Good morning. Well one sunny day, now a cloudy day with a few showers thrown in for good measure. Not much one can do about that though, as one has to take what ever mother nature sends our way. Now for those that would like to do some hunting, well this will be an excellent day for doing just that. I give it a five star day out of five, so can’t get any better. Years ago I would be sitting down to write up my stories on an old ribbon typewriter. Have to say though a lot of improvements have happened in that department. I don’t really miss the old typewriter other than the clicking of the keys. Just something about it that has stayed with me through out the years. New sounds now, with these new key boards, quieter, don’t have to use as much force. At any rate one does have to move up with the times once in awhile that’s for sure. Have a great day my friends.

Can’t say I blame them either, as the USA does have some really nice warm places one can go to. For years my wife and I went to Sarasota for the winter, as my old Dad had a cottage there. So hows things going folks? Hope your summer is wrapping up to be what you expected and you made your millions for the winter that lies ahead. I finally got my vegetable garden all tilled up for next spring. Also took in a bit more kale for winter, as it sure likes this cold weather. Spinach is the same, loves the cold and grows to beat the band this time of year. So good for you too. Before I dug out my broccoli for the year, I picked all the small pieces off them and my lovely wife made a soup from them along with some leaks and potatoes. Had it for supper last night and I have to tell you it was hmm good.. Before tilling it up I added some lime this year, as the soil was a touch acidly and to enrich it some I added a good pile of cow manure. Then on top I covered the whole garden with leaves. Looks good now and next year should have tomatoes the size of pumpkins. I also managed to get my equipment all cleaned up and put away for another year and even got time to make a run to the dump. So all and all a good day, not wasting one minute of it.
The leaves are pretty well all gone for the year, with a few lingering oak ones still hanging on. I have to say they sure look pretty this year, even more so than years past. The tamarack though have just started to show off and for most parts you never hear folks talk about them. Put their colours along side the pines and cedars and let me tell you they are sure a sight to behold. Thing is, up here in the north is the only place you can see them and I highly recommend that you should. You know…. it would be just one more item to take of your list of things that should be done in life. Have a great day my friends.

Well good morning. Cool morning with some frost laying on top of things. Just finished lighting the old wood furnace, actually it lit itself, as I just put the papers and kindling in her and away it went. Must have had a spark from yesterday still in there. So….figured it knew its job and went to work all on its own. The old barometer is still rising and at the moment sitting at 29.15 in Hg. We will have lots of sunshine today for a change, with temperature reaching 49 °f and then later on tonight it will dip down to 35 °f. So looks like not so bad with day time temperatures for the next week hovering in the high 40s and some days into the low 50s. Not much else happening around town. Kind of quiet actually for a change. Good change though, as after a busy summer the home bodies are ready for a bit of time for themselves and family of course. I know my wife and I are. Got lots planned for this winter, with the making of some more flutes and items for our store. Then will see if I can find some time to get into writing that novel, that I have wanted to do now for the past four years. Looking forward to doing that. When I get to writing, a whole new world opens up to me. New characters show themselves and there for awhile, you could say I have a whole new family. Have a good day my friends, make the best of it.
Last night I was at the Powassan Library reading from my books, along with answering questions and also got some one on one time after the meeting, which I enjoy. I have to say we had a great evening. The staff was on top of things as always and made our evening very enjoyable. They should be commended. The refreshments and things after the meeting was great also. I get a good feeling being there, from the time I walk in the door, till the time I leave. We had a good turn out also in spite of the rain, as every chair was taken. There is lots to be enjoyed, like hunting, ice fishing, snowmobile, or for that matter just walking our trails in and around Port Loring. I do a bit of hunting with some very good friends come November, tell a few tales and enjoy some good company. That’s what life is about my friends, one has to remember, all that matters in life, is that we are happy. Accomplish that, and….. well, you have done more than most. But I am thinking being the day it was weather wise, not to many was interested in hunting or fishing any ways. Sunshine though is on the way for today later on. The daytime temperature is going to reach 55 °f and the temperature is going to dip to 44 °f tonight. If you plan on doing some hunting or fishing, the best times to be out there will be from 4:35 PM till 6:35 PM. I give it a one star rating today out of five, so….not the best. But in saying that, we do need it as the lakes are down some, mother nature needs to look after her own and it is pretty dry out there. We humans can’t complain, as we have had our share of nice weather this summer. Winds are calm this morning coming in from the south east. Temperature this morning is at 54 degrees or 12 Celsius. Will stay in the low 60’s pretty much all day. Still not to bad out there temperature wise. Barometer has been falling and is still falling slowly. Sitting now at 28.85 in Hg. Fishing & hunting if you are able to get out there will be good from 2:11 PM till 4:11 PM then again from 7:08 PM till 8:08 PM. I give it today a three star average, out of five.

Good morning Port Loring. Well woke up to some cloudy skies but I can see glimpses of blue up there. Today we will be with some clouds, but sunshine also. Winds are calm again this morning, which makes it nice for boating, coming in from the South, changing to the South East a bit later on in the day. That will bring in some showers for either later today or tomorrow. So if you got some work to do outside, this would be a good time to get it done up. Just wished I was able to go out there today, but I loaned my car to my son while I get his fixed up with some brakes and things. His don’t have a hitch on it.
