Big Banks Cut Lending Rates
You know this statement proves how folks minds have been swayed into thinking that things like this is a good thing. When the banks cut rates it doesn’t help the working man one bit. Also doesn’t help the economy one bit either. Reason being if folks don’t have a job they shouldn’t be borrowing anyways. All that lowering the rates do is make money for the banks, simple as that. Camp Potatoes Hmmm Good
4 Potatoes, sliced
4 Onions, sliced
4 tb Butter or margarine
10 oz Cheddar cheese, sharp
Salt & pepper to taste
Grease a large square of heavy foil. Arrange sliced potatoes on foil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and cover with sliced onions. Add chunks of butter or margarine. Wrap and seal foil. Cook over hot coals on a grill until done (30 or 40 minutes depending on fire). Open foil and add thin-sliced cheddar strips. Cover again and grill for a couple of minutes, until cheddar melts. Only thing left to do is to sit back and enjoy!
The War In Afghanistan
Now here is an article in today’s paper that I agree with, well part of it. I think Harper did the right thing in saying what he did. First off there is no way we can win this war for Afghanistan. If they want a good country to live in they are going to have to get off their buts and do it their selves. We and other countries have helped them to much as it is, and the more we do the less they will do. That is fact. Anyone can see that if they take a minute to look. Some say why it took so long for Harper to see things. That’s a real dumb question, as he wasn’t the one that put the troops there to begin with. Takes time to make things right, so no way can folks get to blaming him. So take a look at the article for what it is worth.

The Goose Story
Next fall when you see geese heading south for the winter flying along in a “V” formation, you might be interested in knowing what science has discovered about why they fly that way. It has been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a “V” formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. People who share common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier, because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the draft and resistance of trying to go it alone, and quickly gets into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are going.
When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point. It pays to take turn doing hard jobs.
The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. An encouraging word goes a long way.
Finally, when a goose gets sick, or is wounded by a gun shot and falls out, two geese fall out of formation and follow him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead, then they launch out on their own or with another formation to catch up with the group. If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other like that.
RRSP Won’t Make You Wealthy
RRSP deadline midnight tonight, and a lot of people aren’t investing in them anymore.
Hmm, seems I have been tellin’ folks that they aren’t the best thing one can invest in for years. Also seems that folks might be starting to think my way too. My advice is to invest in yourself, pay off debts like your mortgage and credit cards. . If you do have some extra cash keep a bit on hand for emergencies and invest in land. Forget the RRSP. The only one that gets rich with them is the financial institutions not you. My Opinion Only

Well almost March and sure lookin’ forward to spring. Last night though the temperatures got down to minus 15 old scale. So yep, had to keep the old wood furnace stoked up around three times through the night. I don’t mind though as when one gets a wee bit older seems he or she is up through the night anyways. Well I only got one thing to say on this topic. In my eyes the prices for homes in Toronto are double the price as what they are really worth. Oh maybe one more tiny little thing. Troops In Iraq
You know for the last few years now folks have been steadily running down old George Bush. Thing is he is a pretty good guy. I would have to say he has helped this country we call Canada more than any other president going. Also put us on a path, that is safe to walk down. I know there is a lot that would have you think different but I would have to say their thinking is a bit clouded. They also have complained about all the troops in the Iraq. Well if Bush could have been in power any longer, he would have had them taken out in the near future just as the new President is doing, well thinking of doing. Time will tell on that subject.
Any ways for those that have complained for so long about old Bush. You now have a President that says he will pull a few troops out of Iraq and once done he will put a few thousand more into Afghanistan. My way of looking at it, nothing is getting done, just taking it from one hand and putting it in another. My Opinion Only. Here is the article for what it’s worth: Take a look.

Premier Dalton McGuinty is keeping a tight lid on just how deep Ontario will sink into red ink, despite alarming predictions that the deficit could climb as high as $18 billion.
I bet he is, LOL. Thing is, even when he does let the cat out of the bag, it won’t bug most folks here in Ontario, as the next election they will vote him right back in again. I also would bet the amount you hear isn’t the true amount. I bet it would be double if one really had a good look at it. Thing is, people here in Ontario can’t complain for one second the way the economy is going. Why? Well, you got what you wished for. Maybe not all of us though, there is still a few good o boys out there. My Opinion Only.
Good Old Celery

The reason celery is so low in calories is because it is so high in water content. Fresh, light green celery with glossy ribs is the best for eating. Celery is truly a healthy treat; all parts of the plant are edible and one cup contains only about twenty calories. There is no waste. It’s a great food and has a number of known health benefits. Here is a couple.
Celery can provide a sense of calmness. It can also help lower blood pressure. People with gout should be fans of celery because it lowers uric acid. Extensive blowing snow today.
A low pressure system currently located east of Georgian Bay tracks north eastward this morning and into Québec this afternoon. Cold air will continue to flood into the regions from the north.
Additional snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected along a line extending from Killarney to Kirkland Lake this morning and end later this morning.
Strong northerly winds gusting to 60 to 70 km/h will give extensive blowing snow. Bitterly cold temperatures combined with the snow and the wind will produce low visibilities. Wind chill values will be in the minus 30 to 35 range today.
Conditions will begin to improve near Lake Superior later this morning with the improvement spreading eastward to reach areas near the Québec border in the evening.
