Canada Is Slowly Loosing Everything That Our Forefathers Worked So Hard For.

Petro China takes $1.9-billion stake in oil sands, a 60% working interest.  My Opinion On This Topic.  Well Take A Look.

Well, here we go again, another piece of Canada gone for the long haul.   You know I for the life of me I can’t see why the Powers That Be can’t see what these off shore countries are doing and going to do to our country we call Canada.  Actually I can, it all boils down to money, not what is good for us.  Canada is pretty well owned now by other countries.  They have controlling interest in so many things that one can’t call it ours anymore and it is getting worse day after day.  Thing is folks it’s like farming.  The Powers That Be got rid of the farmers, like so many other business on purpose.  Reason being they can’t make any money if we grow or do things on our own.  In other words they don’t want us to be self efficient We could have been but it’s to late now.  What a shame, a country like Canada, now depending on other countries for food, clothes,  you name it.  Once these countries get a foot hold there is no stopping them.  At first it seems like they are giving you the shirt of their back, but there not, it’s only a cover up.  Then once they have controlling power, look out.  It’s happening now and will steadily get worse.   My Opinion Only.

Genetically Modified Seed Corn Now In The Food Chain

Boy these folks that do these things sure must think a lot of us humans are just plain dumb. Hmm … Thing is anyone in their right mind should be able to see exactly what has been happening.  And what would that be?  Simple, they are just using us for Ginny pigs and what better way than to just say.  Oh darn! We shipped the wrong product, sorry. Take a look at this article.

A Swiss company accidentally sold unapproved genetically modified seed corn in the US for four years. The mistake resulted in about 133 million kilograms of the corn making its way into the food chain.

Thing is folks, through my eyes no genetically modified anything is good for you, simple as that.  Just one more thing to add to the extinction of humans as we now know them.   My Opinion Only.

If You Don’t Take Care Of Your Body, The Alternative Isn’t Nice.

You know I have found that most folks look after their car more than they do their own body these days.  They make sure they faithfully change the oil and things, but when it comes to themselves, they throw anything into it.  I know it’s hard, as most folks today work 24-7, and when they get home at night or a weekend off, they just don’t feel like cooking. But thing is folks, you are going to have to make time, either that or get very sick.  Eating right in my eyes is about the best investment you can do in life and it’s never too late to start.  Take all the toxins and heavy metals, like aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and uranium, just to name a few that finds their way into one’s body every day.  Not to forget all the pesticides and things the Powers That Be say isn’t going to hurt you, that is sprayed on your lawns, fruit and veggies.  Man, it’s sure no wonder why folks are getting sicker and sicker and sicker these days.  So … what should one do?? Well for one, you should be taking the time to cook your own.  Buy only food that is grown organic and make darn sure you also know where it comes from. Avoid all off shore things, or most, as their regulations are quite different from ours.  For myself I grow my own, but if I do buy from other places it will only be from the USA.  Reason being the earth, water and things they have there, are the closest things we have to our own here in Canada.  A few items one should be eating to rid your body of things that are hurting you, are, onions, tomatoes, broccoli, tomatoes, I said tomatoes twice on purpose, and the best I saved for last.  Good old Garlic, raw, grown here in Canada, or in your own garden.  There is nothing better. Garlic contains the antioxidant allicin, which is formed from alliin and allinase when the cloves are crushed. Garlic helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol while cleansing the liver. Offering health benefits when consumed in raw versus cooked or aged, Garlic has antiviral, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties.  Doctors, Powers That Be, and Pharmaceutical companies aren’t the answer for good health, you are. So there you go, a bit of advice that I recommend, if you don’t, well the alternative isn’t good.

My Thoughts On The Atheist

I sure am asked some interesting questions these days.  This one comes from a lady in Northern Ontario, asking me my views on Atheism.  Well this here pretty well explains my thoughts on the subject.

Atheist are widely believed to not believe in anything, this is a popular misconception. Atheist usually use logical thinking and philosophy and research to find what they think to be the most reasonable theory and/or idea for the world around them until a more sensible idea comes along, instead of faith and belief like most religious party’s do.

Unlike people who are religious, most atheists are not atheist because they were taught it at a young age, fear, closed mindedness, or lack of the ability to ask why. But more because they can simply think on their own. Atheist prefer to go on reasonable evidence instead of merely faith.

Most Christians stereotype atheist as people who are afraid of religion and/or religious people and that they are afraid to speak about religion, But in fact atheists are more comfortable about what they are than anybody of religious faith and are also extremely more open to talking about religion.

Atheists are usually thought to hate god, but nobody can hate something they do not believe to be true.

Well that’s the best I can come up with, other than, isn’t it amazing that so many folks figure religion is right and the atheist is wrong. Its human nature to be like this, but don’t worry though, in the future we will all find out the TRUTH.  My Opinion Only

Firewood Poem

I know it’s a touch early but here is a bit on what wood is good for burning and an easy way to remember.  Take A Look

Beechwood fires are bright and clear
If the logs are kept a year,
Chestnut’s only good they say,
If for logs ’tis laid away.
Make a fire of Elder tree,
Death within your house will be;
But ash new or ash old,
Is fit for a queen with crown of gold.

Birch and fir logs burn too fast
Blaze up bright and do not last,
it is by the Irish said
Hawthorn bakes the sweetest bread.
Elm wood burns like churchyard mould,
Elm the very flames are cold
But Ash green or Ash brown
Is fit for a queen with golden crown.

Poplar gives a bitter smoke,
Fills your eyes and makes you choke,
Apple wood will scent your room
Pear wood smells like flowers in bloom
Oaken logs, if dry and old
keep away the winter’s cold
But Ash wet or Ash dry
A king shall warm his slippers by.

Corn Silk For Good Health

Well with summer on the way, here is another healthy item that most just throw in the garbage.  For most parts, folks just eat the corn, but through my eyes the corn silk is even better for you, especially for anyone with a bladder, kidney, prostate, yeast, kidney stones or urinary problem.  Yep Good Old Corn Silk and so easy to come by this time of year too.  You can even dry some and make a tea out of it, cut it up and sprinkle it over a salad. I do both, but I also enjoy chewing on it when it’s real tender, better than any gum out there.  Also dry some on the counter and put in paper bag for winter, never know when a health problem might arise.  But don’t wait for a problem to arise, have a cup or two once a week, preventative maintenance is the best way to go.

Corn Silk Tea
2 cups of boiling water
2 tablespoons fresh or dried corn silk

Sweeten to taste, that’s all there is to it.  Enjoy the summer!

Folks Are Literaly Dying Because They Won’t Open Their Eyes

You know over the years of watching ones behavior patterns  there is one  thing that I have noticed.  Smart people are literally dying of diseases that are easily prevented by just eating right.  Some doctors are dying from cancer who takes chemotherapy over vitamin D supplements.  Others are literally killing themselves with junk foods which causes diabetes.  Lawyers, Judges Physicist’s, some of the so called smartest folks in the world completely ignore the basics of health.

So how come so many smart people are unaware of good healty eating? That vitamin D prevents cancer and influenza. That aspartame kills your brain cells. That processed meat (beef jerky, bacon, sausage, pepperoni) contains cancer-causing coloring chemicals designed to make the meat look rosy fresh.

Well the answer is, the agriculture companies depend on nutritional ignorance in order to keep selling their processed ingredients to food companies, which then turn around and sell those nutritionally-depleted products to consumers. Media companies depend on the advertising revenues from the promotion of junk foods and junk beverages, and drug companies depend on the revenues from all the diseases caused by the widespread consumption of all those products.

So the fix is that folks have to become aware of what is going on around them.  They have to start seeking out good  foods and not listening to what the so called Powers That Be is telling them.  They have to as I keep on saying: Take back the reins, and take the blinders off.  You either do it or you die and right now a lot are doing just that.  Dying.  What shame.  My Opinion Only. Literally

Acid Drugs & What They Do

For over  twenty five years the doctors of today have said I need to be taking acid drugs like Prevacid.   I started taking tagamet years ago then changing as time went by.  Thing is I never got better, only worse.  Then one day last fall I came upon a remedy from an old native friend of mine and decided to try it. Well low and behold I got better and I am now not on any medicine or should say prescription drugs at all.  I did have some withdrawals going off the prevacid but in time that stopped too. I was determined to stay off them and today no more acid, aches and pains, nothing. I know now if I would have stayed on the med I probably might not be here in another few years, as to many things were beginning to happen to me.  Strange how some medicine of today can actually make a fellow or gal worse.  One has to get to know their body, then do the research and correct the problems, for most parts anyways. Today this article is out in the news, take a look.

Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid, Aciphex. These and a dozen more drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have quickly become superstars of Big Pharma. As recently reported by US News and World Report, last year people worldwide shelled out some $ 25.6 billion for these drugs that are supposed to alleviate heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Although hailed by most doctors as safe, reports have started cropping up that side effects may include everything from dizziness to osteoporosis, increased risk of heart attacks, pneumonia, and lots more.

Within two weeks after withdrawal from treatment, they experience even worse heartburn, regurgitation and other GERD symptoms than ever — so they have to go right back on the expensive PPI drug therapy.

Thing is there is ways of staying off it and correcting the problem with acid coming back naturally and one should be looking into them even before they stop taking the PPIs.  For myself I could never be happier that I got off them and able to stay off them. It’s been 8 months now and no relapse at all.  After twenty some years too, amazing.  Well thought I would share with you folks as I know what it’s like to have this problem and one shouldn’t have to suffer this way.  My Opinion Only

A Few Things You Can Eat For Those That Are Staring At A Computer All Day At Work

If you feel that you are suffering from eye strain, take a minute to splash your eyes with cold water. Not only will this feel great, it will boost blood supply to your eye muscles, making them feel refreshed. For best eye health, be sure your diet contains sources of Vitamin A. Of all the vitamins, vitamin A is one of the most wonderful for your eyes.  A sample of foods rich in this vitamin are lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, carrots and cabbageVegetables are great! Not to mention how nice they look in your kitchen sitting on the counter! Snack on them throughout your day. Take them to work. No reason for you not to get what is needed, especially this time of year, as fresh home grown veggies are in abundance right now.  Try and buy organic, but still wash thoroughly before eating.  Some say, hey, my eyes are ok, no problem. I say, why wait till you do have problems.  Preventative maintenance is the answer.

New Addition For Equipment & Things

Took a picture of a lean-to that I am adding to the back of our store.  Need a bit more storage for my mowers and things and now can drive the riding mower right in along with the snow-blower come winter. Will be nice to have it so near the house, as my old spot was down over the hill and we are thinking of taking it down, before it falls down.  So thought I would share. Will take another as things get done.  Talk Soon.

Garden Update Here In Port Loring Ontario

Well looks like we are in for some warmer sunnier weather in the coming weeks.  Sure needed too if we want to get any tomatoes and things.  Got lots on my vines just small and not turning red yet. But that all will change if we get a few days of sunshine and warmth.  Zucchini is looking good and been eating it for the past two weeks now. Got to say they sure are tasty too.   Cucumbers are just starting, so think they will be ok too just need a few week of growing season to get them to size.   Cauliflower is coming along, picked one head yesterday for supper.  I like it raw with home made garlic dip.  Good for ya too.  Brussels Sprouts are starting to take form, but they are late anyways, so I am thinking they will be ok also.  Carrots are real good this year, we been eating them to for the past week.  Real tasty.  Herbs also are growing real well this year in-spite of the wet, cool, sunless, weather.  Beans it seems is going to be down from last year.  Might have to move my location next year too.  But the word is that beans is not so good anywhere this year.  But that can change. Mine are out in blossom now, so still lots of time.  Shouldn’t  jump the gun with a prediction I guess, as old Mother Nature has a way of doing things all on her own.  Strawberries are over, but had a real good crop this year. Got a bunch in the freezer and have made up some nice jam already, and, gave our boys a couple jars for a taste. More jam will come later.  Rasberries are on now and have been  picking a bowl a night.  I don’t have to many plants, I got rid of my old ones and planted some thornless ones.  Got to say they sure are nice and sweet. Real old variety but strong and they don’t cross to easily with the wild ones, which grows in abundance around my home here, which isn’t a good thing.   They grow up to around six feet tall these ones.  Nice to pick too, being thornless.   Well guess that’s it for now on the garden update.  All and all not a bad year so far.  Even the store is going ok now.  Was  a bit slow in the beginning, but picking up now. The last few days  cars were lined up in the driveway.  So……………………….not complaining in that department.  Talk Soon

Tomatoes For Heart Disease,Cancer,The List Goes On

For a long time now here on my Blog, I have been letting folks know the benefits on eating healthy foods. Like Broccoli and Tomatoes for the prevention of Cancer.   Scientists now  say, that a natural ingredient  in tomatoes, taken daily, can stave off heart disease, strokes and lower Cholesterol immensely.  On the cholesterol part, I don’t believe there is such a thing as bad cholesterol, I just think it’s a ploy to make billions of dollars, but that is my thinking alone. So there you have it, just one more reason to pick up a copy of my new gardening book called,  Join Me In The Garden” and get to planting your own veggies.  The book though doesn’t just stop there, as there is all kinds of other things through out it. Like how to make your own medicines out of plants, recipes, even a few good old time stories that came my way over the years, and, well just to many to name.  Have a great day and get out there and make yourself a fresh tomato sandwich for lunch.  Home made bread preferably. Good Old Baking Soda To The Rescue

Good Morning. Here is another item that I would like to tell you about  good old baking soda. For years now folks have been using it in their bread and baking not knowing how good it really is.  The thing today though is most folks don’t do any baking anymore.  At any rate, years ago my old Dad and Grandfather took a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water once a day.  When asked what they took it for, they said keeps the old kidneys up and running nicely.  Now take a look at this article.

A recent study discovered a new use for common household baking soda. The Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (JASN) reported that a daily dose of baking soda could prevent kidney damage and chronic kidney disease…

Hmm … Kind of makes a fellow or gal think, doesn’t it. Another bit of old time advice, that has been lost in our transition to a better life.  Or … what the Powers That Be, would like you to believe is a good thing.  My Opinion Only

Bug Spray & Other Things

Now this article below is one that almost verifies what I have been trying to tell folks for years, concerning the things that they spray and rub on their skin. I for one along with all my family, have never put it on our skin and never will.  It is just common sense that these chemicals are not good for you.  Never ceases to amaze me though, of how easily folks are fooled in toady’s world.  They just take for granted that what ever the Powers That Be tell them is the truth.  Thing is folks, you are the only ones that can look after your own body.  You are the one at the helm and the quicker you can take back the reins the better off you will be .  Also, take the blinders off and do the research on pretty well everything today.  Even from my Blog.  I am not pretending to be no expert or no- it- all by no means.  All that I  am asking of folks, is to sit back, take a look around and keep an open mind, and remember: “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.”   My Opinion Only

Now take a look, fresh off the press:

The active ingredient in many insect repellents, deet, has been found to be toxic to the central nervous system. Researchers say that more investigations are urgently needed to confirm or dismiss any potential neurotoxicity to humans, especially when deet-based repellents are used in combination with other neurotoxic insecticides.

Vincent Corbel from the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement in Montpellier, and Bruno Lapied from the University of Angers, France, led a team of researchers who investigated the mode of action and toxicity of deet (N,N-Diethyl-3-methylbenzamide). Corbel said, “We’ve found that deet is not simply a behavior-modifying chemical but also inhibits the activity of a key central nervous system enzyme, acetycholinesterase, in both insects and mammals”.

Discovered in 1953, deet is still the most common ingredient in insect repellent preparations. It is effective against a broad spectrum of medically important pests, including mosquitoes. Despite its widespread use, controversies remain concerning both the identification of its target sites at the molecular level and its mechanism of action in insects. In a series of experiments, Corbel and his colleagues found that deet inhibits the acetylcholinesterase enzyme – the same mode of action used by organophosphate and carbamate insecticides.

These insecticides are often used in combination with deet, and the researchers also found that deet interacts with carbamate insecticides to increase their toxicity. Corbel concludes, “These findings question the safety of deet, particularly in combination with other chemicals, and they highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to the development of safer insect repellents for use in public health”

Now, if you keep putting these things on your skin, well … plain and simple, you are not thinking clearly and why is that?  Simple, you have been putting to many chemicals on and into your body, it’s effecting your mind.

Summer Health Tips

The more raw vegetables you can eat the better, and this is the time to do that as the markets are full of home grown produce.  My favourite is home grown tomato sandwiches on home made bread, with home grown broccoli and dip.  Pretty tasty and so good for ya.  Eat them now and build up your immunity to fight diseases all winter long.  Better than any flu shot.

One Great Plant: Mullein

Now here is a wild plant that I have used to make medicine from for years now. It is real easy to grow, first year just leaves, then the tall stalk starts on the second year along with yellow flowers.  It is called Mullein. The leaves and yellow flowers are what I use the most.  For ear aches there is nothing better using the flower petals.  One has to remember though, to make sure your ear drum isn’t perforated, if so don’t use it.  Also, best to have a doc take a look just to make sure.  But if the doc says it isn’t perforated and you want to go natural, well this is the fix. The leaves are great for sore joints and also good for cold sores.

Mullein leaves, stems, and most of the floral parts are covered with short thin bristles that are extreme irritants to the human respiratory tract and conjunctiva. Trying to eat the leaves is really unpleasant ( some insects and perhaps slugs can manage to deal with the little bristles) but they aren’t  good for us humans. For teas and things, these hairs are best strained or filtered. For  therapeutic use, mullein leaves (and stems) should be dried to crispness which I do by laying them out on the picnic table for two days in the sun. I then bring them inside crushing them up and putting them into a masonry jar.  I then cover with extra virgin olive oil and let sit on the counter for two weeks, stirring every other day. Then strain and use externally.  Thing one has to remember though, is to try a small spot on say your wrist and if you don’t get itchy or red you’re in business.  With all herbal medicine remember, don’t use for more than six weeks in a row.  At least that is what I found to be the safest way of dealing with wild plants. Do the research and enjoy! Nothing is better than Mother Nature for curing what ails ya.

No Excuse For Ignorance When It Comes To Natural Medicine

Words That Kind Of Makes A Fellow Or Gal Think.

If you stay informed, you will stay alive!

The biggest killer of people in the next great crisis will be, without question, ignorance of natural medicine. Those who don’t know about these natural cures will literally die of ignorance,  those who understand the incredible healing power of Mother Nature’s Medicine will be far better off.

It’s not only about surviving though it‘s also about being self efficient. When you use Mother Natures medicine to boost your immune system and your body, you then no longer depend on doctors, hospitals and conventional medicine to provide you with medicine. In other words you can do it yourself with the help of natural medicine, simple as that.  What better way for you to have on hand what Mother Nature has to offer sitting in your cupboard.  Bottom line is, you remain independent and self-reliant.

It is this self-reliance that scares the powers that be, who run our world. The last thing they want is us folks taking charge of our own health and refusing to function as slaves to big corporations. My Opinion Only
