | 9.86 F. It won’t warm up any more than it is right now. We are also seeing some more snow this morning, with another inch added so far to what we do have. Which in total is around 12–14 inches. Highway 522 is snow covered like yesterday, along with a lot of icy sections. So if heading out of town, make sure you put a blanket in your car and dress warm. Better to be prepared than not.

On another note, the weather will warm up for tomorrow and the next day … but on Thursday and Friday some major cold weather will move into our area. We could see it drop to -30F/-32C. So might pay to make sure you plug your car, truck or what ever in, on them two nights. After that, things warm back up.

Yesterday, my wife and I did nothing other than chatting about things and taking it easy for a change. Today I will work away on another story or two for my columns.

With that I am off for some Port Loring, Toast with some of Mike Clapperton’s, Worlds Best, Maple Syrup. A quote by Mike.

“I’m still loyal to my customers,” he said. “As far as the winning goes, my customers have been telling me for years that you make good maple syrup. This is just confirmation that everybody’s right.”

It is good, that’s for sure!

Have a great day and stay safe. A little precaution goes a long way these days. GW

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy morning here in Port Loring. We didn’t have any snow overnight, but it is snowing now. We will see what it has in its system as the day moves forward. Highway 522 at the moment, is snow covered with lots of icy sections throughout. It is also a touch cool outside, with it sitting a-12 C | 10.4 F. lt will warm up as the day moves forward, but not much. With the winds coming in from the north, these so, so cold temperatures will feel even colder. So, knowing that my lovely wife and I will be staying inside today.

As I have said many times, the older I get, the less I like the cold. I can see why folks enjoying going south, or to a warmer country, every winter. With all this money, our Powers That Be are giving away to other countries, if they wanted, they could pay for all us seniors wanting to go to where it is warm. Actually, that isn’t a bad idea, as it would save millions of dollars a year with health related issues, that us seniors obtain from staying in the cold. At the very least, they would break even, along with making the remainder of us older folks days, more comfortable & enjoyable. Would that ever happen. Not very likely. The truth of the matter is, they have their heads so wrapped up in themselves they can’t see any further than their nose. My opinion only, of course. Then again, they are even trying to outlaw free speech nowadays. Makes me scratch my head at times. If they ever did that, I guarantee it would come back and bite them in the ………

On another note, yesterday was another workout for my wife and I, cleaning the snow off our decks and driveway. I have to admit, we have had our share lately. Today we will recuperate once again. I did get my shop stove going yesterday, so that the ice and snow on my snowblower would melt. Now it is ready for our next batch, which is sure to come living where we do. The good news is we are heading into February, which is a short month away from March. When things should start to warm up some.

Today I will work away here on some stories I have in mind.

With that I am off for a bowl of cereal and will then see what the day has lined up for me. Life is like a mystery novel … you never know what the next page might bring. Until you turn the page, or as in life, as every hour passes.

Stay safe, there is a lot of sickness out there these days with this virus. And so I have heard it isn’t very pleasant, major chest issues and coughing, feeling sick, you name it, and one friend of ours said that after putting up with all that for a couple of weeks or more, now it has turned into pneumonia, and she is flat on her back in bed hardly being able to breath. So … it’s not all that good out there yet, by the sound of things.

Good Morning!

It’s a cold morning here in Port Loring, but not as cold as yesterday. Waking up, the temperature was sitting at -4.8 C | 23.36 F. It won’t warm up any more than it is now for the remainder of the day. After today things start to get a touch colder and will remain that way right up till the second week in Feb. So all in all, we, here in Port Loring, can’t call it a bad winter. It’s fine with me, as I am ready to see green again, and do some front porch sittin’.

Highway 522 is half snow covered with a lot of icy sections throughout. The thing about getting to Port Loring is … One Road In and One Road Out. Good in one way and not so good in another way. Reason being that after 20 years of going to North Bay for groceries, my wife and I know every tree stump ????, along the Highway. Hell, we even made friends with a Turtle that sits on a rock in one of the swamps. Every time we go by, I say to my lovely wife. “Is Myrtle sitting on her rock today?” Surprisingly she is. Not this time of year, though, but her rock is still there. Ha ha.

On another note, yesterday my wife and I took it a bit easy recouping from moving our last snow fall. I did remove some ashes from our wood furnace along with splittin’ some kindlin’ and a few larger pieces. Most of the time we only need smaller pieces to keep us warm. I call it a two stick fire. And it’s been that way so far for most of the winter. Which is a good thing, as if we had to burn oil it would have been expensive. I won’t get into that this morning. Damn Governments with their so-called bright ideas.

With that I am off for some pancakes this morning topped off with Mike Clappertons World Renown Maple Syrup.

After that, I will see. I never know. Life is a mystery in itself.

Stay safe, still a lot of sickness in our area. GW

Good Morning!

It is a touch cool this morning, the temperature dropped through the night, with it sitting now at -19.1 C | -2.38 F. It will warm up a lot as the day moves forward. At least for today … before dropping back down tonight and into tomorrow, with a bit of snow thrown in for good measure. It is a nice sunrise this morning looking out. Makes my whole day when I am able to watch the sun get out of bed. I often wonder how many people realize just how lucky we are to have it.

Highway 522 is pretty well clear throughout, but there are a lot of icy sections. There are also a lot of deer roaming around the area, crossing the highway, so a person has to really keep their eyes open for them. If you see one, there is usually more close behind.

Yesterday my wife and I did manage to get the snow cleaned off our decks, along with our neighbour, she is a very good friend of ours. Spry as a young kitten and only 94 years young. I also managed to get our snowblower woke up and cleaned out our driveway. I am glad we did, as if we don’t, and it gets too cold it makes it just that much harder to remove. Especially where the snow plow throws in the snow at the end of our driveway. Heavy wet stuff out there. Joys of living just off the highway. But it is one of the nicest areas to reside in. And our home is located far enough away from the highway that the traffic doesn’t bother us any.

Today my wife and I will recoup a bit after yesterdays work out and work here inside where it is warm. This time of year, the wood heat is sure feeling good. Nothing takes the cold out of the body more than heating with wood. I also get a lot of exercise moving the firewood, cutting, splitting, piling and then feeding our wood furnace.

Have a great day. GW

Good Morning!

The good news is we are seeing some sunshine this morning for a change. However, it has cooled down some, with the temperature sitting at -8.4 C | 16.88 F. On the not so good side of the coin, we did have another 4–6 inches of new snow overnight. Not that we really wanted it, as now my wife and I are in for another workout. We are still recuperating from the last bit we had. Not sure how that is going to work out. Anyway, later I will wake up my snowblower and see what takes place. Highway 522 is mostly snow covered, so travelling won’t be all that good.

On another note, my lovely wife and I took a trip to North Bay yesterday, picking up some groceries and things. It was a good day weather wise and the highways going in were mostly bare, and on the way home they were completely bare. We did have some light flurries going in, but nothing to cause us any problems. Looking outside this morning, I am glad we went yesterday.

We had a good time while there, other than the price of the food. I was surprised at how much they were charging for Chicken Breasts. I would say they rose around $5.00 since the last time we went in two weeks ago. And the packages weren’t all that big, neither. Also, I noticed that, over half of it, didn’t look all that good. I kinda think, that some of these groceries stores figures the shoppers don’t know how chicken should look, when they are starting to go bad. Could be why a lot of folks are getting sick these days, not knowing. Anyway, being raised on a dairy and fruit farm there is no fooling my wife and I. Gas also rose 15 cents a litre too. I can’t see how they can justify these prices other than being just plain greedy, not caring.

With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal, I thought I would see if a new kind bothers me. I like to try something new every so often. What I didn’t like was the price of it, when I got it to the checkout counter, I found it cost $12.00 a box. Sheesh. Almost fell over, probably should have put it back on the shelf. Ya, I know, always complaining about something.

Have a good day and stay safe if out and about. GW

Sometimes though it is necessary to cut down trees.

Good Morning!

It’s a cool morning here in Port Loring with the temperature sitting at -5.8 C | 21.56 F. We only had a skiff of snow overnight. We could see another inch or so later on this afternoon. As of now, highway 522 is bare, with a few icy sections throughout. The sander just went through.

On another note, we did manage to get our driveway and decks cleaned up, from yesterday’s snow, which amounted to about 4 inches. After that, I rested for the remainder of the day. Still not feeling up to par yet. Today will take it easy once again. One day feel good, one day not so good. My body is, like the weather up and down, doesn’t know what it wants to do.

With that I am off for a couple pieces of toast this morning, will see how that sets. Stay safe.

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy morning here, waking up. On the good side of the coin, we didn’t have any snow overnight. Which is fine with me. Winter is just starting, so to speak, and here I am ready for spring. But, it isn’t that far off, being 6 weeks away. The temperature waking up is still quite nice, with it sitting at -3.1 C | 26.42 F. It will warm up a bit as the day moves forward. Highway 522 is bare this morning for most parts, but there are some icy sections throughout.

Being such a gloomy day, I will be staying inside, working away here on some stories, for my newspaper columns that I write for. I have to come up with 52 stories a year, one each week, which keeps me hoppin’ now and then. But I enjoy doing it, that is when I have some stories in mind. Other than that, not much happening in and around our small town these days. I haven’t even seen all that many snow mobiles this year, neither. But then again we haven’t had all that much snow as yet.

With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning along with a piece of toast that my lovely wife is making for me. Then I will see what the day has in store. Take care. GW

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy morning here, waking up. Splittin’ some kindlin’ this morning, the temperature outside felt not so bad with it sittin’ at -2.4 C | 27.68 F. A lot warmer than yesterday morning. We could see some freezing rain or some light snow off and on throughout the day. But it will remain warm now for two more days or so. Which is fine with me as my snowblower said it needed a rest. Looking out, highway 522 is bare this morning, but there are still some icy sections throughout. So extra care should be taken if out and about. It would also be a good idea to keep an extra look-out for the deer crossing the Highway, as they have been migrating into our area now for the past two or three weeks now. And they don’t seem to mind the cars or trucks any walking out in front of them. Can’t really blame them, as they were here a lot longer than us humans.

On another note, I am still working away here on some podcasts which I will continue on doing for the next few days or so, and then will get to work on writing up a few more stories for my Newspaper Columns. I have a few in mind. I love to write, but it is getting harder and harder as after all these years topics are getting harder to find. Hmm, maybe you folks have some ideas that you think would make a good story? If so, send them along, it would be appreciated. You can send them to: [email protected]

With that, I am off for some pancakes this morning covered with an ample amount of fresh butter, just because I can, along with a bit of Mike Clappertons World Renown Maple Syrup. Pretty tasty breakfast to say the least.

Stay Safe. GW

Good Morning!

Starting things off, it is a cold morning here, waking up, with the temperature sitting at -19.8 C | -3.64 F. It feels more like winter now. But in saying that things will warm up a lot as the day moves forward, and for the next 4 days things will rise up to … a touch above the freezing mark. We could see a few flurries today, but nothing to write about. So far I would say we have around 6–8 inches in total on the ground, more so of course in drifts. Highway 522 is mostly bare, but there are a lot of snow covered areas throughout, along with a few icy sections. So care should be added to your things to do, if out and about. But you all know that anyway, right?

On another note, yesterday my wife and I after a half a days work, managed to get the snow we had cleaned off our decks along with the neighbours. I also got our driveway cleaned out, and should be good to go now, for a few days. You never know what might take place weather wise in this neck of the woods.

In the afternoon yesterday I worked away here on my computer, kind of felt good after the work-out we had moving snow. My old snow thrower helps a lot. Couldn’t do it without it, that’s for sure. It’s good machine. My boys bought it for me a few years ago for a Christmas Gift. You could say it’s a gift that keeps on giving. Ha ha.

With that bit of info under your belt or hat, I am off for a bowl of cereal my lovely wife is preparing for me, and then I will see what the day has in store. I never know. Head off doing one thing … end up doing something totally different. Life is a mystery.

Take Care! GW

Good Morning!

Starting things off, we did have some snow late in the day yesterday. I would say around 4 inches. Along with that, we are having a few flurries here this morning. Highway 522 is snow covered throughout. Which won’t make travelling all that good today. It’s the kind of day when it is best to say home if possible. The temperature is still not so bad, with it sitting at -6.3 C | 20.66 F. It will however cool down some early next week. So knowing that, I think I will wake up my snowblower later on today, or tomorrow and clean out our driveway. Depends on when the snow we are having now stops. We might as well wait till it gets it out of its system and the clean it all up at once.

On another note, yesterday was about the same as it has been for the past few days now, with me working on some new podcasts. Today I will carry on doing the same. I enjoy making them, especially when the weather is cold outside.

With that, I am off for some Port Loring Toast with a couple pieces of bacon this morning for a change. We don’t eat bacon all that much, but every so often we get the urge for a taste. When it comes to taste, I have always said. Chocolate for women, Bacon for men.

Anyway, you all have a great day, and if out and about, stay safe. GW

Works For Me!!

Good Morning!

It’s another cloudy morning here in Port Loring. We didn’t have any snow overnight. They are however calling for around 4–6 inches of snow starting later on today and into tonight. The temperature will also drop a bit. But by the looks of things we won’t be having any drastic cold now right up till March. Which is fine with me. If the temperature holds, it will end up being the warmest winter in over 20 years. But we will see how that pans out. Mother nature does what she wants, not what weather predictors call for. Highway 522 is bare so far this morning, but I think that will change a bit later on. So you might want to think about going anywhere. For my wife and I we are staying put.

On another note I worked once again on a few new podcasts yesterday, I am on a roll now ha ha. Today I will do the same. Other than that, not much happening in our area. Traffic has been light, without hardly a car or truck moving around. The odd ATV going to the beer store. With that I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning that my lovely wife is making for me and will then see what the day has in store.

Stay Safe. GW

Good Morning!

It’s another cloudy morning here, waking up. The good news is we didn’t have all that much ice through the night. The temperature is still quite nice sitting at -0.3 C | 31.46 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward, which will put things a touch above the freezing mark, which will get rid of a bit more snow. Highway 522 is bare this morning. And if lucky we could see a bit of sunshine later on as well. The not so good news is that starting tonight the temperature will start to drop, and tomorrow we could see up to 8 inches of new snow. Interesting. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to wake up my snowblower. But… it is that time of year.

On another note, I worked all day here on my computer on a few projects I have on the go, and will do the same again today. It is nice having things to do, as it keeps the old mind on the straight and narrow.

With that I am off for a couple flap-jacks that my lovely wife is making for me and will then see what the day has to offer. Life is a mystery, that’s for certain.

Stay safe there is still a lot of sickness and ??? around our area. Not only the virus, flu or colds neither. Kind of makes me wonder what is causing these certain issues. As where we are located, they shouldn’t be happening. Hmm

In Closing I Would Like To Wish You Well.

Good Morning!

It’s a cloudy, gloomy morning waking up. We did have some light freezing rain through the night, which covered Highway 522. Travelling won’t be all that good today, that’s for sure. We could also see some more freezing rain as the day progresses. Then back to sunshine tomorrow before we get some more snow on Thursday. So … once again, a mixed bag of weather. Days like this are when folks use more hydro, as being so gloomy and dark it’s human instinct to turn on the lights a bit more than they usually do.

On another note, yesterday I worked steadily on my podcasts along with a few other things related. It would be nice if I could get all my stories made into podcasts. It would probably take me three years or more, being that I have over 2000 stories. Not likely, but it would be nice. What a legacy that would be … to leave behind. Haha. As it is, at the end of the day, my mind has about had it. I can see now how these folks that have to sit in front of a computer screen, day in, and day out at work feels. Although I have been doing it now for years, just … I don’t have to do it if I don’t want to. Happy about that.

With that I am off for a bowl of cereal this morning that my lovely wife is preparing for me and will then see the day has in store. All good, I hope.

Good Morning!

Starting things off, it is a sunny morning here in Port Loring. The temperature has warmed up a lot, with it sitting at -5.9 C | 21.38 F. It will warm up even more as the day moves forward. We will also see some melting. But on Thursday we will get it back, as it looks like more snow is closing in on us. It is that time of year when you can expect, just about anything, especially where we live, here in the Great White North. Away from city life and …. Well, we used to be away from the city life Ha ha, but not anymore, as we are becoming more commercialized than ever before. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am all for moving ahead, as long as some of the good old lifestyle is left alone and allowed to move ahead at its own accord. The problem is, a lot today are trying to change things to their way of thinking only, I call them bullies, they hide behind laws, and groups of their own kind. If it ever came to a down right confrontation, you wouldn’t see them for dust. But at the moment they simply change the laws, so they are protected. Like removing all the peoples means to protect or fend for themselves. It’s an amazing world we live in. Personally, I think we will be damn lucky if we make it another 50 years.

Anyway all I said is My Opinion Only you can take it for what its worth.

Moving along Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. For my wife and I we are staying put. Safe place to be these days is at home, that is, if you can afford a home. It all boils down to greed, money and power and a few other things that I won’t mention. Anyway, enough of that Haha

On another note, I worked most of the day on some more new podcasts and will continue on doing some more today. I enjoy making them now with a bit of know how and a new program working on my behalf. With that you all have a great day and don’t forget to take your Vitamin D3 as it will help you immensely with all these colds, flu and virus’s that are among us.

Good Morning!

Well, it’s another cold morning here in Port Loring. The temperature is below the freezing mark, sitting at -19 C | -2.2 F. It did get colder through the night a couple degrees. Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good. It will also warm up a lot as the day moves forward, and tomorrow will be even warmer. Kinda nice for this time of year. Actually, all next week won’t be all that bad, temperature wise. I would say we have around six inches of snow in total on the ground. More so in drifts, of course.

When in town last week, I did notice that they were fishing out on Lake Nipissing. So the ice must be thick enough. Around here a person should be careful as with all the warm weather we have had, you just never know. Especially if you’re crossing over some fast moving water. It’s very deceiving.

On another note, yesterday I worked in the house here on my podcasts and things, and today will do the same. Too cold out there for my old bones. My lovely wife has been working away on her painting orders, along with the housework that needs to be done. That is a full time job in itself. She is one hard-working woman.

With that, I am off for a bowl of cereal and a piece of homemade toast, and will then see what the day has in store. I never know what might take place. I have always said … plan your day, but never the results. Works for me.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Well folks … it is a down right cold morning here in Port Loring, the temperature dropped through the night, and at the time of this post it was sitting at -22.2 C | -7.96 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward, but not all that much. Things will start to warm back up on Sunday. It seems the weather can’t make up its mind this winter on what it wants to do. I suspect it’s a sign that our world is changing the way it does things, as it has been doing, for over a thousand of years. And the thing is, there is nothing we can do about it. Some countries will be hard hit, while others will go ahead leaps and bounds.

With the winds coming in from the NNW this morning, it will make things feel colder than what it is. Truth told, it really isn’t all that bad considering where we live. I’ve seen it get down to minus -40C/-40F here in Port Loring. The good part is our wood furnace keeps us warm no matter how cold it gets. If we were burning oil, we would be in for some hard times financially. It’s bad enough now burning oil with the price that they are charging us. Gouging, I should say. It’s okay for the Powers to Be to sell it to other countries, but it isn’t okay to sell it to us Canadians … at a fair price. Totally ridiculous. I have no faith in Governments at all.

Highway 522 is pretty well bare this morning, but there are some icy sections here and there. The good news is the sun is shinning, which in spite of the cold makes it look a lot nicer.

On another note, I worked all day yesterday on some podcasts. I got lots done, and will continue on today doing the same. I would like to get enough done up for one year. Have to see how that goes. I also have a few ideas on a new series that I want to bring to life for my Podcasts along with the Newspapers I write for. I am hoping to get at that in the coming days.

Most of January and February I work in the house here where it is warm, and then come March will ease… myself back out to my woodworking shop, and from there to my vegetable gardens. Change is good.

With that, I am off for some Port Loring Toast this morning that my lovely wife is making for me. Some call it French Toast, but I favour Port Loring Toast. Put a touch of Mike Clappertons World Renown Maple Syrup on top, and you have yourself a fantastic breakfast treat.

Stay warm, and dress accordingly this morning. Don’t need anyone catching a cold, as there is enough of it going around as it is.

What’s Happening In & Around Port Loring, Ontario, Canada on Jan 13/2023

Well, starting things off, it is a cool morning here in Port Loring. The temperature waking up was sitting at -7.6 C | 18.32 F. It’s the kind of weather that a feller needs to put on a warmer shirt when going outside. My self I just wear my old Long-Handles, they have been faithful to me now for a good number of years keeping me warm. Once they get put on, my perspective on life takes on a whole new meaning. Kind of makes a feller think he is in Florida, feeling so warm an all.

Highway 522 is pretty well bare this morning, but there are some icy sections throughout. Knowing that kind of makes a fellow want to keep his foot off the gas pedal a wee bit. At least, it should. We didn’t have any more snow since yesterday afternoon, which is fine with my lovely wife and I. Yesterday was enough. We did get our driveway and decks cleaned off along with our neighbours. We help her out when we can, as she is up there in years. Even older than me. It took us most of the afternoon to complete the task. We don’t move as fast as we used to fifty years ago. The good thing about it was that we got some much-needed exercise along with breathing in some of our fresh northern air. Gets the old blood moving around, which is needed. I do however enjoy our wood heat after being outside. I have never found any other heat that can take the cold out of a body as quick as wood heat does.

On another note, I did do a wee bit of work on some podcasts yesterday, along with moving some snow. Today I will get to work in Ernest. I have a few on the go. To date I would say I have over 2000 short stories that have been published in Newspapers and Magazines all over Canada and the USA, along with a few other countries. Makes me feel downright proud, knowing so many folks are enjoying them. It is also nice to hear that a lot of folks are enjoying my Podcasts as well. And while on the subject of Podcasts and my Blog here, I would like to thank all those that have Bought Me Coffee over the past few months, showing their appreciation and support, for what I have been doing. It means a lot. I would also like to thank all those that have given me some fine reviews on Amazon, Google, Twitter, along with many other platforms. And finally, I would like to thank all those that took the time to email me, letting me know that they are enjoying what I do. Oh! And I can’t forget all those that have called me on the Phone and wrote me letters, it sure means a lot. Not may folks write letters anymore, that’s for sure. Some of your letters have inspired me to write about things that I have totally forgotten about. Thanks Folks.

With that, I am off for a bite to eat and will then get to work, or at least make an attempt. I never know what a day might bring. Stay safe.

Good Morning!

Well … it is a cloudy morning here, waking up. And we did have around 3 inches of new snow overnight. And it is still coming down. It is also quite cold outside, with the temperature sitting at -1.9 C | 28.58 F. The snow will continue on through the day and possibly into tonight until is eases off. Highway 522 is snow covered, which won’t make travelling all that good. I would suggest anyone heading into North Bay or ?? to wait for a better day. Unless you have to go.

On another note, my lovely wife and I did make the trip to North Bay yesterday, as we had our car booked in with Ford for some repairs that they can only do. Got there around 9:30 AM and sat in the waiting room till around 11:30 AM. Not that we wanted to, but the car needed to be fixed. Runs a lot better now. It was a fuel solenoid that went on the Fritz. The part only costs a touch over $100.00. But the labour is what hurt, and the diagnostic to find it is what cost the most. It was located in a hard-to-reach area up on top of the gas tank. So I suppose that would be a real job replacing it. Another not so good thing about it was, when the engine light comes on the remote-start won’t work, and at this time of year we really like it. As we can just stand inside our house and start it up and then after a few minutes when we are ready to go, the car is all nice and cozy so to speak. Ha ha. Something to be said for this high-tech technology we have today. But … you pay for it, that’s for sure in more ways than one. Like repairs after the fact.

Anyway we got that looked after, filled up our car with gas as the price was down a wee bit, with it sitting at $1.41 a litre or $5.64 a Gallon. You know, if the truth was told you would find out that the only reason the powers that be brought this metric into effect here in Canada, was to fool the people. Just take gas … what sounds better $1.41 or $5.64. Kind of ironic how the minds of some humans can be swayed. It’s not only done with gas though.

Anyway, after we filled up with the gas we decided to run our car through the car wash. Oh, I didn’t know that if you had a CAA card, and you showed it to them at the Shell station, when you got gas you got two cents off a litter. Helps a bit, but not much. You also can get a few points on your Air Miles card that only a select few accept nowadays. That is kind of a joke. And if you fill your car up, the car wash, you get two dollars off that. Anyway, after putting in $36.00 worth of gas, paying for the car wash and getting all our discounts Ha ha it still cost us a grand total of $53.00. My first car I bought back in the 60s only cost me $75.00.

After that we went and picked up some groceries which wasn’t cheap neither, had lunch in our car and headed on home. It was a great day other than all the money we had to lay out.

Today being so snowy outside, I will stay inside and work on some podcasts I have in mind. And along with that, my wife and I need a rest after yesterday.

Take care, there are a lot of people out there honkin’ and a sniffin’ these days.

Someone sent me this. Put a smile on my face.

Good Morning!

Not much taking place these days. We didn’t have any snow overnight, and I would say we have around six inches or so on the ground from the previous ice storm. The temperatures have also dropped a touch, with it sitting at -10.8 C | 12.56 F. It will warm up a wee bit as the day moves forward. We could see a bit of sunshine early this morning. Then clouds will roll in this afternoon, and we could see some more snow late in the day and into the night. Have to see how that goes.

Highway 522 is pretty well clear, there are a few icy sections, so care needs to be taken if out and about. But for most parts, travelling this morning should be good.

Yesterday I worked steadily on some podcasts and got lots done. Today I will see how things goes. You never know what a day will bring. You head off in one direction and end up in another.

With that, I am off for a bite to eat and will then see what the day has in store.

Milking Time Back In The Day!

Good Morning!

It’s a cool morning here, waking up with the temperature sitting at -10.7 C | 12.74 F. Another day when my old bed was lookin’ pretty darn nice. But with my feet on the floor, I figured I had better get moving as my wood furnace needed another piece of wood. It works great as long as you feed it. Kind of like myself.

Highway 522 is bare and dry this morning, which will make travelling good today, for those having to go anywhere. I did plug my car in yesterday, knowing the cold weather is going to enter into the picture. I don’t turn it on though till the temperature drops below 0 Fahrenheit. Just a waste of money doing that. What I did, I hooked it up so that my Google Home could turn it on when I told it too. Works great, and now I don’t have to go outside in the bitter cold to turn it on. Something to be said about some of this modern technology.

Yesterday I worked steadily on putting together some podcasts and today will continue on doing some more. I enjoy making them, when I am feeling good and things are working well. The trouble with me is, that once I figure out one thing, and it works good, my mind starts looking at wanting to try new things, or making what I have now better. Kind of been that way all my life. It does keep my mind active and alive, that’s for sure.

So with that I am off for a bite to eat that my lovely wife is making for me, and will then see what the day has in store. Life is always interesting, that’s for sure.
