Job Cuts In Goverment, Tony Clement Good Man At The Reigns For A Change

Hundreds of Environment Canada jobs to be cut.

Well all I can say is, way to go Tony it is a long time coming.  Folks today have to remember government jobs does not make a health economy.  It drains the economy, as the working man has to pay them. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to relalize that,  but there is lots out there that would beg to differ. Never ceases to amaze me with their thinking.  My opinion only.  Again; way to go Tony keep up the good work.

Pesticides Here In Canada & The USA

For years now I have written on subjects relating to my life growing up in a country setting.  The joys, hardships, all kinds of things, that, well-made a fellow feel good.   Any ways, here is what I would like you, the readers to take a look at, my feelings on things that is going wrong here in Canada, but not only here, in the USA too.  I would like to say a few words on what is happening here in our world today relating to our Honey Bees, Health, and the Food we eat.
First off growing up on a dairy farm, then moving on to a fruit farm I have seen and witnessed a lot of happenings relating to the use of pesticides in our country.  I won’t get into a major discussion here, but I would like to touch on a few items.
First off, the Honey Bees in my eyes are dying because of the systemic pesticides they are using.  A systemic pesticide moves inside a plant upward  and outward in other words from the roots to the flower on top, which in turn poisons pollen and nectar in the flowers, which in turn insects ingest and get covered with the pesticides while feeding on the plants,  and after a short time they then start to slowly die.  This is the reason we are seeing the bees disappearing from their hives.  They in reality aren’t disappearing, they are dying before they get back to their hives.  Simple as that and for the life of me I can not see why folks have not been able to pick up on this.  If I was to guess  I would say that we are being dictated to by the huge corporations that these chemicals are safe.  They are not safe at all.
Why are more folks getting cancer than ever before, along with a lot of other diseases.  Again it’s right there in front of you, it’s all the
Poisons that is in our food.  There is much more happening with the GMO seeds genetically-modified (GM) crops — and the pesticides and herbicides that accompany them, and once they have been unleashed I am afraid the outcome will cause great harm to us everything living on this planet.
Folks want that magic pill to cure everything of a sliver, to the worst of all diseases.  It isn’t going to happen, and the proof is out there, just a lot choose not to see what is right in front of them.  I have been trying to tell folks for years now of what is happening, speaking at different places, writing articles in papers, on television, radio and magazines.  Has it helped, well in some ways yes and in some no.
Today folks minds are easily swayed into believing in all kinds of
things, and unfortunately most isn’t is good for us.
Just the other day I went for a drive up Highway 522 heading west to Highway 69 and what do I see?  All along the side of the road plants all dead.  Spraying took place killing everything in site.  Now I see in the paper they are planning to spray selective herbicides around Nipissing &District to control the undergrowth.  Selective herbicides kill specific plants leaving others unharmed.   Sounds impressive but it is not.
First off in my eyes there is no reason on earth that this should be done.  Don’t they realize that eventually this herbicide will get into our lakes, streams and eventually into our drinking water.  Not to forget about all the critters and insects that eat these plants that they are going to kill or make darn sick, including ourselves.
To do what they are doing doesn’t make sense to say the least and if we don’t soon stand up for what is right, we will all pay dearly in the coming years.  It is happening now and in the future it will get worse, if we don’t do something, now.
Cancer will expand and if let go we will all perish.  I know some would
say I am a skeptic.  I am not though, I am just an old farmer and columnist that grew up, through the best of times and the worst of times and have seen it all, to date anyways.
Well I have had my say, I wish I could do more, but it seems I am limited, but I will keep on talking to folks and doing what I can, hoping maybe, just maybe a few of you will take up the stand too.
One last thing.  Here is one of many visions that came to me one night while sleeping.

“The Important Things In Life,  Are  Unfortunately Never Seen By Most.”

Our Monarch Butterflies & GMO Food

For years folks have enjoyed the fluttering wings of the Monarch butterfly gracefully spreading its joy around the world, at no cost to us; pollinating crops with out ever complaining, not even once.  Now though they are on the decline slowly dying  a pain full death.  The Monarchs love milk weed plants as it needs them to reproduce and is the only plant that their young can feed on. Today though the pesticides in GM modified plants are spreading to the milkweed plants and killing them, in turn the Monarchs are slowly dying and if left to continue they will soon all be gone.  What a shame, a small lovely critter that dedicates its life to helping us now being destroyed by the big money hungry companies of the world today.  My opinion only.

Spraying Herbicides Across Nippising and Surrounding Areas.

You know, things like this sure stick in my craw.  When so many folks are getting sick these days with all the poision’s that is on and in our food it seems now that this isn’t enough, as now they have to go out and spray areas across Nippising with herbisides.  Meaning it is a herbicide, commonly known as a weedkiller, is a type of pesticide used to kill unwanted plants.  Now think about this for a second.  For the sake of a few unwanted plants they will cover different areas by plane which will kill more than what is wanted to be sure and then eventually get into our  ground water and yes we drink it.  Also what about all those folks that like to deal with nature at its source.  Making their own medicines and things like that.  All plants will be covered with this herbicide so now it isn’t safe for anyone to go collecting for their medicine cabinet or for that matter items they enjoy eating.  Crazy is my way of thinking and it should be stopped.   But will that happen, not likely, as folks today don’t seem to mind. They rely on modern technology and honestly believe that all these pesticides and things are ok to use and to eat.  Along with that, the huge corporations that make these chemicals spend millions  of dollars a year advertising how good it is and we couldn’t survive with out it.  They have in my mind corrupted folks minds and in doing so we will all pay dearly, or should say we are already paying dearly.  Well, I had my say, as usual my opinion only.  Click Article below to enlarge so you can read it.  Oh and one last thing.  Another thing that really got me going was all the plants and things they have sprayed along Highway 522 coming in from Highway 69.  Looks like a dead zone out there now.  For the sake of spending a few extra dollars and just cutting it down every so many years now they cover the land with herbicides, probably Roundup.  Eventually this too will get into our lakes, streams, and drinking water, as most are all on wells.  Doesn’t seem to matter though, they keep on doing it.  I often wonder who comes up with this crazy thinking.  For sure they don’t have a home or well right next to where they are spraying you can bet on that.  If they do, well…..lets just say, that would be par for the course and explain a lot.  Again Click Article to enlarge.

How It Really Was Like, Many Years Ago

In the line at the store, the cashier told an older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment.
The woman apologized to him and explained, “We didn’t have the green thing back in my day.”

The clerk responded, “That’s our problem today.  Your generation did not care enough to save our environment.”
He was right — our generation didn’t have the green thing in its day.
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over.  So they really were recycled.
But we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.
We walked up stairs, because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
But she was right. We didn’t have the green thing in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throw-away kind.  We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts — wind and solar power really did dry the clothes.  Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that old lady is right; we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana.

In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us.

When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power.  We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
But she’s right; we didn’t have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water.

We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn’t have the green thing back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service.

We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances.  And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.
But isn’t it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the green thing back then?

Hungary destroys all GMO maize fields

Some 400 hectares of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds have been destroyed throughout Hungary deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar said. The GMO maize has been ploughed under, said Lajos Bognar, but pollen has not spread from the maize, he added. Unlike several EU members, GMO seeds are banned in Hungary.

Another country that has seen the light.  Hope more will come on board in the near future.

Milk GMO Food What’s Next

A glass of milk can contain a cocktail of up to 20 painkillers, antibiotics and growth hormones, scientists have shown.

Using a highly sensitive test, they found a host of chemicals used to treat illnesses in animals and people in samples of cow, goat and human breast milk.

Just what I been saying now for the past twenty years.  We are what we eat.   That is why so many of us are getting sick, as what they feed the cattle, chickens, everything, then we eat them and all them poisons go into our body.   Simple process but very deadly over time.  And now with with this GMO food they are putting on the market, with more to come as they are doing the same with nature.  We keep playing with nature and changing it’s DNA and things like that, we are looking at a very serious problem let me tell you.  As it stands plants and things are having a hard enough time as it is. You start playing around with their genetic being they won’t know what to do and I wouldn’t hesitate in saying they could be the next superior race, a whole mess of plants loaded with drugs.  Sounds far fetched?  Well it isn’t, it is already happening with our wheat and other things they have tampered with. They have injected it with all kinds of things, loaded it with pesticides.    You are the only ones that can stop this, so speak out when some one mentions GMO food.  The more that are against it the better the chance we have in straightening things out.  My Opinion Only.

More On GMO Seeds In The News Today

Interesting article below.  Shows just what will happen if and when they keep promoting these GMO Seeds across the country.  I am telling you folks this is not a good thing.  They are trying to do to the plants now exactly what they have done to us humans.

Thanks to a recent admission by the USDA that it does not have the regulatory framework to even regulate GMOs, the world of biotech is set to unleash a tidal wave of genetically modified seed upon us. The upshot of all this is not merely the astonishing lack of regulation now being admitted by the USDA (which always sided with the biotech industry anyway, so what’s new?), but the cause-and-effect results we may soon see. We could be looking at a wave of superweeds spreading across America.

These superweeds will be the baddest, toughest and most chemically-resistant weeds our world has ever seen. They develop as mutant derivatives of the mass spraying of RoundUp chemicals across lawns. In much the same way that superbugs develop in the presence of widespread antibiotics abuse, superweeds, develop in the presence of widespread glyphosate abuse (http://www.businessinsider.com/gene…).

And of course once these superweeds take over America’s sidewalks, driveways and lawns, there will be cries for newer, stronger chemical products to kill those superweeds, too. And who will come to the rescue? Monsanto, of course… the very same company that produces RoundUp and thereby contributed to the problem in the first place.

Milk Weed is Out In Blossom Here In Port Loring

Milk weed has been around for years and has a wide range of uses if one chooses to go natural. For one thing the Monarch butterflies just love them and if your interested having them near or around your home this is the plant or herb some call them, to plant.  One great use is the white  milk that comes from them when broken, removes warts, moles and things like that.  Great plant for sure.  Eating them are not recommended any more, as more evidence has proved them not safe to eat.  Myself I think they taste bitter and best left alone on the eating side.  They sure do smell nice when out in bloom though,  which they are now here in Port Loring.  So make sure when you are passing by one or two, to take a second and give them a smell.  You will be glad you did. It’s Blossom Time For The Basswood Trees Here In Port Loring

Well folks it is blossom time for the Basswood trees here in our area in Port Loring Ontario.  Or some would call them Linden trees.  Our tree out back is loaded this year so will be out harvesting the blossoms and the two long straight leaves that grows around the blossoms. There is no better cold medicine in the world than these little feller’s and in my mind every one that has a tree near by should be doing as I am.  You can not miss them as you can smell them a mile away, sweet just to nice to put into words.  Thought I would let you know, this is the time to get out there before they fall to the ground. The small narrow leaves are for fever they promote sweat which gets rid of the fever. The blossoms are for the cold itself or as my wife calls the yukies.  I am not just saying this it is true, tested for years in all countries in the world. Taken at first signs of a cold or flu one will never have to deal with one.    Enjoy.
