People Are Wising Up.

Well been hearing a bit these days on how folks are slowly taking off the blinders and realising how bad these flu shots are and actually over 50% of the people through out the US and UK and hopefully here in Canada, are not going to be getting it any-more. Guess all these Blogs of mine and others are starting to make folks open their eyes a bit Actually the only one it is good for is the the Pharmaceutical Companies as they make Billions. Makes my day when at the very least folks are opening their eyes and taking a real look at what is happening in this old world. Have a great Thanksgiving. My Opinion Only

Drinking Water Notice For Port Loring Ontario.

To the guy who tried to mug my girlfriend and me last night.

Now here is a fellow after my own heart, makes my day when I hear about guys like this.   Take a look, figured it would give you an insight on how I feel about things, as I think this fellow did exactly what I would have done if the laws were the same as the good old US of A.  Talk Soon.

To the guy who tried to mug me in down town the night before last.

Date: 05-27-09, 1:43 A. M. EST.

I was the guy wearing the black Burberry Jacket that you demanded that I

hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on my girlfriend, threatening our lives…
You also asked for my girlfriend’s purse and earrings.
I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.
First, I’d like to apologize for your embarrassment when I drew my pistol after

you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, but I was wearing the jacket

for a reason.
My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 A CP pistol for

my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening.
Obviously, you agree that it was a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your

head wasn’t it?
I know it probably wasn’t fun walking back to wherever you’d come from bare

footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That

prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].

After I called your mother, or “Momma” as you had her listed in your cell,

I explained the entire episode of what you’d done. Then I went and filled

up my gas tank as well as four other people’s in the gas station on your

credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was

extremely grateful!
I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go’s, along with

all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]
I then threw your wallet into the big pink “pimp mobile” that was parked

at the curb… after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the

entire driver’s side of the car.
Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone.
Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for

a little over a day now, so what’s going on with that?

Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA’s office

and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while

he traced your number etc.).
In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you…but I feel this type

of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime.

I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing

issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and

perhaps reconsider the career path you’ve chosen to pursue in life.

Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.
Have a good day!
Thoughtfully yours,
Alex

Ticket For Smoking In Rig, What Is This Country Coming To???

The reason I got out of the farming business a few years ago, as many others, was because of all the rules and new regulations that these so called Powers That Be was bringing into effect. They were just killing us small time farmers of 100 acres or more.  No one can be put to blame more, than them, when it comes to the downfall of our farms here in Ontario and the rest of Canada today.  But this article just goes to prove what I am saying.  Take A Look.

The burning question about precisely where a person can smoke these days is flaring up again in Ontario, where a 48-year-old trucker faces a $305 fine for lighting up on the job: while driving his big rig along Canada’s busiest highway.

The man, who hails from London, Ont., was headed for Windsor when he was pulled over Wednesday along Highway 401 and given a ticket under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

I gotta” tell ya, we all know that smoking isn’t to great for a fellows health or others, but to stop a fellow driving his rig along the HWY, and giving him a ticket for smoking, is just plain down right dumb.  Man, this officer sure must be wanting to make a name for himself, that’s all I can say. These new rookies coming up the tube sure have some growing up to do that’s all I can say.  But…………….. this is only one of many, and today in Canada, well let’s just say.  It’s Par for the course. What a country Canada is becoming, makes me just shake my head.  My Opinion Only.

Local Press Releases * Home * News * Local Press Releases * Boil water advisory issued for Port Loring Boil water advisory issued for Port Loring

Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr Jim Chirico has issued a boil water advisory, effective immediately, for all residents and properties of Port Loring that are on the communal drinking water system. This advisory is due to a pressure loss in the drinking water system.

A boil water advisory means that people who take their water from the municipal system should not drink the water, use it to brush their teeth, or use it to wash foods, such as fruit and vegetables, which will be consumed without cooking. Water should be brought to a rolling boil and allowed to boil for one full minute. People should ensure that water used for cooking comes to a full boil. Otherwise, the water is safe for bathing and washing clothes.

According to Dr Chirico, “There is no evidence of bacterial contamination; however, tests are being done.”

Health Unit staff are working with Ontario Clean Water Agency in Port Loring and will continue to monitor this situation. The acting medical officer of health will notify the media when the boil water advisory has been lifted.

For more information, call the Health Unit at (705) 474-1400 or 1-800-563-2808. For technical questions, please contact Ontario Clean Water Agency at 472-9671.

Cervical Cancer Vaccine, Think Before You Act

Well for years now I have always said that a lot of our doctors have their minds set in the right direction so that they want and do help us humans.  Thing is some don’t, a lot don’t but every once in awhile a good one happens our way.  Take a look at this article that came out just today.   Speaks for itself.  My opinion only.

One of the key researchers involved in the clinical trials for both Gardasil and Cevarix cervical cancer vaccines has gone public with warnings about their safety and effectiveness. This highly unusual warning against these vaccines by one of Big Pharma’s own researchers surfaced in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Express in the UK over the last few days. There, Dr. Diane Harper openly admitted the vaccine doesn’t even prevent cervical cancer, stating, “[The vaccine] will not decrease cervical cancer rates at all.”

This is astonishing news. The whole push behind the cervical cancer vaccines is based on the belief that they prevent cervical cancer. That belief, it turns out, is a myth.

Dr. Harper also warned that the cervical cancer vaccine was being “over-marketed” and that parents should be warned about the possible risk of severe side effects from the vaccine. She even concluded that the vaccine itself is more dangerous than the cervical cancer it claims to prevent!

Natural Medicine At Its Best Beats Pharmaceutical Meds Any Day

Well this is the time of year to get busy and make up your medicine from nature.  I got quite a few things on the go here this year. Comfrey Oil and Liniment, Plantain Oil,   Calendula Pedal Oil, Sumac Leave Oil and Liniment, Birch Leave Oil, Cedar Liniment, Cinquefoil Oil & Liniment and lots of other leaves drying for later like grape leaves, raspberry and white birch and all kinds of herbs.  Thing is folks one should be looking after ones self now a days, it’s not hard either, one just has to have an open mind and make some time.  My old friend Grey Wold used to say every time I seen him back at his cottage in the bush.  Knowing things does not come from learning things, it comes from remembering.”

A Bit On What’s Happening Here At The Walters House

Well lots of rain these days, at least for us here in Port Loring Ontario.  Also gotten quite cool too. But old wood furnace has taken care of that problem.  With sixteen cords of firewood in the basement piled high and dry, what more can a fellow ask for, right?   Sure gives me a good feeling knowing we will be warm this winter no matter what old Mother Nature sends  our way.  And she does that quite well every once in a while, guess to keep folks on their toes or when they get to feeling to big for their britches.   Also the cupboards are stuffed full of preserves from our garden that my lovely wife has done up, so again it sure gives me a good feeling inside.  Warmth and food, husband & wife is about a few of the most important items on ones list when them cold north winds start to howl.  Got some raking yet to do around the house yet and soon as I gather the leaves and put them down on the garden I will till it up, and should be a go for next spring.  One has to look ahead if he or she wants to live a good life style, and wife and I do that quite well too, if I might say so myself.   Also put a new cap on my chimney yesterday or should say the wife did, as it was getting a touch shabby, and I am scared of heights.  Today it’s applesauce making, and while I do that the wife will be making apple pies and putting them in the freezer for a tasty treat here and there throughout winter.  Also that applesauce from our old tree out back will sure be nice with some pork chops.  So guess I will go, hope you folks are also all set for winter, and remember, pick up some Vitamin D drops for winter and you won’t be needing any of them flu shots.  In my eyes no one should be getting them.  Talk Soon.

The Left Overs In Your Garden Are Not To Be Forgotten Either

Well it’s that time of year.  Got my large vegetable garden cleaned up for winter.  Vegetables are in the jars and freezer and looks like we won’t be hungry this winter.  Gives me a good feeling inside knowing the shelves are full.  Also healthy eating too.  IN other words no pesticides and things.   Once the garden was all cleaned up I noticed a lot of really nice large dandelions so I got to digging them up. Washed the roots and got them ready to bake.  The roots make the best drink one could ever ask for and so………………….good for you.  Here is how I go about it.

Digging The Dandelion Root

You will need a good shovel as Dandelion Roots are taproots that can go up to a foot and a half underground in good soil.  Early spring and late fall are the best times to harvest for medicinal purposes or maximum nutritional value.  This is the time when most of the plant’s constituents are being stored in the roots, although it wouldn’t hurt anything to harvest anytime for Dandelion Root Coffee.

Roots are much easier to dig when the ground is soft, as during the spring thaw or after a good rainy spell.  Once the ground is baked hard by a long, dry period, digging roots can be frustrating work, so plan accordingly.

The best place to harvest is from a farm field that gets plowed frequently or a large garden.  The soil will be looser, which allows the roots to get really big and also makes for much easier digging.  The dandelions in your lawn or other mowed places are generally stunted and yield very small roots.

Look for the biggest, thickest clumps of dandelion leaves, as these are usually fed by a nice, fat root.  I also carry a  Jack-knife with me to cut the greens away from the roots.  You will need about one 5-gallon bucket of roots to make 3 or 4 quarts of roasted Dandelion Root.  This would yield 10 gallons or so of coffee.

If you have time, take the greens home separately and prepare them for freezing.  A bucket of roots will give about a bushel basket of greens so plan accordingly!  I like to make a day of it and stock up for the whole year on both greens and coffee.

Washing the Roots

I used to scrub each root by hand, and believe me this was a lot of work!  I have since developed a much more efficient method where I can process large quantities relatively quickly.

To wash the roots, (you’ll probably want to do this step outside) put them in a bucket, fill it with water and agitate the roots with your hands until the water is very muddy.  Pour off the water, fill the bucket again and repeat this process a few times until the water runs clear.  At this point you should have a pile of beautiful, golden dandelion roots.  Don’t worry if there is still some dirt left on them, as we will be washing them one more time.

Grinding the Roots

With a large kitchen knife, cut the roots into chunks.  Put these into a large bowl and fill with water.  Move around with your hands until water gets dirty, pour off and repeat until water runs clear.

Now cut into a coarse-looking mixture, small pieces.
If you like, you can wash this coarse mixture one more time to be sure you have squeaky clean roots.  If you do, let them drain for a good hour or spread them on a towel until the roots are fairly dry to save time in the oven.

Roasting the Roots

Spread the coarse-ground Dandelion Roots on cookie sheets about ½ inch deep.  I can fit 4 cookie sheets, stacked, 2 on each rack, in my oven.  Try to roast as much as you can at one time.

Set the oven at 250° and leave the oven door slightly ajar while they are roasting so that moisture can escape.  You will be both drying and roasting the roots in this step.  The roasting process takes about 2 hours.  As the roots dry, they will shrink down to about ¼ of the size when fresh.  After they dry they will begin to roast, going from a blonde color to a dark coffee color.

Be sure to mix them every once in awhile with a fork to assure even drying and roasting.  You may have to rotate the cookie sheets occasionally if they are stacked to ensure even drying and roasting.  As they get close to desired color, be careful not to burn them!

Cool and store in glass jars or old coffee cans, they work good too.

To Much Of A Good Thing Isn’t Always Good For You. Protein.

The thing one has to remember is we need protein that is for sure, but the protein we don’t need to much of is from meat.  As…. certain proteins coats cancer cells and the bodies defences can’t get at them to eliminate them.  If that happens we get sick. Only the protein from meat does that.  Sure we need some meat protein, as us humans are meat eaters, but today we just eat to much and that is where problems start to happen.  So, were do I get the protein I need without eating meat.  Well I put this together so hope it helps.

Here are some examples of vegetarian foods with high sources of plant protein:
PROTEIN IN LEGUMES: Garbanzo beans, Kidney beans, Lentils, Lima beans, Navy beans, Soybeans, Split peas
PROTEIN IN GRAINS: Barley, Brown rice, Buckwheat, Millet, Oatmeal, Rye, Wheat germ, Wheat, hard red, Wild rice
VEGETABLE PROTEIN: Artichokes, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Green peas, Green pepper, Kale, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard green, Onions, Potatoes, Spinach, Tomatoes, Turnip greens, Watercress, Yams, Zucchini
PROTEIN IN FRUITS: Apple, Banana, Cantaloupe, Grape, Grapefruit, Honeydew melon, Orange, Papaya, Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Strawberry, Tangerine, Watermelon

Prostate Cancer, Natural Treatment To The Rescue

You know, there are a few items that kind of makes us men sit up and take notice that maybe, just maybe, we should have done a few things differently through out our lives, when it comes to eating properly and things like that.  One is Prostate Cancer.  The good thing is there is alternatives out there for a fellow to try and I suggest you take them in earnest before under going the conventional treatments with chemo, surgery and things like that.  Take a look at this.

A Friend of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer, with a PSA [Prostate Specific Antigen blood test] of 350 [‘normal’ is 4 or less]. After he had decided to do the prostatectomy [cut out the prostate,] I suggested that before the operation, he try rosemary. The regimen was one teaspoon of dried rosemary mixed with applesauce, taken three times per day. He did indeed. Luckily his operation was postponed for some time because the doctor had a conflict. He took the regimen for three weeks.

Before the operation he was scheduled to have a follow-up PSA. The PSA came back at two (2)! They cancelled the operation, thank goodness, and did another biopsy. Came back negative. The doctor attributed this sudden change of results as a ‘lab error’ (both the original PSA, and the original biopsy!).  Anything to say that natural medicine isn’t the way to go.   Rosemary evidently was the primary constituent for his change in status. This was one year ago. He continues the regimen, and his PSA is still two (2)!!  How simple is that.   On another note, good healthy eating is a good prevention in itself too.

Good Water, Straight From Mother Nature

Here is a bit more on good, well or spring water, thought I would share. Remember, don’t be fooled by this bottled water as most of it has either fluoride or choline in it.  Also where it comes from is another thing.   Hmmmmm.

Anyways, over half of your body is made up of water. It’s in every cell and every tissue. Biological processes like circulation, digestion, absorption and excretion depend on water. It forms the foundation of blood and lymph, maintains hearty muscles and young-looking skin, lubricates joints and organs and regulates body temperature. You can’t function without it.

As you grow older, it becomes vital to pay attention to your water consumption. Mature persons hold less cellular water, with a loss of 10 to 15 percent of previous capacity by the age of 65. A contributing factor is the loss of thirst sensitivity. Because water is so important for digestion, a lack of fluid in your body might make it more difficult for you to digest food. You may suffer from cramps, bloating, gas, constipation, diveritculosis or even colon cancer. Drinking more water, combined with a high-fiber diet, can prevent these problems.

To combat this loss of fluids, the answer is simple. Drink more water, good water. Six to ten glasses of pure water each day are necessary to enhance your body’s functioning. Beyond helping your digestive system, getting enough fluids will give you fresh skin, clear eyes and shining hair. Signs of hunger may be a warning flag that your body is need of a good drink. Try consuming several glasses of water before diving into a snack to see if that takes care of your craving. Because fruits are largely made up of water, they are perfect choices for a mid-afternoon treat.

My Opinion Only.

Water Directly From Mother Nature, Cures All

An old time item my old Grandfather told me about one time which relates to water, brought me to adding this to my Blog.  I really believe that if folks got to drinking good … healthy water each day, meaning no chlorine, fluoride or you name it, in it, just plain good healthy well water, it would solve over half of the  problems folks are having today with cancer and other things.   Amount one should be drinking for good health?  Take A Look. And Oh! Might pay if you live in the city to take a drive in the country some nice sunny afternoon and look up someone that has good well water and make a deal on getting it from them.  Price you pay for good water isn’t to be taken lightly.  My Opinion Only.

Drink 1/2 your body weight of water in ounces, daily.  Example 180 lb (ca. 82 kilogram) = 90 oz (3.4 kg). Of water daily. Divide that into 8 or 10 oz (0.38 kg). Glasses and that’s how many glasses you will need to drink, daily. Use 1/4 tsp. of salt for every quart of water you drink. Use salt liberally with food. As long as you drink the water, you can use the salt.  Avoid caffeinated or alcoholic drinks. These are diuretics and will dehydrate you. Every 6 oz (ca. 227 gram). Of caffeine or alcohol requires an additional 10 to 12 oz (ca. 454 gram). of water to re-hydrate you.  Some say, hey, I got  high blood pressure and that salt might not be a good thing.  I say use a good brand of sea salt and not to worry about it. The body is mostly water, and salt anyways and drinking the required amount of water flushes it  out of your system so you naturally need more.  Again My Opinion Only.

Cancer Treatments & What You Should Know

Here is an article that says it all when it comes to treating Cancer.  Only take a minute to read it and if you are thinking like I am, I am sure you will see the rightness in it.  Take A Look.

Did you know that many people have absolutely no fear of cancer? Some people, if they were diagnosed with cancer, would go home and celebrate that they were not diagnosed with something serious.

So why do some people have a great fear of cancer and others consider cancer to be nothing more than a minor nuisance?

The answer to this phenomenon is information. Some people have good information about cancer and others have bad information about cancer. It is the bad information which causes great fear.

Every human being has cancer cells in their body. Most people don’t even know they have cancer cells because their immune system safely and easily kills their cancer cells as they form. In fact, as long as there is a balance between the number of new cancer cells in their body, and the strength of their immune system, they will never “get cancer.”

Cancer is caused by an imbalance between the number of cancer cells in the body and the strength of the immune system. Either there are more cancer cells than there should be or their immune system is too weak, or both.

Natural cancer treatments, also known as “alternative cancer treatments,” do three things:
First, they safely get rid of cancer cells by gently killing the cancer cells.
Second, they strengthen the immune system.
Third, they fix the “inner terrain” of the body to make the body hostile to cancer cells.

Mission accomplished, the person has their balance restored and they are “cured” of their cancer.

These people have received good information and they have been cured of their cancer.

Now let us talk about orthodox cancer treatments. Chemotherapy destroys the immune system. Rather than building the immune system, chemotherapy destroys the immune system and somewhat destroys the person’s ability to digest foods. This makes the imbalance between the number of cancer cells and the immune system even worse!! The person becomes dependent on chemotherapy for life because they have no immune system, assuming they live very long.

One of the great deceptions of orthodox medicine is that they can put people into “remission.” You can rest assured when a person’s immune system has been destroyed they will never be able to truly be in “remission.” Their cancer will always come back because the balance has not been restored.

All of this is why alternative cancer treatments can have a 30 times higher true cure rate than orthodox cancer treatments. Alternative cancer treatments TARGET cancer cells or they do no harm to non-cancerous cells. Thus, alternative cancer treatments can be used in much, much higher doses than orthodox cancer treatments and thus they can be far more effective.

Mother Nature knows how to CURE cancer (i.e. restore the balance)!! In fact, Mother Nature has put more than 400 different ways to cure cancer on this planet!!

So why doesn’t the media ever tell the truth about these 400 cures for cancer? Can you spell: “m-o-n-e-y.”

The media makes many billions of dollars every year for providing intentionally deceptive information about cancer. It is this vast fortune that drives the media to intentionally provide totally false information about cancer to the general public. In fact, the truth about alternative cancer treatments is totally blacklisted!!

Most people assume, without thinking, that business executives have integrity. This is not true. Business executives are chosen because they are interested in saving profits, not humanity.

The pharmaceutical industry, which makes highly profitable chemotherapy drugs, pumps many billions of dollars a year into television advertising. These billions of dollars a year are more important to the owners of the media than human life. Yes, not everyone cares about human life.

This discussion about information explains why, in spite of the vast superiority of alternative cancer treatments, more than 99% of newly diagnosed cancer patients begin their cancer treatment with orthodox cancer treatments!!!  What a darn shame.

Home Made Horseradish, So Healthy For You Too

Well it’s that time of year again for making home made Horse Radish right out of your garden.  I had so many folks ask me how I make mine so………………….here it is.  Enjoy!

A simple recipe for plain ol’ home made Horseradish. I make a lot at once and I put mine in the fridge for 3-4 days then transfer all but one to the freezer. Note: Prep Time and Servings depends on the amount of Horseradish you have and want to make. I also recommend you make this outdoors or in a well ventilated area.

1
Cut roots into manageable pieces.
2
Scrape the outside of the horseradish roots until clean.

3
Drop into cold water after scraping to prevent discoloration.

4
Drain and grind up fine with a hand-grinder.

5
Add 1 tsp of salt to each quart, along with three table spoons of good brand name vinegar to each quart.

6
Cover and refrigerate for a few days before using.

7

If you so choose you can add a touch of sugar for taste, that part is optional.  Enjoy!

My Kind Of Guy.

I gotta’ tell ya.  I couldn’t have said it any better myself and makes me smile when folks have the gumption to tell it like it is.   Take A Look.

Right on, Andy Rooney!

Andy Rooney said on ’60 Minutes’ a few weeks back:

I don’t think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens…Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right ‘NOT’ to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American/Canadian/British citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn’t die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot or arrest you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can’t understand the word ‘freeze’ or ‘stop’ in English, see the above lines.

I don’t think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special National Assistance, loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, corner store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don’t hate the rich I don’t pity the poor

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn’t stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that’s better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn’t take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say ‘NO!’

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don’t pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don’t want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of ‘Political Correctness.’ I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in  Africa  ; so how can they be ‘African-Americans/Canadian/British’? Besides,  Africa  is a continent.. I don’t go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe  . I am proud to be from America  and nowhere else

And if you don’t like my point of view, tough…

Food For Thought You Might Say

When eating any meal, start with the most bland-tasting foods first, and only move to sweeter or more savory foods later in the meal. This is a great way to train yourself to eat less of the more filling sweetened foods and more of the food basics like salads and vegetables which may not taste quite as exciting. Don’t make the mistake of eating a bite of dessert before the meal, because it really does “recalibrate” your taste and make non-sweetened foods seem ho-hum

PH The Human Body

Thought You Might like to take a look a pH Chart which shows the pH in certain things. Give you a bit of an idea on how it works.  A little-bit of prevention, is better than waiting till it’s too late, I always say.

ph-chart

At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live!

Celery, Storage & How To Use It

Well time to start thinking of what lies ahead.  For example winter.  I know, you saying it’s to early, but it isn’t. Fact of the matter is, that this is the time things should be done up and put into jars like tomatoes,  beans, turnips, broccoli, well you can see where I am going.  One item which is on top of our list is good old celery, yep celery.  What we do for most parts is we save the leaves.  My wife she picks all she can, hangs them with a twine till dry and stores in paper bags. Come winter, I gotta’ tell ya, there isn’t nothing better for mixing with meat, soups, or spaghetti’s, just to name a few. Celery may also be dug out of the garden, with the roots
still attached which I do and placed in the basement or root cellar before the freezing temperatures occur.  Then set the plants on the floor and pack them together tightly. If kept moderately moist, the plants will keep 1 to 2 months. Now how hard is that.  Right, not hard at all.
Celery should not be stored with turnips or cabbage as the flavor of the celery will be tainted. The temperature of the storage area should be near 34 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity moderate. The roots should be in moist sand or soil. So………….there you go, now when them old north winds start to howl and you want something really tasty.  Make up a bowl of home made tomato soup and sprinkle on top, a few of them dried celery leaves. Hmm…………………….good.  No reason not to stay healthy all winter long.
