Port Loring Weather & Information

For those that is still in fishing mode the old weather stick says the best times to be out there today will be between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  Should be quite good with the way things are shaping up.  Not sure how many more days I will be out there not a great lover of the cold.

News For Port Loring

Fishing times will stop at the end of the month and will enter hunting times.   That is if I am still here as it will be up to the new LSB Board to decide if they still want me to carry on.  Lots on my plate these days so have to see what develops on my end of things also.  This year my wife and I managed to do up around sixty jars of tomatoes and still have quite a few on the vines.  Might just get a few more if I don’t keep eating them as fast as the ripen.   Dill is ready to harvest so should have a couple quart jars of them also.  Second crop of onions is coming along with all of this years garlic hanging in the shed with the first crop of onions drying beside them.  Will be tasty this winter.  Weather station is working great these days and new sensor for wind speed is exceptionally precise.  Also forecast and the rest of the graphs have been right on the money also.  Well tea time here and will get back to my renovating of the inside of our home..  Been quite busy doing that for the past two months.  Whole new look.  Wife and i took it upon ourselves to do it all our selves and have to say it is quite an improvement.  Enjoy your day my friends.

I’ve been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I
knew you would not approve of her, because of all her piercings,
tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older
than I am.

But it’s not only the passion, Mum. She’s pregnant.

Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the
woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.

We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn’t really
hurt anyone. We’ll be growing it for ourselves, and trading it with the
other people in the commune, for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we’ll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS, so
Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!!

Don’t worry Mum, I’m 15, and I know how to take care of myself.
Someday, I’m sure we’ll be back to visit, so you can get to know your
many grandchildren.

Good morning.   Great looking morning out there. Sun is just a shining and on my part feeling great.  Good to be alive and days like this make it even that much greater.   Can’t wait to get started and see where the day brings us.  For those wanting to do some fishing today, the old weather stick says the best times to be out there will be from; 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  I am thinking it should be a good day.  Will give it a four star rating out of five.

Things have been picking up this month.  I go by the sales in our small store. Lots of folks moving around and have to say our books an store items are moving quite well.  Health is good and in reality what more can a fellow or gal ask for in life.  Plan on doing some fishing this weekend so that is just one more added feature that I love to do.  Enjoy your day my friends I know I am going to.  Oh and if your out on the lakes and happen to see me say hello.  Always open for a chat.

In The News Again Today….Honey Bees

For a long time now I have been reading reports of our diminishing honey bees.  I have also written a few articles relating to the subject.  The reason we are loosing our Honey Bees can all be said in just one word.  Humans, we are the cause,  Why? Simple.  Pollution, as Power Wind Mills, Cell Towers, Pesticides by the tons on our food crops and soil, air pollution with our cars, trucks and mowers, Pharmaceutical drugs flushed down the toilets by the millions after going through our bodies, which are pretty well all unneeded by the way, my opinion only of course, just to many to name.  No need for me to go any further, as if you can’t see the problem you got blinders on.  Don’t need no scientist to figure it out.

Not much to report here today.  Great day for getting outside and soaking up some sunshine.  Which I will do along with mowing our grass.  Seems always something to do around the old homestead.  But it is OK with me as it keeps me active and fit.  Great to be able to do it.  Enjoy your day my firends.

News For Port Loring

Not to much happening in and around town.  I have been busy renovating our old home.  Was going to buy new windows but instead decided to fix up the old ones.  Takes some work but when all said and done, money is saved and you have a better product than the new that is out there today.  On another note, here at our store my wife and I have decided to have a sale with 20% off every thing in the store and no tax for the month of August.  We would like to reduce inventory this summer.  So lots of good buys for folks on a lot of hand crafted items. For example, beautiful hand crafted drop leaf pine table with hand painted center.  Was only 450.00 now being sold for 360.00.  Native American Flutes all hand crafted, was $125.00 now $100.00.   A sale like this only comes along once in awhile my friends.  Enjoy your day my friends.

On behalf of my wife and myself I would  thank all those that attended my Book Signing at Gulliver’s in North Bay last Saturday.  Also thanks to those that couldn’t make it and called in their orders.  More people showed up than ever before.  Folks lined up at 12:30 PM and my wife and I never stopped signing books till after three.  Great day for sure and it opened my eyes to just how many folks are enjoying my stories.  Thanks folks… it’s folks like yourself that keeps me writing.

THE  ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT’S CALCULATION OF  AVAILABLE CPP IS THAT THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A  CPP CHEQUE!!!

WHERE  DID THAT MONEY GO?

Remember,  not only did you and I contribute to CPP but your employer did, too. It totalled 15% of your  income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over  your working life, that’s close to $220,500. Read that  again. Did you see where the Government paid in one  single penny?

We  are talking about the money you and your employer put  in a Government bank to insure you and I that we would  have a retirement cheque from the money we put in, not  the Government. Now they are calling the money we put  in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it  back. If you calculate the future invested value of  $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s  contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what  the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49  years of working you’d have  $892,919.98.

If  you took out only 3% per year, you’d receive  $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30  years (until you’re 95 if you retire at age 65) and  that’s with no interest paid on that final amount on  deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per  year, you’d have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per  month.

Another  thing with me…. I have two deceased husbands who  died in their 50’s, (one was 51 and the other one was  59 before one percent of their CPP could  be drawn). I worked all my life and am drawing 100% from my own CPP so I am receiving the maximum allowable payment per month. My two deceased husband’s CPP money will never  have one cent drawn from what they paid into the CPP plan all  their lives.

THE FOLKS IN OTTAWA HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement  my foot, I paid cash for my CPP!  Just because they borrowed the money for other  government spending, doesn’t make my benefits some  kind of charity or  handout!!

Remember  Senator’s benefits? — free health-care,  outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays,  three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days.  Now that’s welfare, and they have the nerve to call my  CPP retirement payments entitlements?

We’re  “broke” and the government can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans,  Orphans, or Homeless. Yet in the past few years we  have provided aid to Haiti , Chile, Turkey, Pakistan, etc., etc., etc.  Literally,  BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!! And they can’t help our own  citizens !

Our  retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ (CPP and OAS)   receive no additional federal aid nor do they get any  financial breaks, while our government and religious  organizations pour hundreds of billions of $$$ and  tons of food to foreign  countries!

They  call CPP an entitlement even  though most of us have been paying for it all our  working lives, and now, when it’s time for us to  collect, the government is running out of money. Why  did the government borrow from it in the first place?  It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the  general  fund.

News For Port Loring

Not to much to report here this morning.  I did get out with a friend of mine to do a bit of fishing yesterday.  Fished steady all day but only got one Bass.  Weighed in though at five pounds so had some nice eating there for sure.  Three meals to be exact.  Was very calm no movement of water at all.  Winds were coming in from the East and got very warm. Put all them things together and you got a poor day for fishing.  Had to work at it to get the one.  But no matter just being out there in Nature makes it all worth while let me tell ya.  Mosquitoes are slowing down some which is OK by me.  Took a couple pictures of yesterdays Catch click picture to enlarge.  Enjoy your day.  fish

Took a drive to town yesterday and have to say it is a busy place.  North Bay that is.  Lots of folks out and about and most carrying packages or pushing shopping carts.  So good sign that folks are spending money which makes for a good economy.  I am thinking it will be a good year business wise here in Port Loring.   Our small store has kept us busy now for the last month or so.  Kind of just the opposite of last year.  Bass season opens this Saturday.  Limits are 2 for C License 6 for Sports License.  Myself I get to fish for free being over 65 which has been earned over the years.  Should be a lot more added things that are free for us seniors relating to nature. It would cut down on health issues over 50%.  Will the powers to be listen?  Not likely.   Enjoy your day my friends.

News For Port Loring & District

Lots being done this year at the Local Services Board.  I feel we at the Board have accomplished a great deal with getting our 911 system together which will be of great benefit to our community in the coming years.  For all the information click here and read the minutes of our meetings. http://www.loringlsb.ca/administration/meetings/    Last nights minutes will be out in the next few days. The Farmers Market will be moving to our Activity Center this year also another must to visit.  I will add the dates and times tomorrow morning.  Also our Library minutes are now an added feature for those that might be interested in what is happening there.  I would also like to mention my new book is finally out for sale at our store and the General Store here in Loring. Price is $19.95 no tax as there is no tax on books.  Also they are available at Gulliver’s Quality Books and Toys in North Bay. No…. it isn’t closing as of yet, there is things in the works to keep it open.  Great news huh???  They are also available at Northern Meat Packers in Trout Creek.  Great book and this time round a special bit of wisdom;  at the bottom of each story.  A must see at the very least.  Also our docks have been installed down on Wilson Lake.  This year things have been greatly improved with boat docking for overnighters.  Along with renting a spot for the season if needed.  Great for those coming in off the lakes and river system to do get gas or maybe just go for an ice cream cone and browse our gift shops here in town.  Prices will be collected by Mike Buchanan.  A sign will be added with phone number of where to get these special features, shortly.   More to come in the coming days!!!  Have a great day.

Cholesterol Treatments

The use of high potency versions of cholesterol lowering drugs called statins may increase a person’s risk of developing kidney failure, a new study suggests.

This article explains a bit of what these drugs can do to a person.  I believe there is no such thing as bad cholesterol.  Our body needs both good and so called bad to survive. The drugs they use today to treat cholesterol in my eyes shouldn’t be taken.  To each their own though, but before you do decide to go on these drugs.  Why not ask others that are taking these drugs how they are feeling since they started taking them. I have and every one that I have talked to has had some problem, be it, muscle problems, Joints to many to name. Now kidney problems. I am sure there are many more that haven’t surfaced yet.  Best thing one could do is to change your lifestyle,   Get good nutrition into your body and lots of exercise with lots of sunshine thrown in for good measure. I wouldn’t hesitate to bet that if every one did that, most illnesses and disease would cease to exist.
